Chapter 66: Harry Potter Part 9

The ancient stones of the Hogwarts-esque academy hummed with a nervous energy. Weeks had bled into one another, each day marked by the heavy silence that stretched between Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo. The tension was so thick, you could practically taste it in the air, a bitter tang that soured the usually vibrant atmosphere of the school.

In Gryffindor tower, Shoto Todoroki, substituting brooms practice with chess, observed the subtle shift in his friend Izuku, a growing unease etching lines onto his face. Tenya Iida, ever the diligent prefect, noticed Izuku fumbling over his spells, his normally meticulous handwriting devolving into nervous scribbles. Even Tsuyu Asui, never one for gossip, commented on the unusually strained atmosphere during their study sessions.

Meanwhile, in the dungeons of Slytherin, a similar disquiet brewed. Eijiro Kirishima, loyal as ever, noticed the fire had all but gone out in Bakugo. Denki Kaminari whispered to Hanta Sero about the dark clouds that perpetually seemed to hang over Bakugo's head, a stark contrast to his usual explosive energy. Mina Ashido, usually so quick with a quip, found herself tongue-tied around the perpetually glowering Bakugo. Even Kyoka Jiro, with her penchant for all things dark and brooding, found the oppressive mood unsettling.

The unspoken animosity between Izuku and Bakugo seeped into every corner of the school. Gryffindors found themselves snapping at Slytherins, friendships frayed under the weight of unspoken accusations, and the usual inter-house rivalries escalated into petty squabbles. It was a mess, a tangled web of resentment and confusion that seemed intent on unraveling the very fabric of the school.

Finally, desperation pushed the students to an unlikely alliance. Gryffindors and Slytherins, united in their shared misery, gathered in a clandestine meeting, a motley crew of worried friends and irritated classmates. They decided to confront Aizawa Shota, their homeroom teacher, the only one aloof enough to potentially be unaware of the festering conflict.

"Aizawa-sensei," Todoroki began, his voice surprisingly gentle, "something is going on between Midoriya and Bakugo. It's affecting everyone."

"They used to be rivals, but now they don't even look at each other," Kirishima added, his brow furrowed with concern.

Aizawa listened, his expression impassive. "And you believe I am unaware of this… tension?" He sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "I've noticed it. However, I'm not a therapist. Their personal issues are their own to resolve."

"But Aizawa-sensei, it's not just their problem anymore!" Uraraka pleaded, her eyes wide with worry. "It's affecting the whole school!"

Aizawa conceded with a sigh. "I'll observe them. See if I can discern the root of the problem. But I make no promises."
