Chapter 502: Silver-Crowned Warrior
Bone Harmony—a technique in the arsenal of Iron Style that focuses on fixing broken bones and dislocations.
After getting his leg broken, Kiernan immediately performed it and noticed a painful flaw in it—it wasn't working as well as he had hoped.
He didn't know why—he didn't have time to find out why—so he had to endure the second event with a broken leg.
"…Argh."
Kiernan gritted his teeth, cold sweat of pain trickling down his cheek, and his body wanted nothing more than for him to just quit and get treated.
However, if he did it now, he would get last place in the second event, and that would just ruin his chances in the championship.
"What's with the look of struggle, Kiernan? It hadn't even been ten seconds, and you're already sweating? I knew the first event was just a fluke!"
Zeus said with an annoying laugh.
Kiernan ignored his taunts, swallowed the moans of pain, and focused on the horse stance.
At that moment, it became difficult to do that as the audience screamed in excitement, and a fight began very close to them.
"Aura Image—Warrior of the Silver Crown!"
Prince Leonida flicked his wrist, and a warrior materialized right next to him—the warrior had a bleeding silver crown on his head and metallic wings sprouting from his back.
Its armor was shaped like a human body, but it glinted with a metallic sheen that made it look like a being from another world.
"Unbelievable! Prince Leonida has already unleashed his aura image in the first minute of the event!
"What could he possibly be thinking about? Maybe he is trying to get rid of his competitors early on?!"
The commentator shouted into the microphone.
"Hahaha…"
Frown Man flicked his wrist, and a humming of sea horn blasted through the air—at that moment, a brown ship appeared out of nowhere, sailing through the air.
It had water rippling down its sides and the sound of waves crashing against its hull—it was an amazing sight.
At the mast of the ship, a pirate flag flapped against the wind, and a crew of pirates could be seen manning the deck.
"Aura Image—Pirates of the High Sea—man your stations, and fire up those cannons!"
Frown Man shouted with a grin.
The pirates pushed the cannons through the portholes, aimed them at the silver-crowned warrior, and lit the fuses.
The fuses burned brightly as the cannons roared to life, and with a boom, the cannonballs shot out towards their target, creating a deafening explosion.
"Heh~"
Prince Leonida controlled the silver-crowned warrior.
The silver-crowned warrior jumped forward—a silver shield in his left hand and a long sword in his right—he smashed his shield through a few of the cannonballs and cut down the rest with his sword.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The cannonballs exploded throughout the air.
The spectacle of the fight left the audience in awe—but there was a problem—the fight between the two also affected the ones nearby them.
They couldn't escape the thundering chaos and were forced to use their aura to defend themselves.
"Hey, watch out!"
"You fools, the event has barely started, and you guys are already draining your stamina!"
"You made me use my aura, morons!"
Frown Man's body slightly leaned to the left, but he quickly straightened himself and grimaced slightly.
'He is trying to make me drop my horse stance so I'll get disqualified from the event.'
The silver-crowned warrior jumped on the deck of the ship and sliced through the pirates near him—it made Frown Man's stamina deplete even faster.
"Urgh…"
With a cold sweat drenching his forehead, Frown Man waved his hand and manifested more pirates on the deck.
It caused his stamina to deplete.
However, those pirates then jumped the silver-crowned warrior at the same time and brought him down to the deck.
They punched and kicked his armor—the silver crown was kicked off its head—and then, the warrior got swiftly stabbed in the throat.
It died.
"Urgh…"
Prince Leonida wiped the sweat off his forehead after his warrior got killed, but he then flicked his left wrist and summoned his warrior once more.
"…You fool. You really want to self-destruct just to ruin me? Hahaha…"
Frown Man said, but he was feeling pissed.
"Yeah, I do."
Prince Leonida smirked and sent his warrior to attack the pirate ship once more.
But at that moment, a horn blasted through the stadium, and on the screen, a warning sign flashed.
"The first weather change is happening!"
The commentator shouted.
A wind so powerful that it would be able to unroot trees gushed through the arena—it came as a complete surprise.
Some of the representatives weren't ready for it and fell down on their buttocks—they couldn't keep up their horse stance!
Beep! Beep! Beep!
On the screen, the names of the disqualified representatives appeared, and when they saw their names over there, they had to resist tears from coming to their eyes.
"No… I barely got any points!"
"It can't be… I-I lost."
The rest of the representatives steeled their stances and put more weight into their feet so they wouldn't fall down like a tree.
"Mgh…"
Kiernan gritted his teeth in pain and felt the wind smash into his chest—it felt like fists were constantly hitting him in the chest—trying to make him fall down.
It took everything in his power to not fall down.
'The weather changes every minute? The first change happened after the first minute mark.'
Kiernan thought with a pained look.
If the weather changed every minute like he was assuming right now, it was going to be a hellishly painful event for him.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
At that moment, the pirate ship shot cannons towards Prince Leonida, but the silver-crowned warrior used the shield to block the incoming cannonballs.
Those cannonballs got redirected and headed towards other representatives—everyone quickly protected themselves with their own Aura Images.
One of the cannonballs flew over Zeus and headed towards Kiernan—he noticed it pretty late coming his way!
'Shit!'
Kiernan raised a wall of the black fortress next to him and blocked the cannonball, but his wall had a large crack in it.
"Urgh…"
He coughed out in pain.
'This is not good.'
"…"
Zeus looked at him with a sharp gaze and then looked down at his right leg—a smile rose to his face as he realized something.
