Chapter 418: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Sixteen: Magic Bead_3
Lynch couldn't think of anyone else capable of using that kind of spell to awaken the abilities of the Necroman Magic Pearl. Without the first chapter's scroll, simply looking at the other "Creation Law" could only inspire mages when casting spells, but it wouldn't teach them any new spells, and it was impossible to wield power like the Ancient Great Arcanist. The first scroll was like the foundation of a building; Lynch held all the construction materials, but no matter how strong someone else's comprehension ability was, they couldn't build a magical house.
"Zilvra, how does that magic artifact work? Are the undead summoned or created?"
"I'm not too sure about that." Zilvra answered, "After all, I haven't seen that thing myself, and I'm not a mage, so how could I know? However, our first family is much better at creating undead than other families. Could it be related to this Magic Bead?"
"Very likely." Lynch said, "Even after listening to your story, I still can't be sure of the origins of those undead. If, as you said, the disaster is caused by a magical item, then things are simpler: just destroy that Necroman Magic Pearl. Although there's a possibility that a necromantic creature is leading an army to attack Salantir, that explanation is even more bizarre than a magical item..."
"What are you planning to do?" Zilvra said, "Even though your power is formidable, you can't fight endlessly like the undead. What in the Elf Kingdom is worth you taking the risk, worth paying such a high price?"
"If I merely say 'the power of friendship keeps me here', that's not entirely true. This reason is not only a deception to you but also to my own heart." Lynch said, "The Elf Kingdom has something I need. Curiosity compels me to explore the essence of magic, and that item is a great shortcut. I think, once I help them solve the current crisis, I'll have the qualification to make corresponding requests to the elves."
"If it's a paid task, then I'm in." Zilvra licked her lips, "I never fight for impractical things."
At this moment, Anna returned to the Holy Temple, and Soka wasn't by her side. The female elf was surprised to see that Lynch and 'Zilvra' were still at the top of Holy Mountain and hadn't left. She walked slowly towards the mage, but her steps seemed a bit unsteady, as though stumbling over obstacles set by thoughts in her heart.
"Good day. Are you two still here? Aren't you tired?" Anna squeezed out a smile, but her gaze was only on the mage: "Soka had something to eat and is now fast asleep on the bed; you should also go have some food. Our elven cuisine is quite good."
"I'm not hungry." Zilvra just glanced at Anna, then turned her gaze back to the mage, "But I won't force you, taking away your right to dine. So, I'll go back and check on Soka."
With that, she left the Holy Temple quickly, as if there was nothing else worth lingering for. As Zilvra passed by Anna, her hand unconsciously touched the thin sword at her waist.
Lynch noticed this too, puzzled by Zilvra's seemingly provocative behavior. He quickly turned to the unsuspecting elf and said, "Anna, I have some questions for you about the state of the undead."
Zilvra's hand left the weapon, as if nothing had happened, and the female Drow quickly left the palace.
It wasn't until her footsteps were completely gone that Anna stood in front of Lynch. She lowered her head, then suddenly scanned the surroundings; her hands rubbed together repeatedly, controlled by a sense of anxiety.
"Do you have something to tell me?" The mage noticed the elf's unusual behavior, but even with his mind, he couldn't figure out why both ladies were acting so strangely today.
Anna finally raised her head and hesitantly asked in a low voice, "Is Zilvra a Dark Elf?"
Lynch's expression didn't change much, but internally he was shocked. How did Anna guess Zilvra's identity? Anyone who heard of Dark Elves would first think of the typical silver hair and black skin, especially that distinctive skin color, which was a hallmark of the Drow. Zilvra, however, looked completely different, more akin to a Celestial Creature, like the little angel Soka. The dark elf bloodborne power couldn't conceal the formidable genetic traits of celestial creatures; the white skin should prevent most people's speculation.
