Chapter 2610: 2610. Those Who Will Travel
When Mordant arrived a little later, he managed to take the dark wing race with him. They were interested in the fact that he was the strongest dark affinity being and the ruler of the dark territory. This was also a good chance for Walker to focus on the fact that some people had already been brought together to venture in to the elemental planes.
The radiant light elves also expressed tiredness. It was clear that the change in environment was having an effect on them and they would need some time and a place to rest. Like the dark win race, a few of the healers with proper affinity and mages were able to draw in and condense more light and dark mana for both races.
While this was making things easier for them to be within the world. It was also a way for people to learn how to make the environments a little more welcoming to future guests. Especially the rune carvers making smaller rune formations to help gather mana. They would be temporary formations but they needed to be efficient and potent.
All good things that matched the good which already come from the many conversations between the races of the light and dark elemental planes and the world. However, the notes made about different monsters, plants, and magical skills were significant.
The radiant light elves had traded seeds already allowing for researchers to begin. This was the same for Alma who had some sealed seeds brought from the experimental light mana greenhouses. This would be a good way for the radiant length elves to test out some new crops but also as an attempt to experiment with the plants of the world being brought in to an even denser mana area that matched their affinity.
A few farmers and herbalists had theorized that not every plant had the natural affinity to survive within a pure environment of mana perfectly matched for them. They needed the other manas to balance and allow for the regulation of mana as a whole throughout their growth. But some didn't need to rely on soil or watering as much as others and those were the best potential for new growth.
The monster knowledge from the dark wing race was significantly larger than what the radiant light elves knew of from the light elemental planes. The dark wing race was nomadic and this was decidedly a small group of them compared to how many were roaming the elemental planes and awaiting their return.
Since they traveled boundaries they often saw in to those boundaries, fought monsters from them, and even spotted monsters from the opposing elemental panes creating those boundaries. They had information and names for monsters that had never been seen or recorded by the world. It was important to learn of them though, since they would be risks when others went traveling in to the elemental planes.
Magic though, that was something both races had and were able to share. While the dark wing race and the radiant light elves were amazed in their own right by the magical skills that the world had since the skills varied by manas, they also had a greater deal of magic to share.
The dark wing race empowered themselves with dark mana. They absorbed dark mana through their wings keeping a trait that the angels had as a race as a whole. However, they had adapted and their bodies had become smaller while their internal mana storage had grown more tolerant due to the dark elemental planes. They were faster and able to use that dark mana to strengthen themselves while adding the mana to their attacks with whatever weapons they held. Their magic was one of strengthening and transferring.
The radiant light elves were different. They were somewhat similar to the mages of the world in the essence that they created attacks to send at distance. That was the key though, distance.
The radiant light elves focused on long ranged magical attacks. Not just larger scale, but specifically individual targeting. Their ability to see further and to create spikes, arrows, or even spears from light to throw out at a far away enemy was well above what many of the world would be able to do with a lot of training.
This was all because they had lived more guarded lives. The radiant light elves had a guardian and a solid place to live. While they learned less about all the light elemental plane and the other elemental planes, they were able to focus on their magical growth. The only issue is when they had to move they lost chunks of their knowledge and history which presented them with the fear they would go backwards and not forwards with their magical research.
Both had arrived with a lot to offer Genesis and the trade of knowledge was already above anything expected. It was a perfect start that hopefully would last a few weeks.
Midnight took Walker toward where some of the waiting participants to travel in to the different elemental planes would be. Onyx also moved along since he had a few of the younger serpents to suggest. The odds were that it would not be an individual but a small group for each that would rely on one another for their safety and also education while within each elemental plane.
The nice part was, Onyx had the light and the dark affinity serpents under him, so he would send those capable of resisting the light within the light elemental planes and those who wished to focus on their dark affinity and learn more of that. Both with potential healing skills since he had handpicked a dark and light healer from those wishing to go. It was his safeguard for the participants.
Walker wasn't meeting them just yet, instead, he waited within a side room of the Genesis building and read through their paperwork. The elder dragons suggested they were all at the cost of growth. They had halted as they needed time and the right place to develop to the next level of strength. By going to the elemental planes they would both be able to step in to that strength but potentially branch off in a more unique direction. Something they wished to do as elders of the dragon race able to represent it as the best it could possibly be.
One of the light elder dragons was still outside since she was unable to take dragonkin form. The idea that she would be able to once she gained strength within the light elemental plane made some sense. However, she might be able to take a new path that was interesting.
It wasn't a surprise seeing a group of harpies and batmen that wanted to go to the wind elemental plane. One of the batman race was trying to focus entirely on his wind affinity to keep up with the harpies. While Walker suspected some other reasoning related to one of the harpies also venturing to the wind elemental planes, it was good that there was defined motivation to explore and grow.
Merfolk and a few water elves along with a water affinity wyvern who was also outside wished to go to the water elemental plane. They seemed to be the most well equipped groups who had met during some joint training. Not many wyverns had come to Genesis other than the earth wyverns so this water affinity wyvern was a rarity even amongst wyverns.
When it came to fire, there were a few alchemists wishing to risk the adventure to discover new methods of flame. No ways to utilize their fire so that they might be able to create better and more advanced potions. That was similar to the two farmers who came to try for the earth elemental plane. They also wished to step beyond what they knew of the earth.
Walker didn't push anyone away since they all had the resistances to manage these ventures. However, it was the mixed groups of healers who wished to enter that he questioned. While they all had different affinities, one was a new form of healer, the life healer.
They wished to venture in and find a life elemental plane somewhere. Grasp what life truly meant.
While Walker wanted to encourage them, he couldn't say yes. Simply because life and death elemental planes were not easy to encounter nor easy to survive and even venture in to. He didn't even know if there was a true death and true life sage out there to communicate with. Let alone if they could or would communicate with him.
The same went for space and time. He couldn't make any promises for either. It left him a little stumped on what to say to the young life healer before him.
