Marvel: My Eyes Defies Fate.

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Using Geass on Mary.

"Endless blood soaked the orphanage courtyard... Damn it, how did it come to this?"

Kurogai shot to his feet, face pale and eyes filled with fury. The vision he'd just witnessed through his Geass was devastating.

"Is it Hydra... or S.H.I.E.L.D.? Who made the first move?"

He forced himself to calm down. Now wasn't the time to analyze. There would be time for that later—if there was a later. Right now, he needed to act.

In his two lifetimes, Kurogai had learned to let go of many attachments. But even in this hardened heart, two names had carved a place.

Director Mary—the kind, selfless woman who had treated him like a son.

Skye—the fragile but bright girl who'd begun to melt the walls he'd built around himself.

He didn't care what kind of forces were involved. He couldn't let them die. He wouldn't.

---

"Brother Kurogai… did I do something wrong?"

Skye's small voice broke the silence. She stood in front of him, wide-eyed and trembling, sensing the sudden change in his demeanor.

Tears pooled at the corners of her eyes.

"No, it's not you," Kurogai said gently, crouching down to her level. "Skye, I need you to do something important for me. Go to the others and tell them Director Mary wants everyone in the hall. Can you do that?"

Skye blinked through her tears, then nodded determinedly. "I will, Brother Kurogai!"

She turned and sprinted off on her small feet, vanishing around the corner.

"Now… Director Mary."

---

Kurogai headed straight for the kitchen. As expected, she was still there, preparing lunch with calm efficiency.

"Little Asta? What are you doing here—are you hungry?" Director Mary asked with a kind smile, surprised to see him in a place he rarely visited.

Kurogai didn't waste time. "Director Mary, there's no time to explain. A disaster is coming. You need to take everyone and leave—right now."

Director Mary blinked, confused. "Asta, are you feeling okay? What do you mean, disaster?"

She reached out and touched his forehead, concerned he might have a fever.

"I'm sorry," Kurogai muttered under his breath. "No time."

His heterochromatic eyes flashed—left violet, right gold—as they lit up with glowing crimson light. The inverted "V" of the Geass appeared in both eyes like the wings of an eagle.

"Director Mary, go to the hall. Take everyone and leave the orphanage immediately. Go to the park half a kilometer from here. Do not return for at least two hours. That is an order."

Geass Ability: Absolute Command — Activated.

A crimson glow passed over Director Mary's eyes. Her expression went blank, then focused with robotic clarity.

"I'll do it."

She put down her utensils and calmly turned to leave the kitchen, walking toward the hall without hesitation.

---

In the main hall, her voice rang out clearly.

"Everyone, follow me. We're leaving—now."

With Director Mary in the lead, the children obeyed without resistance. Confused and murmuring questions, they nonetheless followed her out of the building and down the road.

Everyone... except one.

---

"Brother Kurogai!"

Skye stood defiantly at the front steps, eyes red but firm. "Something's wrong, I know it. I don't want to leave you!"

Her voice trembled, but her stance didn't budge. Life in the orphanage had taught her to cling to the few people who made her feel safe—and Kurogai was one of them.

He knelt before her again, eyes soft.

"Skye, you need to trust me. Go with Director Mary. I promise I'll come for you as soon as I take care of something."

She shook her head furiously. "No! I won't go!"

Tears flowed freely now. Deep down, she could feel it—if she walked away now, she might never see him again.

Kurogai sighed, his expression darkening with reluctant resolve.

His eyes flared again.

"Go with Director Mary. Do not return within two hours."

The Geass took effect immediately. A red glow appeared in Skye's tear-filled eyes. Her resistance vanished. She turned and ran after the others—but the tears didn't stop.

Kurogai stood silently until their figures disappeared down the street.

Only then did he move.

---

The orphanage was empty.

Now... it was time to prepare for war.

---

Kurogai moved swiftly. He returned to the rooms and began pulling out every mirror he could find. Wall mirrors, hand mirrors, bathroom mirrors—anything with a reflective surface.

He placed them at strategic points throughout the building: corridors, entryways, blind spots, and corners. Anywhere that could serve as a trap.

His Geass required eye contact. But direct eye contact during a gunfight? Risky.

Which is why the mirrors were essential.

Reflection still counted. He'd tested it once before. If someone made eye contact with his reflection—his Geass could still activate.

And that made the mirrors not just tools—but weapons.

The orphanage placed a lot of emphasis on self-image. Every room had mirrors. That abundance now played to his advantage.

In minutes, the entire orphanage was rigged—each room, each hall, each vantage point optimized for ambush. Even the most inconspicuous corners shimmered with hidden glass.

His battlefield was ready.

"They want a fight?" Kurogai muttered, his voice cold and low. "Then let's give them one."
