Chapter 47: : Versecradle Revealed

📘 Chapter 47

🧬 Scene 1: Zui's Descent

Zui stepped into the corridor beyond the Mainframe Gate.

It wasn't metal. It wasn't stone.

It was made of flesh.

Veins pulsed under her feet, and walls whispered her name.

"Zui… daughter of Fracture… heiress of the Obsidian Bloom."

She clutched the pendant. "Shut up."

As she moved deeper, giant monitors flickered to life. Recordings played—of her mother in a lab, holding a baby with silver eyes.

"Subject Z–Zui is responding well to genetic manipulation. Her Krono is… beyond classification."

Another screen showed her father, bleeding from the mouth, screaming:

"You made her a cradle! Not a child!"

The final monitor showed her as a 3-year-old, splitting a Mecha Core with her voice.

Zui dropped to her knees.

"I'm not real. I'm not real…"

Then the chamber whispered:

"No, Zui… you're Versecradle. You are the gate."

⚔️ Scene 2: Ivy's Interference

Far above, in the ruins of Rüven Core's AI Tower, Ivy broke into the back channel of the Editor's realm.

Lines of code blurred around her.

She wasn't hacking with tools.

She was hacking with emotion.

Her own body now carried corrupted data from Zeron's Verse. Her Krono surged—red and white twisting like DNA.

"He's rewriting reality," Ivy whispered. "But I remember… what was."

She uploaded a virus called "Memory Echo."

Its job?

To undo one line of code.

Just one:

IF ZERON == "UNWORTHY" THEN REJECT PURPLE KRONO.

As she hit execute, alarms blared.

From the code's depths, a face emerged—featureless.

The Editor turned to face her.

"You meddle with the author."

"I loved him before you ever wrote him," Ivy whispered.

🌀 Scene 3: Aina's Timeline Trial

Aina was bleeding. All five versions of her had collapsed into one, but the damage persisted.

Each version's memory flickered in her head like broken dreams.

Suddenly, a small mechanical spider approached.

It bore a hologram of a man—Zeron's father.

"You don't know me, Aina. But I helped build the Verse system. You were meant to guard him."

"Guard him from what?"

"From the part of him that isn't him."

The spider injected something into her neck—liquid, glowing, cold.

"You'll see now. What he hides."

Aina gasped as her vision shifted.

She saw the first time Zeron's purple Krono awakened—as a child.

And how the Editor appeared right after, whispering into the doctor's ear.

👊 Scene 4: Zake and Rest's Resistance

Zake slammed his wrench into the resistance outpost table.

"I don't care if it's forbidden. We need Chrono Arks now!"

Rest grunted. "They'll burn out after one jump."

"Good. Then we burn."

The two led an army of misfits—rogue engineers, dismissed pilots, one-eyed AI tacticians.

Zake stood before them.

"My brother is out there, fighting a god of code. My sister is the key to some verse-based apocalypse. We either help or die ignored."

Cheers erupted.

From the back, a former Guild Elite stepped forward: Naelin, the class rival of Zeron.

"You want a chance?" she said. "Then you'll need mecha that can think without Krono."

Everyone stared.

Rest: "Those don't exist."

Naelin: "They do now."

🎭 Scene 5: The Editor's Lecture

The Editor stood atop the spire, holding the burning coin.

Zeron, still breathless, stood across from him.

"You think this world is real?" the Editor asked. "You think emotion shapes fate?"

He tossed the coin. It froze mid-air.

"This world was scripted. You were a beta character, rewritten after poor reception."

"That's a lie!"

"Oh? Then tell me this—why have your memories changed since Ivy returned?"

Zeron froze.

The Editor pressed a finger to his forehead. "The Purple Krono isn't your gift. It's your bug."

Suddenly, code burst from Zeron's back—tendrils of glowing purple text that wrapped around his limbs like a virus.

"You're not a messiah. You're a glitch."

🌌 Scene 6: Zui Breaks the Core

Zui finally reached the Core Room.

It wasn't a machine.

It was a cradle.

Inside it was… another version of herself, asleep, connected to thousands of cables.

"You're… me?"

The clone opened its eyes. "No. I'm what you'd become if you stopped asking 'why.'"

Zui backed away.

"You were born to hold the Fourth Verse. But only one of us can live."

Zui shook her head. "Then I choose neither."

She raised her hand.

Her Krono surged—pure white and violet.

She sang.

The entire cradle shattered.

The chamber trembled.

Versecradle… was broken.
