Chapter 297: Chapter 297: The Whereabouts of Jane Foster
On the Ravager ship, Alan pushed open a door and casually tossed Yondu's arrow and fin back to him.
"I think I've seen enough of your weapon, Yondu. They're quite exquisitely crafted."
Yondu stood up, tucked the arrow into his coat, and placed the fin on his head.
"But your ring—well, I couldn't make sense of it. It seems broken." Yondu handed the Green Lantern ring back to Alan. As soon as it touched Alan, it emitted a bright glow and automatically slipped onto his finger.
"You must've been mistaken. But our deal is complete, and I'll be leaving soon."
"Where are you headed, Emperor?" Yondu suddenly asked, sounding unusually concerned. After all, for Ravagers like him, knowing the Emperor's whereabouts was critical—he wouldn't want his crew accidentally offending someone so powerful.
Alan replied, "Quill and I are heading to a remote set of coordinates. I'm going there to find someone."
"Quill!" Yondu bellowed, and Peter Quill, who was drinking outside, rushed in immediately.
"Yondu! Were you calling me?"
Yondu stood and asked, "Where are you going with the Emperor?"
Quill glanced at Alan, unsure if he should answer. Alan nodded in approval.
Quill said, "That place isn't within the Nine Realms. I've only been there once before."
With that, Alan projected a set of coordinates using the Green Lantern ring. When Yondu saw it, he gasped and covered his mouth in shock.
"Oh! That's Knowhere! Are you really planning to go there?"
Knowhere, a mysterious corner of the Marvel Universe, wasn't a planet but rather the severed head of a Celestial. It was the residence of Taneleer Tivan, the Collector.
The Collector was one of the Elders of the Universe. Though he appeared to be an ancient human, he was actually an alien with abilities such as immortality, time travel, and precognition. While he would eventually be killed by Thanos in pursuit of the Power Stone, the Power Stone was currently in Alan's possession.
Hearing Yondu's words, Alan asked, "What kind of place is Knowhere exactly?"
"It's the Collector's residence. He lives there alone, and his home is filled with all sorts of dangerous traps to protect his collection. No one knows how long he's lived there. But long ago, he lost a bet to Hela and was punished—he's forbidden from ever entering the Realm of Death."
"Wow, what a twist!" Alan couldn't help but comment sarcastically. Yet another connection to Hela—it seemed inevitable that their paths would cross.
"Are you really going to Knowhere?" Yondu asked Alan once more, trying to confirm.
Alan nodded resolutely, then departed the Ravager ship with Quill.
Once everyone was seated, Quill selected an upbeat track, and they leapt into hyperspace toward Knowhere. The last known coordinates of Jane Foster were there. Alan speculated that the Collector might have abducted her, hoping to obtain the Reality Stone. However, in the Marvel Universe, the Collector wasn't inherently evil—he likely wouldn't harm Jane Foster.
The space in front of their ship warped as they exited the jump. Knowhere loomed ahead. By now, Alan and the others had grown accustomed to the disorienting sensation of post-jump travel.
"We're here. This is the Collector's domain," Quill said softly.
Everyone looked up, and outside the ship lay a world shrouded in dense, swirling mist.
