Chapter 41: Sophia’s Dangerous plan
After a long day at work ,Joanne and Diane made plans for dinner together.
They left Indigo Design without knowing they are being followed.
Sophia sat in her car, gripping the steering wheel tightly.
Her heart pounded with rage.
First, Joanne humiliated her at the gala.
Then, she just found out that Jason is still coming to her.
And now, she couldn't even reach Joanne's mother?
She had underestimated Joanne.
No—she had Alexander King.
Sophia's lips curled into a twisted smirk.
If Joanne thought she could win just because she had a powerful husband…
She was dead wrong.
Literally.
If Joanne was out of the picture, everything would go back to normal.
Jason would forget her.
And Alexander… well, she wants him.
She needed a way to get rid of Joanne.
Permanently.
And she knew just the person to help her.
After dinner day decided to have some drinks.
Charles sipped his whiskey, staring at Darren King, who lounged on the leather chair across from him.
Darren looked completely unbothered.
Like he didn't have a care in the world.
"Darren," Charles said carefully. "We both want Alexander out."
Darren smirked. "Oh? that?"
Charles leaned forward. "He's hiding something. If you help me—"
Darren's expression darkened instantly.
The playful glint in his eyes disappeared.
A dangerous smirk played on his lips as he tilted his head.
"Mr Baker…" His voice was smooth, but there was a lethal edge to it.
"Do you have a death wish, is this the reason you askedto see me?"
Charles tensed.
Darren chuckled. "You think I'd help you?" He leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper.
"Alexander may be my biggest rival, but i want to destroy him my self."
Charles clenched his fists. "So you're backing out off an opportunity?"
Darren's smirk widened.
"I'm choosing to keep you alive."
Then, his expression turned ice-cold.
"Listen carefully, old man."
His voice was like a blade pressed against Charles' throat.
"If you keep sniffing around my family, I'll make sure you disappear."
Charles swallowed hard.
Darren wasn't bluffing.
He could see it in his eyes—the same ruthless blood that ran in Alexander's veins.
This was a warning.
And if he was smart, he'd listen.
But Charles Baker had never been a smart man.
Meanwhile, in the King Manor
Frederick entered Alexander's study.
"There's movement," he said.
Alexander looked up. "Who?"
"Sophia Baker. She's trying to arrange something… dangerous."
Alexander's eyes turned cold.
His fingers tapped against his desk.
"She's finally getting desperate."
Frederick smirked. "What do you want to do?"
Alexander leaned back, his expression unreadable.
"Let her dig her own grave."
His voice was calm, but there was an undeniable threat beneath it.
If Sophia thought she could harm Joanne…
She would soon realize her biggest mistake.
