Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss'

Chapter 6: Orbital Assault

This approach by David Lyn has been implemented before.

That was by the Yamiriko Federation.

In the old days, people gathered in the alliance of Yamiriko, living in equality and wealth, and since poverty and conflicts were eliminated, the army existed only to combat natural disasters.

Bai Sijia, as part of the elite class, naturally knew that history.

The Yamiriko Federation was a civilization that made contact with extraterrestrial civilizations, so grand that it hoped to establish a nation akin to those of cosmic civilizations on this planet.

But that was impossible.

Yamiriko blindly pursued technology, freedom, and equality, yet little did they know that Lord Entropy had already been ignited with anger by them.

On this land where Old Gods are not dead, any attempt to reform society with advanced technology and tactics will ultimately bring disaster.

Thus, Yamiriko perished.

'With Yamiriko Pearls as a precedent, no matter how much technology is unsealed, David Lyn has merely created a shoddy imitation.'

Lord Entropy will mercilessly flatten these challengers.

Time and time again, no matter how many times they come, the fools attempting to defy nature will be destroyed by Lord Entropy.

'David Lyn, oh David Lyn, you truly aren't a lucky one.'

Bai Sijia turned and left the conference room, the corners of her mouth involuntarily lifting:

'Blame it on being born on this planet, in this era.'

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from outside the window. At first, she didn't pay attention, but gradually, she heard the stirrings of a crowd.

"What's happening?"

She stopped in her tracks, turned her head, and curiously looked out the window.

The red-black sky filled with Ersha was being torn open by ferocious scars, with silver dragons of thunder roaming fiercely as if resisting something.

"The sky is—"

Before Bai Sijia could finish her sentence, a rapid burst of purple light crashed down on the earth, like the light spear of the gods descending from the sky!

"...Tactic Two, orbital bombardment."

Standing on the battleship's deck, Caramel Snail looked at the red-black planet below the orbit.

The Baizhu fleet of 40 'Dominion' class battleships had fully deployed, and the high-power magical light spears were precisely bombing the core industrial area of the White Frost Plated control zone.

He was all too familiar with this scene... When on Ziluo Star, Li Aozi did the same to those natives.

But this time, it's different.

"Are you ready?"

Cumin Powder walked up to him, a hint of resentment on his face.

Caramel Snail glanced at him and raised his hand to gently pat Azi's shoulder:

"Sorry, I don't know how to comfort you... Just try to enjoy the game."

"So-called video games are about accomplishing what you can't in reality in a virtual world." Azi coiled his fingers around his hair, "I'm fine, just pissed off by someone—not like winning a championship makes you better than everyone else."

"Next time," Caramel Snail said, "I'll win a championship too."

Azi turned his head, his eyes reflecting Caramel Snail's resolute gaze.

The latter said nothing more, gripping his gun and sword handle with one hand, looking straight ahead.

The light spears struggled through the Ersha clouds, barely opening paths as long-blocked sunlight fell on the earth, signaling battle.

"Attention all Descenders, the Ersha Sky Curtain has been forcibly breached, you have 29 minutes to descend."

Inside the battleship, broadcasts began:

"Even for Descenders, this is a one-way war. Devoured by Lord Entropy, you will lose everything accumulated so far."

Caramel Snail reached out to Cumin Powder, the latter shook his head, picked up his weapon, and showed a 'don't underestimate me' expression. Caramel Snail understood, lifting his hand to pull down his skull face armor.

"But I think you should have been ready for this long ago."

"After all, for all of you, this is a great satellite war."

"Protect the homeland, protect Azure Star, protect the cosmos."

"You are not anyone's imitation, you are the multitude of lives in this Starry Abyss."

The deck slowly opened, revealing rows of landing pods, mechanically lowering the eager, armed-to-the-teeth players.

"Obstacles ahead cleared, Descender troops—orbital assault!"

Bam bam bam bam bam bam bam!

Countless landing pods were instantly launched, their rocket propulsion correcting their course, soon captured by Azure Star's gravity.

The Ersha cloud layer immediately shifted, reacting to the entry of countless Gamma Rank alien forces, with Lord Entropy instinctively responding, causing clouds to roll, projecting a mass of bird-like monstrosities, all rushing at the landing pods.

Buzz————

Just as the wave of attacks was about to arrive, a magic circle suddenly lit up.

Then, a silver-white figure shot out from it, even when tethered by the gravity of low earth orbit, it tore sharply through the air, with a conspicuous red trail leaving destruction behind where all Ersha birds shattered and were destroyed.

"Nephis Cleopatra, arriving at the battlefield."

Nephis calmly broadcasted as she released a tearing shock wave, using just the resonance of infrasonic waves to shatter masses of Ersha matter:

"Currently executing escort mission."

Her words were unfinished when the cosmos echoed with an old woman's roar:

"Attention all fleets, Ersha matter is building up for a counterattack, prepare to concentrate fire to respond."

The headless Echoer Mr. Liue stood on the flagship deck, grumbling irritably:

"This is ridiculous, I'm a scientist, why do I have to command the front line."

"You didn't refuse, Mr. Liue."

The Zeta Rank (6) Lord of the Absolute Blade, Old Zhuo, looked after her, guarding against any Ersha matter spilling over to injure allies, chuckling heartily.

"That was just courtesy, out of politeness!" Mr. Liue muttered, "Who knew that kid Leoz would take it so literally."

"Moreover, aren't you also looking forward to that kid's ideas?"

Zhuo spun his blade, casually casting out a sword blade shield to block the spraying Ersha:

"Rebuild the Life Commune, support your cause."

"Hmph." Liue sneered, "I won't deny that..."

She raised her non-existent head, gazing at the landing pods continuously descending into Azure Star's atmosphere. Within her vision, a similar presence to her own was clearly felt.

"After all, the tens of thousands, even a million Pathway Ascenders to Divinity, are testament enough."

Liue clenched her fists, unable to suppress her excitement:

"This pathway, he's truly created it."

"Is that so? Path of the Sovereign really does have few people."

"It's not about quantity, it's about unity. The curse of Sequential Arcane Energy makes it so the Path of the Sovereign cannot unite as one; everyone desires to be the Sovereign, but only one can be crowned king."

She said to the person next to her:

"Old Zhuo, so many Pathway Ascenders to Sovereignty, collaborating instead of becoming depraved thugs and terrorists, is rare, unheard of really!"

"Li Aozi, that kid, is becoming the leader of the Path of the Sovereign."

Liue marveled:

"Maybe, years from now, I'll truly witness the birth of a True God."
