Chapter 239: Battle on the Bifrost
With a casual toss, Loki flung Thor dozens of meters away, slamming him hard into the grand gates of Asgard. In a blink, Loki appeared before his fallen brother, crouched slightly, a smug grin curling on his lips as he looked down at Thor, who lay weakly on the ground.
"If you're so invincible..." Thor struggled to his feet, rubbing his throat, before glancing at Loki and asking coldly, "Then why haven't you succeeded yet?"
The smirk froze on Loki's face. His expression darkened instantly. Just as he was about to teach his brother a painful lesson, the gates of the palace creaked open.
A green-skinned orc strode in and, upon seeing Loki, immediately dropped to his knees in reverence.
"I told you, unless it's urgent, don't disturb me," Loki snapped, visibly annoyed.
"Yes, my lord," the orc responded humbly, "but someone is attacking Asgard."

At the Rainbow Bridge…
Gene, now clad in reforged Uru-alloy armor, led the Warriors Three and Lady Sif to the bridge, only to find Loki's forces already lined up, battle-ready.
"Loki's gone and dragged Asgard's name through the mud," Volstagg growled, his face flushed red with rage as he scanned the bizarre creatures crowding the bridge.
It was clear Loki had worked tirelessly to seize the throne and tighten his grip on the Nine Realms. He had formed alliances with a variety of unsavory forces—frost giants from Jotunheim, green-skinned orcs, and all manner of grotesque monsters. Every one of them looked like they belonged in shadows, not in the glory of Asgard.
As Gene and his group faced them, they could feel tens of thousands of venomous eyes fixed on them. The air trembled with hostility.
Then, someone roared.
With that one scream, Loki's "army" surged forward like a crashing wave. Despite the distance, the sheer intensity of their charge was palpable. Sif and the others could feel an overwhelming pressure bearing down on them—as if even the Rainbow Bridge beneath their feet began to tremble slightly.
Even the battle-hardened Warriors of Asgard were momentarily stunned.
Hogun licked his lips nervously and muttered, "Alright… I hate to admit it, but the enemy is overwhelming. I'm not making excuses here, but… we might not make it past this."
Without a word, Gene stepped forward. A brilliant blue glow erupted from his body. He calmly raised his arm—energy climbing rapidly to its peak—and unleashed a devastating palm blast.
A spear-like beam of piercing azure energy shot forth, engulfing the Rainbow Bridge.
The creatures charging in front were instantly vaporized.
Yes—vaporized. In the literal sense. Not even bones remained.
Loki's massive formation was shredded apart like paper, their seemingly unbreakable front line torn to bits.
The entire assault ground to a halt. Some intelligent beings stared blankly at the dark gray figure in the distance, still processing what had just happened. Even the mindless beasts sensed the danger and froze in place.
Gene's attack combined the energy of the Terrigen Crystals, the Space Stone, and the mystical power of Uru metal. Its destructive power was unimaginable.
Not only were Loki's troops stunned, but even the Warriors of Asgard stood dumbfounded. That one strike… it carried a colossal energy that made one thought creep into their minds—though absurd and impossible, the feeling was undeniable.
Gene, a mortal from Midgard, had just displayed power that rivaled even Odin.
Now, Loki's forces stood barely ten meters from Gene. But they didn't move. It was as if time had stopped. None dared to step forward or retreat. They just stood there, like frozen statues—awkward and absurd in their hesitation.
The frost giants and green-skinned orcs looked at one another, their eyes filled with a shared question:
Are we really… still going to charge?
But that pause was fleeting.
Gene wasn't about to give them time to think.
He launched himself into their ranks like a cannonball. Twin golden blades appeared in his palms—the Divine Swords of the Vishanti—now repurposed into instruments of pure slaughter. Everything in Gene's path was sliced cleanly in half, bisected by his gleaming swords.
At the same time, the weapons system embedded in his armor roared to life. Explosions of light and the golden flashes of his blades turned Loki's army into a chaotic massacre.
At this rate, Gene alone could wipe them out.
Lady Sif, the only female among the Warriors of Asgard, drew her sword in one swift motion and shouted, "What are we waiting for?! This is our battle! We can't let a man from Midgard fight alone on the front lines!"
The other three finally snapped out of their daze, gripped their weapons, and with a thunderous war cry, charged into the fray.
