"My nose! My nose!"
Wade shouted with glee as he looked at his fully restored nose.
He kept twisting his face, examining it from every angle, utterly entranced by his reflection.
It was perfect.
That elegant curve, the flawless shape...
He turned to Mike and exclaimed, "You're an angel."
Then, hesitating slightly, he added, "But why only the nose?"
"What about the rest of me?"
Mike lifted a hand and dismissed the manifestation power. "Don't you think you should give something in return?"
Wade looked ahead, his eyes flickering. Then, he walked over to Mike, turned around, bent over, and looked back with a flattering smile.
"Handsome… be gentle, okay?"
Mike: _
He calmly raised a foot and kicked Wade flying.
"You lunatic!"
With a low curse, Mike looked at the now-upright Wade and said, "I meant a deal."
Lying on the ground, Wade lazily propped up his head and replied, "I'll agree to anything."
Mike pressed his fingers to his brow. "You want Tony to figure out how to recharge your time-space device, and you want your face restored, right?"
Wade nodded frantically.
"Then while Tony's working on restoring the energy, you'll be his bodyguard."
Wade agreed immediately, without a trace of hesitation.
For this kind of reward, he'd gladly kill himself if needed.
Mike's gaze flickered as he looked at the time-space device on Wade's wrist. He let out a quiet chuckle in his heart, subtly withdrawing his telepathy.
He wondered what Tony might be able to extract from the thing.
Just as the thought crossed his mind, a blazing Iron Man suit soared into view.
As it landed, Tony opened his helmet and tried hard to suppress a laugh. "I heard from Happy that you got kidnapped?"
He was curious who'd be bold enough to try.
"Boss! You're back!"
Wade, wearing his newly restored face, rushed over to Tony.
"F**k!"
Tony jumped in fright and reflexively punched him.
Bang!
Wade's face deformed instantly as he was sent flying from the punch.
"What the hell is that thing?"
Tony looked at Mike, still shaken.
Mike explained the deal he made with Wade.
Tony glanced at Wade—now gleefully rubbing his healed nose—and was surprised by his regenerative capabilities.
Turning back to Mike, he asked again, "You're not joking, right?"
Mike shook his head.
So, this... 'person' came from another time-space? Another universe?
Mike waved Wade over and said to Tony, "He's yours now."
Tony's face twitched, but for the sake of the time-space device, he nodded.
Wade, now quietly donning his mask again, clung to Tony's arm.
"Boss, I'm yours from now on~"
Then he blew Tony a kiss.
Tony: "…"
Was it too late to say no?
"What about that explosion just now? Any leads?"
Mike changed the subject.
Since the explosion had occurred nearby, Tony had immediately suited up and flown to the scene.
Tony looked a bit puzzled and brushed Wade's hand off. "There was nothing there. No traces of any bomb, no clues at all."
"We've already started helping the injured," he added, stepping out of the Iron Man suit.
"Uncle Mike, any thoughts?"
"Maybe it wasn't a bomb," Mike said calmly.
Tony's heart skipped a beat, his eyes flashing with thought.
Just then, Mike's phone rang.
He glanced at the screen and said, "Alarm's going off. Time to clock out. See ya."
With that, a teleportation card appeared in his hand, and in a flash, he vanished.
Tony was speechless.
He actually set an alarm for clocking out? That was ridiculous!
Turning to Wade, Tony said, "Take off your time-space device and put it on the table. I'm going to study it."
Mike had just handed him another massive gift.
Wade gently removed the device, kissed it, and said, "Be gentle with it, okay? It's a shy little baby."
Tony's face darkened. He picked up the device, gave Wade a brief look, and said, "I've got a task for you."
The explosion happened so close...
Compared to him, Pepper Potts needed more protection.
Washington, D.C., United States
BOOM!
A thunderous explosion erupted. Intense flames and shockwaves swept in all directions, engulfing unsuspecting pedestrians and turning them into lifeless corpses.
Bodies and wounded people lay scattered across the streets, and cries and wails echoed throughout.
In an instant, the once-bustling street had turned into a living hell.
Patrolling police officers rushed over. Horrified by the gruesome scene before them, they immediately called for backup.
Soon, ambulances and a large police force arrived on the scene.
"Damn it, what's going on lately?"
One officer cursed under his breath, pale-faced.
This kind of thing had already happened several times in Washington recently.
"Damn terrorists!"
Another officer swore fiercely, growling, "They all deserve to rot in hell!"
And not just in Washington—similar terrifying explosions had occurred across the country over the past two weeks, resulting in countless casualties.
"Who's doing this?! Why haven't we caught them after all this time?!"
"No clues. The blast sites don't contain any bomb fragments, and there are no suspects. The explosions happen suddenly, completely out of the blue."
An older officer spoke up, turning to the younger ones.
"Stop thinking about it. Focus on rescuing the injured."
The two nodded and got back to work.
At the same time, another explosion rocked Las Vegas, causing heavy casualties.
And in New York, another bombing was about to happen.
A man with a pained expression walked along the street. Looking ahead at the Stark Tower, a smile formed on his face as he recalled his mission.
If he completed it, his family would be set for life.
After all, there was no saving him now. He had already lost control of the power inside him.
He had once been a soldier, gravely wounded on the battlefield, which led to the amputation of both his legs.
His family lost their pillar of support. Life became incredibly difficult, and even his compensation had yet to be paid.
In despair, he came into contact with AIM and joined the Extremis program, clinging to a sliver of hope.
But by the time he entered Phase Two, he was already showing signs of instability.
Faced with this situation, he had two choices:
Die quietly... or complete one mission to earn a huge sum for his family.
He didn't hesitate. He chose the second.
"Stark Tower."
Gazing at the towering building ahead, Talian marched forward and injected a dose of Extremis into his body.
