Luffy's Call: My Journey with the Straw Hats

Chapter 110: The New Era

"BOOM!" The endless rain of swords fell from the sky, carving out massive craters tens of meters deep in the ground. The entire plaza of Marineford was shrouded in this terrifying downpour. Compared to Akainu's Meteor Volcano, Moonlight's Meteor Fall was far more terrifying.

Countless people scrambled to dodge, but many were still caught in the attack, either seriously injured or killed instantly. The ground was a scene of devastation.

"Is he a god?" everyone trembled, looking at the figure of Moonlight descending from the sky and the ravaged landscape around them. What kind of attack was this?

"Heh, heh, you've got to be kidding me!" Doflamingo's voice was laced with an uncharacteristic tension. The scene was too exaggerated to be real. Gecko Moria and the other Warlords said nothing, but their gazes were now fixed on Moonlight as if he were their greatest enemy.

"You bastard!" Aokiji, Kizaru, and Akainu appeared before him, their expressions grim, their terrifying killing intent locked onto Moonlight.

"You dare to do this to Marine Headquarters!" Akainu's eyes erupted in fury, magma spewing from his body.

"Yo," Kizaru said, his hand on the hilt of his light-sword, his expression completely serious.

"Unacceptable," Aokiji growled, his entire body radiating a cold, crystalline aura. Moonlight's attack had completely enraged the three Admirals. They had decided to work together to eliminate him. Otherwise, the Navy's reputation would be in tatters.

"Let's go!" Ace and the others, seeing this, gave a deep nod and began their retreat. Luffy was carried by Ivankov onto Whitebeard's ship. He had reached his limit and could no longer fight. He stared at Moonlight, and with his last ounce of strength, he whispered, "Moonlight..." then passed out. Two consecutive doses of Ivankov's Tension Hormones had pushed his body to its breaking point.

Marco and the others covered their retreat as the group headed for the harbor. Once they were back on the sea, no one would be able to stop them.

"Too naive!" At that moment, Sengoku acted. He mobilized the battleships to surround Whitebeard's fleet. Garp leaped onto the Moby Dick, smashed the rudder with a single punch, and looked at Ace. "This is Marine Headquarters!"

"It's Garp!"

"The legendary Hero of the Marines, Garp!" everyone exclaimed. His fame was far greater than that of the three Admirals.

"I'm sorry, Gramps," Ace said, his face grim. Flames erupted from his body. "Fire Fist!" He threw a punch.

At the same time, Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji all attacked Moonlight. A terrifying lava hound lunged at him, Kizaru's light-sword moved at impossible speeds, and Aokiji's ice threatened to freeze him solid. The combined attack of the three Admirals was like a natural disaster. Moonlight didn't dare to be careless, constantly parrying their attacks. Aokiji's ice had a massive range; a single moment of inattention would be fatal. Kizaru's light was impossibly fast, and even with his own high-speed swordsmanship, Moonlight couldn't gain an advantage. Akainu's magma fists were overwhelmingly powerful, threatening to destroy everything in their path. The three of them were clearly giving it their all, determined to leave Moonlight here.

A one-on-three battle against the Navy's strongest fighters. It was a unique and terrifying sight. But with his masterful swordsmanship and powerful Haki, Moonlight managed to hold them off.

"He's terrifying! Is this Moonlight really just a vice-captain?"

"He's too strong! He's fighting three Admirals to a standstill!"

"Such swordsmanship... only Mihawk could compete with that!"

Everyone—Navy and pirate alike—was horrified by the scene. Doflamingo and the other Warlords, who had been ordered by Sengoku to support Garp, had been dragging their feet, but now they stopped completely, their mouths agape. No matter how arrogant they were, they had to admit that Moonlight's strength was terrifying. Even Mihawk's black blade, Yoru, was trembling in his hand, as if eager to join the fight.

The rest of the Marines were being held off by Marco and the others. Moonlight was fighting the three Admirals, the Warlords were just watching, and Garp was holding off Whitebeard's crew. The two sides were locked in a strange, balanced stalemate.

All over the world, people watching the live broadcast were amazed. From the moment Whitebeard had appeared to this current stalemate, the battle had been breathtaking. Who would have thought things would turn out this way? Weren't the pirates supposed to be annihilated?

On the Sabaody Archipelago, Rayleigh watched the broadcast, a glass of wine in his hand. Seeing the scene of Moonlight versus the three Admirals, he couldn't help but shake his head and sigh. "Time is truly unforgiving."

The constant fighting finally took its toll, and the three Admirals gained the upper hand. Though Moonlight's swordsmanship was unparalleled, three Admirals working together was simply too much. He was finally sent flying.

At the same time, Garp was also defeated. But not by Ace. It was Luffy. He had once again asked Ivankov for a third dose of Tension Hormones. This time, if he fell, he would surely die. Resurrected once more, Luffy didn't hesitate, immediately activating Gear Third and knocking Garp away with a massive fist. The force of the blow tore a chasm in the plaza.

Though the three Admirals had defeated Moonlight, they were far from unscathed. Both sides were now exhausted.

"It's a stalemate?"

"Truly unexpected. Someone can actually fight the Navy to a standstill."

"Zehahahaha!"

At that moment, Blackbeard and his crew appeared on the battlefield. They looked at the scene of mutual destruction and laughed, especially Blackbeard, whose laughter was filled with an arrogant pride.

