Chapter 39: New Venture

Max didn't waste a moment longer than necessary. He reached his car and drove straight home, his mind already racing with plans.

He needed to study, to collect data and experiment on the T-virus, inform his legal team to deal with Cell Labs, and register his new biotech company.

As he mulled over his next steps, he arrived home almost without realizing it. Parking the car, he headed to the drawing room and collapsed onto the sofa.

A deep sigh escaped his lips as his body sank into the cushions, releasing the stress and tension that had built up during the day.

Then, something clicked in his mind. Grabbing his phone, he called Leo, the son of Marco and Carla, and husband of Lily; and asked his location.

Leo, a middle-aged man, was fit and dependable. He worked as a driver and handled various tasks around the mansion.

He was present in the mansion and after Max instructed, Leo rushed to the drawing room.

"Yes, Master max, you needed me?"

Max nodded, his expression thoughtful as he sifted through memories. "Leo, the basement isn't being used for anything, right?"

Leo paused, as if recalling something. "Yes, Master Arthur once planned to develop it for his own purposes but abandoned the idea. It's been used as an additional storeroom ever since."

"Clean the basement," Max instructed. "Then call a construction company and have it refurbished into a working lab. You can check my father's old contacts for reliable contractors."

Leo nodded, unfazed with the task. Such tasks were familiar to him; his father had managed similar duties for the family before passing them on to Leo as age caught up with him. He knew exactly whom to call and how to get things done.

Excusing himself, Leo quickly left the room and began making arrangements. He contacted a construction company to renovate the basement into a state-of-the-art lab and hired a cleaning team to clear out any unnecessary items.

Max watched Leo's retreating figure before standing up and heading to his study. Sitting at his desk, he powered on his computer and began drafting an email to Anna.

He outlined his discussions with Alex and his intentions to acquire the venture.

He instructed Anna to reach out to Cell Labs and, with the assistance of Victor's law firm, negotiate the acquisition under his newly established biotech company, which he also asked her to register.

After a moment of thought, Max paused and narrowed his eyes. He needed a name for the company.

After brief contemplation, he settled on Knight Bioworks. There was no particular reason for the choice, other than a sense of pride and gratitude to his lineage, he was grateful for a second chance and the life he was building now—one entirely his own.

This new life, so different from his past, would not be defined by living or working for others. His goal was clear: to earn wealth, status, and recognition.

Somewhere deep down, he harbored a quiet ambition for Knight Bioworks to become as renowned as Stark Industries.

Knight industries, he smirked at the thought of an empire with claws in every fields similar to stark's.

With that, Max finalized his email and was about to click send, a small smirk tugging at his lips. This was just the beginning.

Before proceeding, Max gradually realized he needed a logo for his company. It would be best to register it now to avoid any complications later.

He paused, tapping his chin thoughtfully.

'What would be the best design?'

Glancing around the room for inspiration, his gaze landed on the system's mark, which resembled the Animus logo from the Assassin's Creed games. His eyes lit up with an idea.

Opening his browser, he searched the internet to see if anything similar existed in this world.

Finding nothing even remotely resembling it, he chuckled. Grabbing a pen and paper, he sketched the iconic Assassin's Creed logo in its simplest form.

Admiring his handiwork, Max smirked. Before the Assassin's Creed franchise could launch in this world, he would claim the design for himself.

As for Ubisoft, he figured they could come up with something else.

After scanning the sketch and compressing the image into an email, he attached it along with the rest of his requests—equipment for his personal research on the T-virus and items for the lab Leo was arranging to renovate.

With a click, he sent the email and promptly transferred funds from his account to Knight Investment Firm without delay.

Leaning back in his chair, Max took a moment to reflect on his growing to-do list.

He had already instructed Anna to invest in promising companies like Facebook and YouTube.

He also tasked her with negotiating a deal with Apple for his stakes in KTech.

On top of that, there was the Cell Labs acquisition he had just emailed her about, along with the registration of his biotech company, Knight Bioworks , complete with the newly designed logo.

A wry smile crossed his face as he considered the logo. If Ubisoft wanted to use it in the future, they'd have to deal with him.

Still, one issue nagged at him: money. With so many ambitious plans, establishing his biotech company, acquiring Cell Labs, and securing stakes—his current financial resources might fall short.

A deprecating sigh left him. He shook his head, placing his hopes on Anna to secure funds by selling his KTech stakes as quickly as possible.

Stretching his arms after hours of continuous work, Max decided it was time for a break. Snacks and rest were in order. He could contemplate his next steps later.

He left the room to grab something to eat before attending to anything else, while Leo, on the other hand, had already contacted the construction and cleaning companies to begin the lab's construction.
