Magus Supremacy

Chapter 458: A New Doctor in Town!

"Argh!" The agonized young man groaned out in pain while the remaining two dashed towards Grey and Thalos.

Grey, on hearing the groan, recognized the voice as the one that had made him realize humans were here.

Seeing the men coming at them with weapons in hand, Grey didn't flinch. He glanced back at Thalos, let out a deep sigh, and leaped into the air.

'That man is in agonizing pain. I fear he doesn't have much longer to live unless he is taken care of,' Grey thought, watching the men crouch down, ready to spring into the air as well.

With a scoff, Grey slammed his foot into the air with all his might, unknowingly creating a gust of wind that slammed into the advancing men while he rocketed toward the injured man inside the room.

"Dame! Get him now!" one of the two men shouted to the figure who had remained rooted in one spot, watching the spectacle.

Though he hadn't wanted to interfere initially, seeing this strange figure heading straight for one of his friends spurred him into action. He kicked off the ground and sped toward Grey, who had already landed in front of the injured man and was reaching out instinctively.

When his hands were grabbed, the grip was crushingly tight, almost causing Grey to yelp. But then he glanced up and saw the young man who hadn't wanted to interfere earlier holding onto him firmly.

Actually, it was wrong to call him a man. He looked more like a teen, someone in his early twenties. His long black hair was packed neatly into a ponytail. Fierce green eyes glimmered with intensity, as if staring straight into Grey's soul.

Broad shoulders suggested a life spent training, honing, and refining his body from the moment he could walk. That was why Grey had initially mistaken him for a man; he was almost, but not quite, hefty, with slightly bulky arms.

"What are you trying to do?" Dame asked, frowning.

Contrary to Grey's expectations, Dame's voice was calm, young, and measured, rather than booming or terrifying, cementing the fact that he truly was quite young.

"I'm trying to help, and if you don't let go now, you would lose one of your friends," Grey roared, trying to yank his hand away from Dame's grip. But it was impossible.

"ARGH!" The injured man groaned again, drawing their attention for a moment.

"Fine," Grey muttered, kicking Dame squarely in the stomach with all his might. The young man let go immediately.

"If you don't want me to help, have fun taking care of him yourself," Grey added, turning to walk away.

But a hand gripped his shoulder, stopping him.

"Pl…please," Dame croaked, his green eyes brimming with tears. "If you can help, kindly do. I can't afford to lose him."

"Dame! Are you sure about this?" one of the duo men asked, but the young man simply nodded.

Grey wasn't having it.

"I tried to, but you refused my help. So take care of him yourself," he scoffed, about to walk away. But then he caught sight of Thalos shaking his head, gesturing toward the injured man on the ground.

"Pl…please," Dame added again, his voice trembling. Grey let out a loud sigh and, after a moment, turned back.

"Fine," Grey said as he strode toward the injured man, crouching in front of him to assess the situation.

'Curses! I acted out of impulse. I really don't know how I'm supposed to help though. I'm no doctor,' he thought as he carefully examined the wound. That was when he noticed the green liquid spreading across the man's abdomen.

It was seeping at a worrying rate, causing Grey to raise an eyebrow.

'What is this?'

"How did he encounter this?" Grey asked, his brow furrowing in concern.

"A beast did this," Dame replied quietly, his voice edged with worry.

"Got any pills?" Grey asked without turning around, scanning the wound further.

"Not at all. We used them all in our fight against the beasts. The remaining ones were what we tried on him to see if he could heal, but it was all to no avail," Dame explained, his voice heavy with frustration.

Sigh!

"Fine," Grey said, holding out his hand. His pendant shimmered and a small pouch suddenly appeared in his palm. Dipping into it, he pulled out a red pill, the pouch disappearing as quickly as it had appeared.

"You all owe me for my precious red pill," Grey scoffed with a grin. He carefully laid the man on his back and shoved the pill into his mouth. "Swallow it on my count," he ordered firmly.

'I wonder if he knows what he is doing,' Thalos thought, watching intently with keen eyes.

Grey's hands now hovered over the man's abdomen. He closed his eyes and slipped into meditation. Almost immediately, he sensed it—the man's internal body, struggling violently against the rapidly spreading infection. The man's Ki was fighting back, but his Dantian was shrinking quickly under the pressure.

'Let's see if this works,' Grey thought, pressing his hands onto the abdomen despite the green liquid that oozed between his fingers. He began moving his hands in slow, deliberate patterns, injecting a precise mixture of mana and Ki into the man's body.

Instantly, the man let out a chilling scream, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. Grey's own face glistened with sweat as he concentrated fully.

The energy surged through him, guiding the man's body to fight the infection. It was working, but the pain was unbearable for the man receiving it.

'I hope this works. I'm just flowing with instinct,' Grey thought, casting a touch of his wind magic internally. The man screamed even louder, but the red pill remained lodged in his mouth.

"Swallow the pill on three," Grey instructed, slowly withdrawing his hands from the abdomen.

"Three…"

"Two…"

"One…"

"Now!" Grey shouted, pulling his hands completely away. Immediately, a jet of greenish liquid shot from the man's body, causing him to yelp sharply as he swallowed the red pill in one gulp.

Grey swung his hands aside, sending the green liquid splattering on the ground. It sizzled slightly, burning a shallow patch into the stone beneath.

"It… it worked?!" Grey croaked in disbelief, relief washing over him like a tidal wave. He staggered back slightly, finally allowing himself a moment to breathe and collect his thoughts, knowing the immediate danger had passed.
