Another voice...

Charles felt an odd familiarity with the voice's owner, though he couldn't quite place it.

Carrie's power was already formidable, but the voice's owner kept feeding her strength, making her even more powerful and her aura increasingly malevolent.

Crack!

In the clash of invisible forces, something on Carrie's body shattered.

"Quick! Get out of here!"

Charles shouted, trying to suppress Carrie's powers as he spoke to Erik and the others.

Erik shielded Charles, while Clark swiftly flashed in front of Carrie, reaching out to grab her.

"Ha…"

Carrie's orange eyes fixed on Clark and Erik, who stood a little further away. Desire burned in her gaze. Invisible force coalesced before her, forming a protective barrier, but it also took the shape of ropes that lashed out toward Clark.

Clark's face remained impassive. He reached for her without hesitation. As Carrie's telekinetic ropes wrapped around him, he disregarded them as if they were nothing, grabbing her neck in a single motion. With a powerful thrust of his legs, he leapt into the air.

Whoosh!

Clark broke through the roof, landing atop it and dashing off into the distance.

"Ahhh!"

Carrie screamed in fury, her telekinetic powers wreaking havoc on everything around her.

The roof cracked, a fierce wind howled, and debris, propelled by her force, shot toward Clark like bullets.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Clark remained unaffected. To him, these attacks were nothing more than a mild annoyance.

In an instant—perhaps even less—Clark had taken Carrie out of the school and was speeding toward the outskirts of the town.

Carrie, shocked by the extent of his power, shouted, "Why! Why?!"

"Why do you have so much strength and not take revenge on them? Why?!"

By the time she finished speaking, they had already reached the edge of the town.

Clark held her by the neck, standing calmly. He answered in a quiet, steady voice: "Because I'm not like you."

Carrie froze for a moment, before letting out a low chuckle. "Then let's die together."

The voice in her mind, the one desiring more souls, craved Clark's soul—something it longed for desperately.

Crack!

A sudden, sharp sound echoed as blood began to pour from Carrie's head. Then, before Clark's eyes, a pair of horns, only a few centimeters long, sprouted from her skull.

A demon?

Clark's heart skipped a beat.

What is happening?

Boom!

Before he could fully process his thoughts, an even more terrifying burst of telekinetic power erupted from Carrie, knocking Clark back.

Clark frowned and charged toward her again.

But this time, Carrie remained still, showing no intention of dodging or blocking his attack.

Boom!

His fist stopped inches from her face, the force of the punch creating a gust of wind that ruffled her blood-streaked hair.

Carrie smiled at him and even tugged at the suit draped over her shoulders. "You won't kill anyone, right? You really are a kind person…"

As she spoke, she grabbed Clark's hand, pulling it toward her neck. "Go ahead, squeeze. Then you'll see the blood, see my head roll off."

Then, they would both be the same, walking into hell together.

Clark's sky-blue eyes locked onto her. "Are you still human?"

"Who knows?" she replied, her voice dripping with uncertainty.

At that moment, a long tail suddenly grew from her back, swaying behind her.

"Doesn't seem like it…"

Clark shook his head. "And you're not going to die so easily."

He noticed a small wound on Carrie's body, one that flickered out of existence in the blink of an eye.

The girl, who had suffered so much, seemed to undergo some inexplicable transformation when her demon horns appeared.

Without another word, Clark grabbed Carrie by the neck and, under her watchful gaze, yanked her forward and slammed her down onto the ground.

Boom!

The ground cracked, forming a deep pit.

Clark's lips curled slightly as he murmured, "Knew it wouldn't be that easy to kill you."

Pressing Carrie down, he forced her face into the dirt, attempting to suffocate her into unconsciousness.

A crude method, but effective.

"Ahhh!"

She can still scream?

Clark frowned and increased the pressure slightly.

The screaming stopped—but the ground trembled.

Then, the earth beneath them shattered, flipping over violently, reversing itself. The sudden upheaval swallowed them both, and in the chaos, Carrie managed to break free.

Clark stomped hard, trying to steady himself, but the shifting ground beneath him crumbled like sand, offering no solid footing.

In the next second, waves of dirt surged toward him.

Freed from his grasp, Carrie watched as Clark became trapped in a sphere of compressed earth. She let out a soft hum, floating into the air. With a flick of her wrist, the earthen prison lifted from the ground.

He's not dead.

She could still feel his presence.

So she tightened her grip. The sphere became smaller, denser, compressing under her increasing power.

But—

A force that could not be resisted shattered the sphere in an instant.

Clark plummeted from midair, landing firmly on his feet.

He looked up at Carrie, shaking his hand slightly before exhaling. It was time to take this seriously.

He needed to subdue her quickly—then find his father and see if there was a way to turn her back.

As for killing her outright…

If he could bring himself to do that without hesitation, he wouldn't be Clark Kent.

No matter how strong he became, at his core, he was still a kind-hearted person.

And, ultimately, he was just an eighteen-year-old boy—not yet a man.

At that moment, two figures soared toward them from the sky.

Erik and Charles.

The two sat in sleek, metallic chairs, surrounded by a swirling mass of floating metal. The sight was undeniably dramatic.

Clark twitched slightly at the corner of his mouth.

Then Charles' voice echoed in his mind.

"Hurry up and finish this. She's no longer human. There's also an unknown force protecting her mind—I need time to break through it. But if you keep her distracted, I might be able to find an opening."

Clark gave a slight nod. Then, he shouted, "Erik!"

Erik's eyes flashed as he landed behind Clark. With a sharp wave of his hand, countless pieces of metal shot toward Carrie.

She raised her own hand in response. Her telekinesis flared, stopping the incoming projectiles midair.

In that moment—Clark vanished.

He reappeared above Carrie's head.

Her heart clenched in alarm. She tried to evade, but Erik's flying metal formed a cage around them, cutting off her escape.

In the next instant—

Clark grabbed Carrie and drove her straight down.

Boom!

The impact shook the earth.

Carrie crashed into the dirt, coughing up blood. But even as she lay there, her body was already healing.

"Got her!"

Charles' triumphant voice rang out.

Carrie lay still.

Clark finally released her.

Erik clicked his tongue in mild annoyance.
