Mage Legend

Chapter 471: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Thirty-Two Reward

On the very last day of summer, the war clouds above the Elf Kingdom finally completely dispersed.

After a whole day of rain, gentle sunlight once again shone upon this Holy Land, and the trees seemed freshly washed anew. All traces of destruction caused by the war were cleared from this land, and at first glance, it still appeared to be the remembered Paradise.

Only the black hand statue on Heather Lake remained a cruel reminder to all elves, and only the broken branches at Unicorn Bay continued to tell the story of pain.

However, Lynch felt rather relaxed. For humans, war is something that occurs frequently in life, not a calamity experienced once in thousands of years. Without the elves' infinite nostalgia for such cruel events, humans could quickly recover from pain and brace for the next sorrow.

No matter how one puts it, after the Elf Queen found her daughter, she decided to hold a gathering at Heather's Great Temple. It was to commemorate those compatriots who sacrificed their lives for victory and to reward the souls who fought bravely for freedom.

Lynch attended this gathering with Soka and Zilvra, alongside Priest Kuboert. Among the group, only Princess Yilinrui was absent.

Soka, dressed in new clothes, looked very spirited. She would sometimes stop and curiously ask Lynch about Yilinrui's whereabouts. The mage patted her head, "She should be with her mother."

Zilvra felt a bit uneasy participating in the elf gathering. Her armor was too damaged from battle, and she couldn't wear elf equipment. So, a hastily made gray robe became her outerwear. However, Zilvra, accustomed to being alert all day, was not used to such casual attire.

Kuboert kept his head down, displaying a humble demeanor. He walked at the front of the group, continuously greeting elves who saluted them along the way. He truly lived up to his role as the Main Priest long responsible for diplomatic affairs.

A significant number of elves gathered in the Holy Temple, including many elf elders from outside Heather. When Her Majesty the Empress called the meeting, she mentioned it would be an important gathering for the whole Elf Kingdom—the first time since the Mage God War a thousand years ago that all the elf elders would participate in a meeting.

"My compatriots, friends," Hernfurry nodded to Lynch and the others, "We've been through a difficult time. This was a challenging war. After tremendous efforts and heartbreaking sacrifices, we finally stand here to celebrate our hard-won victory..."

Lynch's attention was not on Her Majesty the Empress's speech; he had already guessed most of what she would say. What occupied his mind was the original reason for coming to the Elf Kingdom—the third part of the Arcane Secret Scroll.

In the Dark Elf City, Lynch had used the Prophetic God Staff to search for the whereabouts of other chapters of the Arcane Secret Scroll. But due to his limitations, he only found the next chapter, recording the magic scroll of High-level Creation. With the knowledge on this Secret Scroll, Lynch could manufacture countless Demon Statue armies like ancient Great Arcanists; he could also use his transformation and Spell magic to create living objects. He even estimated that once he learned the content of the third chapter scroll, he would gain the healing power akin to that of a Priest.

Hence, he was eager to advance his abilities. The only trouble was how to acquire that chapter scroll. Because that chapter scroll was precisely what kept this temple beautiful, filling the whole Holy Mountain with boundless vitality—the Holy Stone.

"I wonder if the Elf Queen will agree to this request," Lynch pondered. "Even if I contributed a lot in this war, perhaps it's impolite to ask so abruptly?"

"Here, we thank our friends from outside the Kingdom; their contributions are even more deserving of our respect." Lynch didn't have much time to think before the Elf Queen turned the topic to them: "I solemnly introduce to the elders—Lynch, Kuboert, and Zilvra."

The elves' gazes focused on Lynch and his group, and they expressed gratitude with friendly expressions. However, Lynch keenly observed that a few elders seemed to have some doubts about the name "Zilvra," the Dark Elf, and their gaze lingered on her more often.
