Chapter 421: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Seventeen: Remnant Star_2
Back in the room, Zilvra leaned against the railing, already in a state of meditation. Although elves do not require fixed sleep like humans, entering a trance to harmonize with the surrounding environment is nonetheless indispensable. However, Lynch was puzzled about what a Drow like Zilvra would harmonize with in this sacred place of the elves.
The slight tremble of her eyelids indicated that Zilvra was not in complete rest, perhaps she didn't truly wish to enter a trance now. Lynch stood in front of her for a while, waiting for Zilvra to speak. But Zilvra remained silent.
So the Mage took out a scroll from his spatial bag. This was a scroll he had transcribed in the Black Crystal Tower, recording the magic runes carved beneath a giant metal sphere. Combining the records of the "Secret Law" and the Dark Elf's barrier knowledge, Lynch had separated the part that provided magic power from the part that caused effects. Now, he needed one of these effects to fulfill his plan.
On that night, a strong light glowed continuously on the mountain of Heather, clearly visible even from the lakeside dozens of miles away. This light originated from the Mage Lynch's room, from the Powerful Wand. The young Mage worked throughout the night without rest, bent over his desk, crafting what he needed.
The elves, who loved to wander at night and admire the beautiful moonlight, remained unusually quiet on that day. The entire Holy Mountain emitted no song, only infinite tranquility reverberated through the forest. All the elves saw that strong beam of light, which extended from the window straight into the sky, pointing at the bright moon, with the stars around it appearing somewhat dim in contrast.
"Our Mage friend must have some magical plan, let's not disturb him," all the residents here said so.
The next day, the Mage silently left his room, and accompanying him was Zilvra. They took a white pointed boat and crossed the Holy Lake at dawn, entering the Elf Forest, disappearing into the moist mist.
Little Soka yawned, lazily flying to the treehouse where the Elf Queen resided. Bathed in strong white light for an entire night, how could she sleep? The little angel handed a letter to the Empress and then lay down on the steps, falling asleep.
Hernfurry smiled, a warm smile dispelling the fatigue of recent days. She gently embraced the little one before her, placing her onto a bed paved with green leaves and fresh flowers.
As the angel slept deeply, she chewed on the delightful bed like a gluttonous sheep. After reading the letter, the Empress summoned several elders residing in Heather to discuss the situation.
For five consecutive days, there was no news of the Mage. He seemed to have vanished suddenly, and even the elves skilled in tracking couldn't find his traces in the dense forest. However, the Elf Queen showed no worry about this; rather, she seemed relieved of a burden, now spending a lot of time playing with Soka. This little angel delighted her greatly. Meanwhile, each of the elders led their subordinates, bustling with some "secret tasks." Elf who were unaware of the internal situation worried about the current state, with many warriors and rangers searching back and forth in the Elf Forest, fearing the Mage had lost his way in the vast woods or encountered the Undead.
A figure leaped quickly between the trees, from one to another, leaving only a black shadow. The slippery moss on the branches did not affect him at all, his light movements not even disturbing the sleeping birds nearby. Only a few leaves gently drifted down, the only trace he left behind.
As the agile elf ranger disappeared amid the dense foliage, two figures stood up beneath the large tree he had just passed.
"It seems this level of camouflage is sufficient," Lynch brushed away a few leaves that had settled on his head, stretching his limbs: "If the elves can't detect anything, then the Undead have no chance."
"Of course," Zilvra helped Lynch remove a few dry leaves from his Mage Robe: "The elves' techniques are quite easy to learn."
"That's because you are part of the elves too," Lynch remarked: "Drow, a thousand years ago, also lived among the woods."
