Marvel: Start As A Genius Magician In Asgard

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Thor And The Three Warriors

After leaving the Magic Academy, Aaron put aside other plans and prepared to head straight back to his residence to practice magic.

The joy of awakening his Golden Finger made him eager to avoid wasting any time.

Time is power.

Others might not want to work hard because they fear their efforts won't be rewarded.

But for Aaron, every bit of hard work pays off, and the harder he works, the stronger he becomes. In this case, it would be madness for anyone to act differently!

However, as soon as Aaron stepped out of the Magic Academy gates, he was stopped by someone.

"Hey, Aaron! Loki was right—you came here to learn magic," a bold voice called out.

The owner of the voice was Thor, with his signature blond hair.

Since Aaron's consciousness as a time traveler had awakened, he had begun carefully planning for the future.

Learning magic was one thing; finding ways to deal with Thor and his companions was another.

At least in Asgard, getting along with Thor's group would make life much easier.

Don't be fooled by Thor's carefree demeanor or his blind confidence in his own strength. To the people of Earth, he might seem like an egomaniac.

But in Asgard, Thor is an object of worship and admiration.

As the future king and the strongest warrior after Odin, his arrogance is seen as a reflection of his self-confidence.

Now that Aaron was in the Marvel world and part of Asgard, there was absolutely no harm in befriending Thor.

And that's exactly what Aaron did.

With the help of a certain drinking party, he successfully integrated himself into Thor's inner circle.

The relationship between them was now quite good.

Aaron greeted Thor and the others behind him warmly, his demeanor friendly and accommodating.

"Why are you all here? Don't tell me you came specifically to wait for me?" Aaron asked.

Behind Thor stood Loki, the Warriors Three, and the renowned female warrior Sif.

At that moment, everyone except Loki looked at Aaron with kind smiles.

They had a good impression of this well-spoken and hardworking young man.

"Of course! You're our friend. We had to wait for you," Thor laughed, patting Aaron on the shoulder. Then, his true intentions surfaced. "Let's go have a drink together! Also, why bother coming here to learn magic? Loki's a magic genius. Whatever you want to learn, he can teach you."

Hearing this, Loki smiled politely, though Aaron couldn't help but sense reluctance in his expression.

It wasn't that Aaron had never considered asking Loki for guidance.

While Loki's reputation as the number one magician in the Nine Realms might be somewhat exaggerated, there was no denying that his magical skills were extensive.

If Loki were truly willing to teach, Aaron wouldn't have needed to come to the academy to study.

But Loki was the god of mischief and trickery. Asking him for help with magic was akin to inviting trouble.

Dealing with someone as cunning as Loki required a certain level of strength.

It was dangerous to associate with a high-intelligence individual like Loki before Aaron had the power to protect himself.

Additionally, whether it was due to Loki's Frost Giant heritage or something else, Aaron felt a subconscious aversion to him.

These thoughts couldn't be voiced openly, though. Aaron wasn't ready to offend anyone just yet. He needed to maintain his current relationships until he was more established.

"There's no need to trouble Loki. I just had a sudden interest in learning magic, and I wouldn't want to waste Loki's time with my temporary hobby," Aaron replied diplomatically.

"Nonsense! We're friends, and friends help each other. It's not a waste of time. Right, Loki?" Thor grinned, turning to his brother.

Loki smiled and nodded in agreement, though inwardly, he was less than pleased with Thor's eagerness to offer his time and energy to gain Aaron's favor.

If Loki didn't know better, he might have suspected his brother of having ulterior motives. But Thor's straightforward nature made it clear that he was simply being his usual self.

Thor, oblivious to Loki's reluctance, took his brother's smile as approval and laughed heartily.

"See? I told you! You should learn from Loki in the future. He might not be much of a fighter, but his magic tricks are pretty good."

Thor's use of the word "tricks" to describe magic didn't sit well with Loki.

In Thor's eyes, a true warrior should defeat their opponent with honor and strength.

Magic, with its illusions and sensory deceptions, was anything but honorable.

