Chapter 282: You Don’t Even Give Your Disciple Any Treasures, You’re So Stingy
Gu Yi was once a highly talented sorcerer. Even among numerous sorcerers, she was captivating.
She attracted many admirers, but Gu Yi valued her responsibilities above all and remained emotionally detached. She rejected everyone, including Saixike. To make him stop bothering her, she fought Saixike in a duel.
Witnessed by many, Saixike was defeated miserably, losing face and not appearing before other sorcerers for centuries. Over the years, Saixike trained himself and mentored a disciple.
Gu Yi focused on protecting Earth, something Saixike wanted to challenge. That's why he reappeared now, confident in his ability to achieve this.
Gu Yi sympathetically looked at the young man behind Saixike. After all, her disciple was a terrifying being capable of battling gods.
"Gu Yi, I know this is your disciple. Let's have a duel between our disciples to see who is superior."
"I know you might use the excuse of exhausting your potential over the years, but even if you didn't say it, I had planned this anyway!" Saixike said confidently.
At this point, Qiao Yunshan also looked at Gu Yi. From Saixike's words, he intended for his disciples to fight and was confident in his victory.
Sorcerers, with age, master magic more profoundly. Strength alone does not define their power. While Gu Yi might seem weaker than Saixike in strength, her mastery of magic might surpass his. This is why Saixike wanted a duel between disciples, where things would be more straightforward.
Qiao Yunshan glanced at Wang Yang. This young man had exceptional control over magic, and if he fought Saixike's disciple, he might not lose. That might be why Gu Yi suggested the duel.
However, Gu Yi shook her head, "Forget it, I admit defeat."
Qiao Yunshan was stunned, as was Saixike.
"Are you afraid?" Saixike glanced at Wang Yang, noting his young age and the lack of powerful aura around him.
"Don't worry, it's just a spar. My disciple won't kill yours!" Saixike was determined. Gu Yi's retreat suggested she was no longer his equal, making him more interested.
Gu Yi sighed. Suggesting a duel was out of anger. Given Saixike's disciple and Wang Yang, Wang Yang's victory would be unremarkable. After cooling down, she preferred to concede. But Saixike's insistence left her no choice.
"Saixike, I'm doing this for your disciple's sake!"
"I've already admitted defeat. What more do you want?"
Saixike sneered, "For my disciple's sake? I must fight to prevent it from seeming like your disciple is superior!"
"It's just a duel!"
Saixike turned to Wang Yang, "Kid, would you represent Gu Yi? You should know, dueling is beneficial for sorcerers!"
Ignoring Gu Yi, he addressed Wang Yang directly.
Wang Yang looked at Gu Yi, who sighed and nodded.
"Alright, Wang Yang, spar with his disciple!"
Gu Yi whispered to Wang Yang, "Don't use your full strength!"
Wang Yang shook his head, thinking that not using full strength wouldn't help him improve. But since Gu Yi asked, he wouldn't refuse.
He stepped forward, "Since the Supreme Sorcerer has asked, I'll spar with him!"
Saixike instructed the young man, "Feng Ruisi, spar with him, use your full strength. That's respect!"
"Yes!" Feng Ruisi stepped forward and bowed slightly to Wang Yang.
"Gu Yi, Feng Ruisi is one of the most talented in our race. He has been my disciple for years," Saixike introduced proudly.
"Don't be fooled by his youth; his strength is no less than mine back then!"
Saixike was confident, mainly because of Feng Ruisi's magic staff.
"Don't worry, Feng Ruisi won't go too hard. You'll see!"
Saixike's confidence made Gu Yi shake her head.
"Let's hope you remain this confident later," Gu Yi thought.
"But fighting here might cause issues," Saixike noted, worried about tearing the space again.
"Into the Mirror Dimension!" Gu Yi suggested, waving her hand to reveal the entrance.
"Let's go in. Fighting inside won't affect the outside," Gu Yi said.
They all nodded and entered one by one.
Saixike boasted, "Gu Yi, you'll be amazed by my disciple's power!"
Gu Yi glanced at Saixike, shaking her head.
Not knowing her disciple's strength, Saixike's confidence was misplaced.
Wang Yang followed, feeling slightly resigned. He came to explore the multiverse's sorcerers, not to duel. Still, he was interested in the fight, especially since Feng Ruisi wasn't human and might use different magic.
"Feng Ruisi, since we're sparring, you can make the first move," Wang Yang, having godly power, said.
After receiving Saixike's command, Feng Ruisi wielded a magic staff and began chanting.
Wang Yang found this amusing. Non-instant magic was risky, but he was curious about the spell.
Gu Yi, Qiao Yunshan, and Saixike observed, each with different expressions.
Saixike was confident, not just in Feng Ruisi's strength but in his staff, a family treasure.
"I didn't expect your race to give such a treasure to a child!" Qiao Yunshan said, surprised.
Gu Yi was also surprised but, knowing Wang Yang's strength wasn't worried.
"It's a great treasure, but only in a strong wielder's hands. The staff is the same!"
"He may be young, but he's our race's strongest, most talented child. The staff acknowledged him!"
"He mastered our race's strongest forbidden technique in ten years!"
"He's destined for greatness," Saixike praised Feng Ruisi.
He then taunted Gu Yi, "But your disciple has nothing but a cloak. So stingy!"