"Why is he here?!"

"How could it be at this time?!"

"Blackbeard!"

His appearance stunned everyone. Wasn't he a Warlord? Doflamingo and the others looked at him, their expressions grim. Besides his original crew, there were now several new, terrifying figures at his side, including Shiryu of the Rain. The others were all infamous criminals from the sixth level of Impel Down.

"That traitor!" Marco and the others glared at him. It was because of Blackbeard's betrayal that this whole series of events had occurred. He was the root cause of all this.

"Zehahaha! Marco, Vista, Ace, we meet again!" Blackbeard laughed wildly, walking between the two exhausted forces and heading straight for Whitebeard.

The three Admirals frowned but didn't move. They couldn't figure out his purpose.

"Teach," Whitebeard's eyes narrowed. He had long suspected this day would come. He had even tried to stop Ace from chasing Blackbeard. The man had hidden his true strength for decades, and now, he was finally showing his fangs. The men at his side were all as strong as Marco.

"Let me show you my power!" Blackbeard laughed. The ground around him was covered in black water.

"You traitor!" Diamond Jozu was the first to attack, his entire body turning to diamond. But as he charged, he was suddenly stopped, as if he had been touched by Seastone. Blackbeard grabbed him, and Jozu, despite his strength, was powerless to resist. He was sent flying with a single punch.

"Pops, you look terrible," Blackbeard said with a twisted smile. "Under my power of darkness, everything is in vain!"

Marco and the others, seeing Jozu so easily defeated, knew they couldn't underestimate him.

"That's the power of darkness!" Ace shouted. "Especially for Devil Fruit users! In front of him, you have no room to resist! Vista! Oars Jr.!" He had fought Blackbeard before and knew his power. Vista, a swordsman, and Oars Jr., a giant, were their best bet.

Sure enough, though Blackbeard's dark gravity pulled them in, they were not Devil Fruit users and could still fight back. Oars's massive size put tremendous pressure on him, and Vista's swordplay was so powerful that he almost wounded him.

"Crack!" Just as Vista was about to press his attack, Shiryu suddenly drew his sword. His slash was so fast it was almost invisible, and Vista was cut down. It wasn't that he couldn't react, but Shiryu's attack had been a sneak attack. In that moment, he realized that Shiryu and Blackbeard were cut from the same cloth.

"Despicable man, despicable sword," Vista growled, his face grim.

"Zehahaha..." Blackbeard burst out laughing.

Aokiji and the others looked on, their expressions serious. Blackbeard's crew was so powerful they were single-handedly defeating the Whitebeard Pirates.

"What is his purpose?" Sengoku's face was ugly. Blackbeard was his greatest failure. He had underestimated him.

"You take the old man and leave! I'm coming!" Ace gritted his teeth, about to attack.

But Blackbeard seemed to ignore them all, continuing his advance toward Whitebeard. His dark gravity easily defeated anyone who got in his way. He was like a walking piece of Seastone. With masters like Shiryu at his side, he was invincible.

"Damn it! Can no one stop this guy?" Marco and the others despaired.

"Teach," Whitebeard said, standing up. Though he was seriously injured, the aura of a king still erupted from him. Even without doing anything, Blackbeard stopped in his tracks.

"Pops," Blackbeard said, a flicker of fear in his eyes. But seeing Whitebeard's condition, his confidence returned. There was no way he could come back from this.

"Hmph." Just as he was about to attack, a crescent of sword energy shot through the air. It was Moonlight. He had recovered from the three Admirals' attack and had immediately rejoined the fight. Shiryu drew his sword to block the slash, but he was still forced back.

"You again," Blackbeard snarled, seeing Moonlight appear in front of Marco and the others.

"Why are you still here, Ace? Leave!" Moonlight said, not attacking, but looking at Ace and the others. If they hesitated any longer, they would all be trapped here.

"Sorry, Moonlight! Let's go!" Ace shook his head and, with Moonlight covering them, they began to retreat.

"Leaving in front of us? What do you take the Navy for?" At that moment, Akainu rushed up again, followed by Kizaru and Aokiji.

"No! Don't come over here!" Blackbeard suddenly shouted, a look of panic on his face as he saw Moonlight taking a stance. But it was too late.

Moonlight rushed into the sky, and his twelve Pheasant Swords plunged into the ground, while another twelve hovered in the air, forming a hundred-meter sword domain. Everyone within it—Blackbeard's crew and the three charging Admirals—was suddenly blocked by the sword energy, unable to move. They could only watch as Moonlight's figure flickered through the sword field, and when he landed, no one within a hundred meters was left standing.

"Extreme Ghost Swordsmanship: Storm Style," Moonlight said faintly.

"Damn it! What kind of swordsmanship is this?! I can't move!" Blackbeard and the others cried out, especially Blackbeard, whose pain was doubled by his Devil Fruit. The three Admirals were forced to retreat again. This man was too tough.

"Damn it! If that's the case, I have to do it myself!" At this time, seeing the situation, Sengoku suddenly transformed into a giant golden Buddha and charged at Whitebeard. The Warlords were just watching, the Navy's forces were tied up, the three Admirals were stopped by Moonlight, and Garp was lying on the ground, pretending to be defeated. He was the only one left.