Of course, part of Thor's disdain stemmed from Loki's habit of using magic to play pranks on others—including his own brother.

"My dear brother, do you really think my magic is just a trick? Perhaps I should turn you into a frog and let you experience firsthand what you call a 'trick,'" Loki retorted, his tone laced with sarcasm.

Loki prided himself on being the number one magician in the Nine Realms. To have his craft reduced to mere "tricks" was insulting.

"Loki, that's exactly why your magic is a trick. Others use magic against enemies, but you use it to play pranks on your friends," Sif interjected, frowning.

The Warriors Three nodded in agreement with Thor and Sif.

As elite warriors, they held little respect for Loki's habit of using magic to tease and deceive.

They even harbored a certain disdain for magic itself.

However, as friends, they didn't object to Aaron learning magic.

At least in terms of character, Aaron was far more reliable than Loki.

More importantly, Aaron had earned his place in their group through his own abilities.

After all, simply being a good drinker wasn't enough to gain the respect of Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three.

The strong only befriend the strong.

While the Warriors Three and Sif might not match Thor's strength, they were still far superior to the average Asgardian.

Take Sif, for example—the strongest female warrior of Asgard's new generation.

Or Fandral, one of the Warriors Three, a renowned swordsman whose skill with a blade even earned Thor's praise.

Even Volstagg, the heaviest of the trio, shouldn't be underestimated. In his youth, he possessed incredible strength, and despite his current size, his defensive capabilities were unmatched among the Warriors Three.

"Well, you're not wrong," Loki conceded, accustomed to being isolated by the group.

He turned to Aaron and said, "Aaron, magic is a profound and complex art. Without a certain level of talent, I'd advise against pursuing it lightly. It could end up being a waste of your time."

"After all, not everyone can become a great magician."

Unable to argue with the Warriors Three or Thor, Loki subtly directed his criticism toward Aaron.

At that moment, other magic apprentices began pouring out of the academy.

When they saw Aaron standing with Thor and his companions, they were visibly impressed.

"No wonder Aaron's magical abilities are so advanced. He's friends with Prince Thor!" one apprentice remarked.

"With his talent, he'll probably become a powerful magician and fight alongside Prince Thor in no time," another added.

"Don't be jealous. He's a magical genius—even Teacher Irene is impressed. We can't compare," a third said.

A group of girls looked at Aaron with envy as they chatted.

This scene didn't go unnoticed by Thor and his companions, who glanced at Loki with meaningful expressions.

Loki's face darkened, and he muttered awkwardly, "The first day doesn't prove anything. They're just apprentices. What do they know about the true difficulty of magic?"

But his excuses fell on deaf ears.

The group was well aware of Loki's nature and chose to ignore his defensiveness.

They were far more interested in what the apprentices had to say than in arguing with Loki.

Especially Fandral, who is a self-proclaimed playboy, acts a little out of character when he sees young women, and now he exaggerates even more.

"I'm not mistaken, this year's magician apprentices are all girls! To be honest, Aaron, did you come because of them?"

"You're not being a good friend. Why didn't you ask me to come with you? I actually like magic too, it's amazing! So enchanting..."

Fandral's exaggerated words were met with blank stares.

Aaron, who had long been accustomed to Fandral's antics, spread his arms and said helplessly, "If you really want to come, I can talk to the magic teacher. Maybe you can pass the test."

"Forget it. With the romantic aura I exude, I can attract women's affection anywhere."

Fandral flamboyantly danced with a sword, then straightened his hair after sheathing it, as if it made him look more handsome.

"Aaron, I didn't realize you were a magical genius!" Sif said, looking at Aaron with bright eyes.

As a woman, she had a keen sixth sense. From the beginning of this meeting, she had felt that Aaron was different from usual, more confident, full of vigor and vitality.

Aaron, without a hint of pride, downplayed his magical abilities displayed in the classroom and simply smiled modestly, "Compared to Loki, I'm still far behind."

