Mage Legend

Chapter 462: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Twenty-Nine Obstruction_3

Given Lynch's age, even if he had studied Time Suspension from birth, he couldn't achieve any significant results.

"Perhaps the water in the lake evaporated massively, making me hallucinate." Fyyian quickly found an explanation he could accept: "Next time, I'll aim more accurately."

Kuboert was also bewildered by this peculiar experience, but he politely chose to keep silent. Ever since those undead, which only appeared in books, stood "alive" before him, he had mentally prepared himself for the wondrous events yet to come. To him, this strange sudden movement was likely one of those unfathomable mage tricks, and as a priest, he didn't need to know. No matter how curious he was, he would wait until after the battle to inquire.

The only one present who knew the truth was the mage, Lynch. His aching left arm clearly warned him that this extraordinary ability surpassing all arcane magic should not be used too frequently. Ever since he began to gradually master the use of the "left hand," Lynch had grown increasingly respectful of the Great Arcanist who created this artifact. Being able to forcibly suspend all surrounding movement with magical power, while only the person wearing the arm could move freely, was even more powerful than pushing oneself to the limits with "Time Suspension."

And this was merely the first function of this refined gold arm.

Although Lynch's curiosity was immense, wanting to fully uncover all the functions of this magical item, the physical exertion from just the first power nearly made him dizzy. Because he had not fully mastered the spell system of the Ancient Great Arcanist, he couldn't yet apply the limitless Magic Origin Power to his spells, only being able to change the nature of magic items around him. This refined gold arm, however, completely relied on the user's own magical power. With his magic level as an apprentice mage, being able to support this magical item for one or two uses was already quite remarkable.

Therefore, during battles, he relied more on the Powerful Wand than his own magic. While this made the combat monotonous, it was safer.

"Kuboert." Lynch wiped the sweat off his forehead: "In a bit, when I let you use the dispersing power, invoke the sacred name of Pate. How many times more can you use this power?"

"Three times," Kuboert said. "For ordinary undead, perhaps a few more. But to disperse a monster of the Skeleton Naga's level, I can only manage three times."

"That's enough," Lynch replied while pulling out a scroll: "Spell Extension: Invisible Mist Spell!"

The Residual Star Swamp was originally rich in moisture, and with the area-expanded Invisible Mist Spell, it immediately rose into a thick white fog. The moisture was like a thick blanket, suddenly covering everyone's eyes. Even though the undead creatures had Dark Vision, it was useless against the mist.

Except for Lynch, everyone else became blind. The Skeleton Naga roared in anger, furious at suddenly losing its target. It unleashed Fireballs frantically in the vicinity of the mage's original position, hoping to use this area spell for coverage attacks. However, Lynch and Kuboert had already changed their locations.

Fyyian was much smarter than the Skeleton Naga. He immediately unfurled his "Wind Creation Skill" scroll. Originally intending to use this spell to spread plague poison over a larger area, he now had no choice but to use it to disperse the thick fog.

When the wind blew through his robes, the scene around Fyyian became clearly visible. But looking ahead, half of the Residual Star Swamp was still shrouded in thick fog.

"Damn mage! It's another force field wall!" Fyyian soon realized the mage's tactic and gritted his teeth as he spoke.

Lynch took this time to urgently replenish energy for his Powerful Wand. After a bout of intense bombardment, the spells within the wand were nearly exhausted. The battlefield settled into a rare quiet, except for the furious roars of the Skeleton Naga, which continued to bombard the force field with flames and lightning, there were no other sounds.

Kuboert still couldn't see the situation in front, only vaguely knowing the mage Lynch was still beside him. The young mage's silhouette appeared very blurry in the mist, but the silver flash in his hand was as clear as a beacon.
