Marvel: My Eyes Defies Fate.

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Using Geass on himself.

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

A supersonic jet descended swiftly onto the school's tarmac. The hatch opened, and Cyclops carefully wheeled Professor X down the ramp. Standing at the edge of the landing platform was Jean Grey, wearing a white lab coat, already waiting for them.

"Professor, where's the new mutant?"

Jean glanced around, surprised to see only the two of them returning. She had hoped to meet the mysterious new mutant—someone so powerful he could disturb her—but there was no sign of him.

"We were too late," Professor X replied, his voice tight with urgency. "Prepare Cerebro. Now."

Jean's expression shifted. The professor's tone made it clear—this wasn't just curiosity anymore. It was concern.

---

Back inside the mansion, Professor X wasted no time. He had seen too much.

What he had glimpsed inside Natasha Romanoff's memories unsettled him.

The mutant—Kurogai—possessed a terrifying power. His potential alone had stirred the Phoenix Force slumbering within Jean, something that almost never happened. That in itself meant Kurogai wasn't just gifted—he was dangerous.

More worrying, however, was his mindset.

Professor X had seen blood.

Cold, calculated extermination. Hundreds of Hydra agents slaughtered without hesitation. Not in self-defense. Not in chaos. Controlled. Executed.

He reminded Charles of Magneto in his darkest years. And yet… there was something different. Something that gave the Professor hope.

Kurogai hadn't attacked first. Hydra had provoked him. And for all the bloodshed, it hadn't been for domination—it had been for survival. Perhaps there was still a way to guide him.

But if he was wrong—if Kurogai leaned further into darkness—he could become something far worse than Magneto.

And that's why Charles had to find him.

---

Inside the underground chamber of the X-Mansion, Charles lowered himself into the Cerebro module, placing the enhanced helmet over his head. A moment later, his mind stretched outward across the world—searching.

---

Elsewhere…

In a luxury villa on the outskirts of the city, Kurogai lounged on a pool chair in casual pajamas, half-submerged in warm water. His mismatched eyes—one violet, one gold—shone faintly beneath his damp hair.

He had settled here temporarily after dismantling Hydra's base, having mentally "persuaded" a local millionaire to lend him the estate.

He needed rest.

Though he possessed the intellect of an adult, his body was still that of a six-year-old. And after the mental strain of confronting Whitehall, even he had limits.

But suddenly—he felt it.

A presence. An oppressive force pressing into his mind.

His eyes snapped open.

"Who's there?"

"Don't be afraid, child. I am your companion."

A calm, mature voice echoed in his consciousness.

Kurogai's body tensed. His eyes narrowed.

"You're Professor X."

He had imagined this meeting before. Speaking mind-to-mind with Charles Xavier. But not like this.

Now… he was furious.

If Xavier could enter his mind this effortlessly, what else might he see?

Kurogai's memories were dangerous. The Ultimate Eye, future knowledge of this universe… If even a fraction of that was exposed, it could alter the world's balance—and not in a good way.

"Why are you here?" he demanded. "What do you want?"

"You've awakened a powerful ability," Charles said gently. "It's not something to fear. It's part of who you are. And I can teach you to control it."

"I've founded a school for people like us. I'm inviting you to join us."

Kurogai's response was immediate.

"I know. And I refuse."

His voice was cold. Sharpened by suspicion.

"And I won't allow you to invade my mind again."

As he spoke, his mismatched eyes flared crimson. The Geass symbol—an inverted V—blazed across both irises and reflected in the surface of the pool.

He gave himself a command.

"No living being may ever enter my mind."

The Geass activated. Its power surged inward.

He wasn't using it on someone else—he was using it on himself.

A command written into his own psyche: a permanent mental firewall.

It was a trick Lelouch once used—to restrict himself. Kurogai now did the same.

Xavier's voice became faint.

"Wait—listen to me—"

Then silence.

Professor X's mind was forcefully expelled from Kurogai's consciousness.

The link was gone.

---

Kurogai exhaled, jaw tight. If Xavier could so casually peer into his thoughts from across the world… what would happen if he actually lived at the school?

He couldn't risk it.

Even if Professor X seemed benevolent—this was reality, not fiction. Blind trust was a luxury he didn't have.

He had seen what happened to people who placed their fate in others' hands.

Not him.

He would control his own destiny.