No one objected to Aaron's humble remark, as Loki's magical prowess was indeed extraordinary. Thor, who had grown up with Loki's magical tricks, was well aware of his brother's abilities.

If Loki dedicated his time to mastering magic instead of playing pranks, he might even surpass King Odin himself. However, Loki's ambitions lay elsewhere.

"Alright, everyone, stop lingering here. Let's drink and see who can hold their liquor best today!" Thor called out, cutting the conversation short as they hurried to the reception.

Unbeknownst to them, Aaron had used illusion magic while they were distracted. The energy entity duplication produced by his Level 3 illusion magic was so realistic that it could even mimic the combat abilities of the original. For something as simple as drinking, it was indistinguishable from the real thing.

No one noticed Aaron's trick, not even Loki. While Loki was knowledgeable in magic, his expertise in illusion magic had perhaps been surpassed by Aaron at this point.

Had Loki paid closer attention, he might have detected the ruse, but he couldn't fathom that Aaron, on his first day, could wield such advanced magic.

Loki's confidence in his own abilities blinded him to the possibility that someone else could achieve what he couldn't.

After Aaron replaced himself with the energy entity duplication and left with Thor and the others, he quietly returned to his residence alone.

...

"Queen, a genius has emerged from the Academy of Magic! No, a monster!"

As soon as class ended, Irene rushed to the Golden Hall without pause. Frigga was sitting in her study, leisurely reading a magic book, when Irene's excited voice echoed from outside the door.

"Irene, it's not even the end of the school day. What's this about a monster?" Frigga asked, intrigued.

Irene, who was quite skilled in magic herself, had never referred to anyone as a "monster" before, let alone a new student.

"It's Aaron! An apprentice who just started learning magic," Irene explained after entering the study and bowing to Frigga. She then recounted what she had witnessed today.

"Following the usual curriculum, I taught the apprentices how to sense magical energy today. While the others were still struggling, Aaron sensed it instantly. In just one hour, he achieved what takes most people days of practice!"

"Not only that, but I also made an exception to teach him illusion magic. He grasped it after a single explanation and quickly mastered it to an advanced level. I saw him create an energy entity duplication with my own eyes. His skill in illusion magic is nearly on par with mine!"

"On top of that, he learned spatial storage magic in one go and can now store and retrieve objects at will. I've never seen anyone with such extraordinary magical talent. Aaron is truly a monster when it comes to magic!"

"Is it really that remarkable?" Frigga was stunned by Irene's account. A beginner who could master a spell in a week was already considered a genius. What Irene described was unprecedented in Asgard's history. If true, calling Aaron a "monster" was no exaggeration.

"Aaron... that name sounds familiar," Frigga mused. "I recall Thor mentioning a new friend he made recently, I believe his name was Aaron. Could it be the same person?"

"It seems Thor has made quite an impressive friend," Frigga said, pleased for her son. With Aaron's magical abilities, he could potentially be a helper for Thor in protecting Asgard in the future.

However, Frigga still found it hard to believe that Aaron possessed such extraordinary talent. It sounded almost too incredible.

Irene continued, "Queen, Aaron's abilities are so advanced that I fear I won't be able to teach him much longer. I suggest you take him under your wing!"

Before becoming Queen of Asgard, Frigga had been a powerful Vanir warrior and a renowned sorceress.

After marrying Odin, she had only taught one person—Loki. While Loki was skilled in magic, Frigga's knowledge and power surpassed his.

However, her long years of peace had diminished her combat experience, though her teaching abilities remained unmatched.

After a moment of thought, Frigga said, "If Aaron is truly as exceptional as you say, it would be inappropriate for him to remain in your class. It might hinder the progress of the other apprentices.

Therefore, I will make an exception and allow him to join an advanced magic class. He may also seek guidance from any teacher in the academy."

Irene was delighted by Frigga's decision. While Frigga couldn't personally teach Aaron due to her responsibilities as queen, her acknowledgment of his potential was significant.

With the combined expertise of all the academy's teachers, Aaron's education would be in good hands.

"Understood, Queen," Irene replied with a bow.
