Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Peter Misunderstood
Tobey Spiderman stared at the screen, a sense of déjà vu washing over him. The scene tugged at buried memories. Had his parents left him in a similar way? Who were the people chasing after them? Did they kill his parents?
Unable to suppress his curiosity, he returned to Uncle Ben's house to ask about his parents. Uncle Ben sighed, recounting the little he knew. "Your father died in a plane crash. That's all we were told."
Tobey Spiderman pressed further, but the couple knew nothing more. Frustrated, he had no one else to turn to. Left with no choice, he fixed his attention back on the screen, hoping for answers to his questions.
2nd Gen Spider-manman was equally shaken. The events on the screen awakened fragments of his childhood he had long forgotten. Though blurry, they resonated deeply.
He had been following the screen's content closely. Unlike the confident Peter Parker displayed there, Garfield had endured relentless bullying throughout school. How he envied the other Peter's strength! Even in his school, there were girls named Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy, though they bore little resemblance to the ones on screen.
For years, 2nd Gen Spider-manman had dismissed it all as coincidence. Still, classmates taunted him, saying he didn't deserve to share Spider-Man's name. Everything changed two days ago when he stumbled upon a secret compartment in his father's old briefcase.
The hidden documents revealed startling information. The next day, driven by curiosity, Garfield infiltrated Oscorp Industries using an intern's stolen ID. He bypassed security, gaining access to the biology lab. There, he came across peculiar equipment.
While inspecting it, a spider bit him. The incident triggered a chaotic episode in the subway. Returning home, Garfield felt something was off. He was ravenously hungry and, shockingly, caught himself eyeing a fly as a potential meal.
Thankfully, Aunt May interrupted him. He raided the refrigerator instead, devouring its contents until his hunger subsided. Later, he discovered a spider dangling from his neck.
The realization hit him—he might be like the Spider-Man from the screen. Yet, fatigue overwhelmed him, and he fell asleep without further thought.
The next morning, his enhanced strength caused him to break things at home. That was when the screen began its broadcast.
[Ben Parker and Aunt May sat in their cozy living room, speaking with a couple seated across from them. Outside, little Peter Parker peeked through the window, curiosity etched on his face. Aunt May caught sight of him and smiled warmly.]
["You're going to stay with Aunt May and Uncle Ben for a while," Richard Parker said gently, crouching to meet his son's gaze.]
["But I want to go with you!" little Peter protested, clutching his father's hand tightly.]
["No," Richard said firmly, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "It's not safe for you. You'll be better off here."]
[Mary Parker knelt beside her son, stroking his hair. Her voice trembled as she shared instructions with Aunt May: "He doesn't like crusts on his sandwiches and needs a nightlight to sleep." Tears glistened in her eyes as she added, "Please take good care of him."]
[Richard, aware of the danger looming, pulled Mary to her feet. "Mary, we need to go."]
[Mary hesitated, her heart breaking as she turned away from her son. "Be a good boy," Richard whispered to Peter, placing a tender kiss on his forehead before closing the door behind him.]
[Rain poured relentlessly as little Peter watched his parents walk away. Aunt May crouched beside him, pulling him into a comforting embrace.]
"So Peter Parker's parents disappeared under mysterious circumstances?" Tony Stark muttered, his curiosity piqued. "JARVIS, search for the identities of the people on the screen."
"Yes, sir," JARVIS replied after a brief pause. "No matching records found."
Tony frowned. "Another parallel universe? Fascinating." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. "So, what's the deal with these generational Spider-Men? Why is he called the second generation?"
The screen offered no answers, leaving Tony perplexed.
Uncle Ben chuckled, nudging Peter. "Maybe the third generation is your son!"
"What?!" Peter blinked in confusion. "Where did that idea come from?"
The screen shifted scenes.
[Peter Parker, now older, pinned a photo to the school bulletin board. A label underneath read: "Debate Club!" Before he could step back, a basketball struck him squarely in the face. Stunned, he looked up to see Flash Thompson grinning smugly.]
["SORRY!" Flash called out mockingly. His laughter echoed as he walked away.]
[Peter, always the pacifist, smiled awkwardly. "Good morning, Flash," he said, brushing off the insult.]
Flash and his friends continued their pranks, but Peter endured them with good-natured resilience.
[A girl approached him in the hallway, her tone cheerful. "Hi, Peter, right?" she said, smiling brightly. "I love your photography!"]
[Peter's cheeks flushed. "Oh, thank you!" he stammered, avoiding eye contact.]
["Are you free Friday night?" she asked, leaning closer.]
[Peter's heart raced. Was she asking him out? He nodded hesitantly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, I think so…"]
["Perfect! Could you take photos of my boyfriend's car? I want to frame one as a gift for his birthday."]
[Embarrassment washed over Peter as he realized his mistake. "Of course! That sounds like a great idea," he said quickly, forcing a smile to hide his awkwardness.]
[Despite the misunderstanding, her recognition of his photography skills lifted his spirits.]
[Later, as Peter skated down the hallway, he nearly collided with a teacher.]
["Peter!" the teacher barked. "Do you still want that skateboard?"]
["Yes!" Peter replied earnestly, fearing the teacher might confiscate it.]
["Then stop riding it inside! Put the wheels up!"]
["Got it!" Peter held the skateboard over his head as he walked away.]
[But as soon as he turned the corner, he hopped back on, gliding smoothly down the hallway once more.]
