MARVEL I AM DRAGON GOD

Chapter 91: Chapter 91 Progress

Glynda watched the students with wide eyes.

A soft breeze rustled the leaves of the Forever Fall forest, carrying with it the faint scent of sap and the growing confidence of the young Huntsmen and Huntresses. She saw teams RWBY and JNPR move with a practiced ease, their movements fluid and strong.

It had only been a few weeks, yet the change in them was astounding.

Glynda remembered Jaune Arc from the initiation.

He was clumsy, unsure, and clearly out of his depth. He had struggled even with basic combat forms.

But the Jaune she saw now was a different person entirely.

He moved with a quiet power, his posture confident, his gaze unwavering.

He was a leader, strong and capable, a true warrior. It was as if he had faced countless life-or-death battles, though Glynda knew that wasn't the case.

He had simply trained under Arthur's unique methods, and the results were undeniable.

"Professor Arthur," Glynda said, her voice a hushed whisper, "what have you done with them?"

Arthur smiled, a knowing glint in his eyes. "I simply helped them find their own strength, Glynda. True Magic isn't about grand gestures; it's about understanding and control. They've embraced that."

Glynda nodded, still mesmerized by the students. Pyrrha's control over her Semblance was even more refined.

She could shift metal and manipulate magnetic fields with an almost effortless grace.

Ruby zipped through the trees, not just with her Semblance, but with an added burst of speed that seemed to defy natural limits.

Weiss created ice glyphs that shimmered with an inner power, and Blake's shadow clones moved so realistically, it was hard to tell which was the true Blake.

Yang's punches now carried a visible ripple of energy, making her already powerful blows even more devastating.

But it was Jaune who truly astonished her.

He stood tall, directing his team, his voice calm and steady.

He no longer hid behind his shield; instead, he used it with precision, deflecting Grimm attacks while simultaneously preparing for his own counter-strikes. His aura, once so faint, now radiated a quiet strength.

Glynda knew that any initial doubts she had about Arthur's unconventional training methods had vanished.

He was truly a remarkable mentor.

Meanwhile, not far from where RWBY and JNPR were collecting sap, Cardin Winchester nursed a grudge.

He watched Jaune, a sneer on his face.

Cardin remembered their brief, humiliating encounter.

He had thought Jaune was an easy target, someone he could bully and ridicule without consequence.

He had planned to make Jaune his personal punching bag, just like he had done with so many others.

But Jaune had dismissed him like an annoying fly.

The look in Jaune's eyes, a cold, almost indifferent stare, had burned into Cardin's memory.

Jaune had looked at him as if he were a clown, a pathetic joke.

The memory still made Cardin's blood boil. He, Cardin Winchester, leader of Team CRDL, had been made to look like an idiot by Jaune Arc, the weakling.

Cardin clenched his fists. He needed to teach Jaune a lesson.

He needed to restore his pride.

He glanced at the jar of sticky, sweet maple sap in his hand.

An idea sparked in his mind, cruel and childish, but satisfying.

He would get his revenge.

He waited for the opportune moment, his eyes fixed on Jaune and his team.

They were laughing now, a sound that grated on Cardin's nerves.

He saw Pyrrha collecting sap from a particularly tall tree, her concentration focused. Jaune was nearby, helping Nora and Ren.

"Alright, guys, let's get out of here," Cardin whispered to his team.

He didn't want to be caught. He just wanted to make a mess, to make Jaune and his friends miserable.

He raised the jar, his arm cocked back.

He aimed for the center of their group, hoping to drench them all in the sticky sweetness.

This would be perfect. They would be covered in sap, attracting Grimm, and looking utterly ridiculous.

He imagined their shocked faces, their angry shouts. It would be glorious.

With a grunt of effort, Cardin threw the jar.

It spun through the air, a golden brown projectile, heading straight for Jaune's back.

A cruel grin spread across Cardin's face.

But then, something impossible happened.

Just as the jar was about to hit, Jaune moved.

Not with a sudden jerk, but with a subtle shift, a slight twist of his body.

It was too fast for Cardin to fully register, almost as if Jaune had known it was coming.

The jar missed Jaune's back by mere inches, instead smashing against the trunk of a nearby tree with a wet thud. Maple sap splattered across the bark, glistening in the dappled sunlight.

Jaune turned slowly, his blue eyes locking onto Cardin. There was no anger in them, no surprise, just that same indifferent, almost bored look. He took a step forward, and Cardin instinctively recoiled.

"Cardin," Jaune said, his voice calm and level, devoid of any emotion. "Are you quite finished?"

Cardin felt a chill run down his spine.

He had expected anger, maybe even fear. But this… this quiet contempt was far worse. He stammered, unable to find his voice.

Suddenly, Pyrrha appeared beside Jaune, her arms crossed, a stern expression on her face.

"Cardin, this is a designated collection area. Your actions are disruptive and dangerous."

Team RWBY also approached, their expressions ranging from annoyed to outright disgusted.

Ruby's silver eyes narrowed, while Yang's fists clenched at her sides.

Cardin felt a prickle of fear. He had miscalculated. He had thought Jaune was still the weakling and just got a little lucky.

But he wasn't. Jaune had changed, and Cardin was now facing the consequences. He swallowed hard, his bravado quickly fading.

"I... I was just... kidding around," Cardin mumbled, trying to sound nonchalant, but his voice cracked slightly.

Jaune simply raised an eyebrow.

"Kidding around by attracting Grimm to our location? Is that your idea of humor?"

The mention of Grimm made Cardin's team visibly nervous. They knew the dangers of the forest, and intentionally drawing Grimm was a serious offense.

Glynda, who had been observing the entire exchange, finally stepped forward.

Her voice was sharp, cutting through the silence like a whip. "Mr. Winchester! What exactly do you think you are doing?"

Cardin flinched at Glynda's stern tone. He tried to stammer out an explanation, but no words came.

"This is not a playground, Mr. Winchester," Glynda continued, her eyes blazing.

"Your reckless behavior could have put everyone at risk. Attracting Grimm with sweet sap is incredibly foolish. Consider yourself lucky that they were able to react so quickly." She paused, her gaze hardening.

"You and your team will clean up every single drop of that sap. And then, you will report directly to Professor Ozpin for further disciplinary action."

Cardin's face fell. Cleaning up the sticky sap would be a nightmare, and facing Ozpin was even worse.

He shot a resentful glance at Jaune, but Jaune merely shook his head, a faint look of disappointment on his face.

"Move it, Mr. Winchester,"

Glynda commanded.

As Cardin and his team begrudgingly began their sticky task, Jaune turned back to his team.

"Alright, everyone, let's keep going. We've got sap to collect."

Team RWBY and JNPR resumed their work, their movements efficient and coordinated.

The incident with Cardin seemed to have barely fazed them.

They were focused, resilient, and stronger than ever.

Arthur watched them, a sense of pride swelling in his chest.

Beacon wouldn't fall easily, not with these students protecting it.

"Yup, please become stronger so I don't have to worry about you all when other dungeon climbers come to the third floor…"
