Chapter 268 Announcement
It was past nine at night.
Luke drove home.
The little fatty got out of the car, still in a daze, droopy and listless.
Luke had said enough for the day and didn't feel like offering any more consolation.
When people face setbacks, it's tough to get over it immediately, and no amount of talking helps.
To put it simply, accepting it is a process, and the best cure is still time; perhaps a good night's sleep would help.
Luke brought his brother home and asked, "Where do you want to sleep tonight? The living room or the spare bedroom?"
The little fatty glanced at the living room, then walked to the door of the spare bedroom, "Can the projector in the spare bedroom play movies?"
"You're in the mood for a movie?"
"I want to distract myself, maybe that'll make me feel better."
"The best way to distract yourself is to sleep. Once you're asleep, you'll forget about it, and maybe you'll have figured it out by tomorrow morning."
The little fatty thought for a moment, then shook his head, "I can't sleep. I want to watch a movie that'll cheer me up a bit. Do you have any good DVDs here?"
Luke chuckled and teased, "The strip-tease kind?"
"Can you not bring that up again? I've already forgotten about it."
"I thought you liked watching those."
"I was just curious, that's all."
"OK, I'll pick out a movie that's appropriate for you to watch right now." Luke walked over to the shelf by the wall, which held many DVDs.
They were mainly divided into three categories: action movies, comedies, and science fiction movies.
Given the little fatty's current state, a comedy would be more suitable, so Luke picked out the only Bollywood movie on the shelf, "3 Idiots," "Have you seen this movie?"
"A movie from India, are you sure?" The little fatty showed a look of distaste. As someone from Los Angeles, it was hard for him to take an interest in Bollywood movies.
Luke said, "I'm not fond of Indians either, but this movie is worth watching."
The little fatty picked up the DVD and looked at the movie's description, "A 2009 movie, isn't it too old?"
"Then pick one yourself." Luke couldn't be bothered with him anymore.
"Fine, let's go with this one." The little fatty wasn't in the mood to choose for himself, and handed the DVD to Luke.
Luke turned on the projector and started the DVD, and the movie began.
The little fatty sat on the sofa against the wall and leaned back, "Why didn't you buy a bed for the spare bedroom?"
"Because this is my private cinema, and sofas are standard."
"You just don't want me crashing here."
"Heh, as if that would stop you."
The little fatty shifted into a more comfortable position on the sofa, "I'm hungry."
"Are you kidding me?" Luke said with a look of disbelief.
"I've only had breakfast today, didn't feel like eating lunch, and I've been hungry up till now. I feel like I'm about to faint from hunger."
"Don't worry, with all that fat on you there's plenty to burn off; you won't faint from hunger."
"Aren't you worried about losing a 'cute' little brother?"
"I don't have a 'cute' little brother, just an annoying one."
"I'm hungry!"
"I'm really hungry."
"I feel like I'm going to pass out from hunger…" The little fatty began to groan on and on.
"Stop!" Luke clenched his fist, really wanting to punch him, but he ultimately held back because…
he was getting hungry too.
"What do you feel like eating?"
"Fried chicken, fries, pizza, and cola; I'm really hungry." The little fatty swallowed his saliva.
...
The next morning.

A familiar voice woke Luke from his sleep.
Luke yawned and glanced at the time; it was already past seven in the morning.
Yesterday, after the late-night snack and movie, it was already midnight and after washing up, it was past twelve before he slept.
Luke had the day off and had planned on sleeping in, but the system's voice woke him up.
Luke checked his phone for a while and, once awake, started to draw his prizes.
The pointer stopped, Dog Training Card [Learn and understand dog training skills quickly within three hours.]
Luke drew seventy times, winning a total of 5 cards.
These were three new cards, Dog Training Cards,
and two old ones, an Identification Card and an Accuracy Card.
The winning rate was somewhat low this time.
Apart from the cards, Luke also won 65,000 US Dollars.
By now, his system savings amounted to 129,000 US Dollars.
He had nearly 250,000 US Dollars in cash on hand.
The stock market had been doing well recently, and the value had increased by nearly 1.27 million US Dollars.
Luke was one big step closer to buying a mansion.
As for the new cards, Luke didn't find them very useful; he didn't even have a dog, what did he need Dog Training Cards for?
But drawing prizes wasn't swayed by his will, so he could only hope for better cards next time.
Luke didn't feel like getting out of bed and simply played with his phone while lying in bed for about an hour, only getting up close to nine to wash up.
Luke didn't bother with breakfast either and took the little fatty to the community square's snack bar for breakfast.
The little fatty was still looking listless.
Luke asked with concern, "Feeling any better?"
"I dreamed about Maggie... she had a new boyfriend last night." The little fatty's voice was hoarse, his eyes reddened.
Although it was a sad story, Luke felt a sudden urge to laugh, and suppressing his smile, he said, "What do you want to do today?
I'm off today, I can take you out to take your mind off things."
The little fatty shook his head, "I can't even feel my heart anymore. I need to find it before I can do anything."
