Chapter 139: Pro Hero

~Third POV~

[November, UA Highschool, Heights Alliance (Faculty Dorm) – First Floor, Japan]

As November entered it's final days…

"UA is taking her in."

"You weren't kidding hanging out again soon!!"

Some UA students were allowed to visit the faculty dorm, as the Big Three were present in the room. Nejire was playing with Eri's hair as Ren asked Aizawa curiously, "How'd this work out exactly?"

The girls were looking at Eri as Aizawa explained to Ren in a calm tone, "Well, it's not like she can stay in the hospital forever."

Getting the students, except for Tamaki and Nejire, to play with Eri, Aizawa explained her situation calmly, "They say her mother abandoned her. She still had a grandfather, the Hassaikai Boss, but after the Heist went wrong, she got nowhere to call home."

Nodding in understanding, Mirio pointed at his head as he calmly explained the situation of Eri's Quirk, "Plus, Aizawa sensei mentioned this. Her horn is the source of her Quirk, but it's starting to grow out, little by little."

Aizawa then chimed in as he added to Mirio's words in a calm tone being the one to take care of her, "With her Quirk its all the more reason to have her here with us instead of at an orphanage. She'll be staying in the Faculty Dorm, where I'll keep an eye on her. We'll observe her and try to figure out a way to deal with her incredible power. There'll also be regular examinations everything one step at a time."

Listening to their teacher Tsuyu pointed out curiously gazing at Aizawa, "That's a big responsibility, Aizawa-sensei."

That was when Mirio intervened in an upbeat voice filled with optimism, explaining to his underclass, "That's where I come in since I'm taking time off from Work Study I and the Big Three will be able to take care of Eri!"

They only nodded at this, with Ren saying out loud, asking a question, "Can we play with Eri?"

One glare at him made him stop as Aizawa explained stoically that they had another thing to be doing, "No. Back to the dorms with the rest of Class A. You're expecting guests."

Being told that they were expecting guests, the students all returned to their dormitory, awaiting the guest's coming. Although Ren felt a shiver run down his spine as Aizawa intently glared at his back as he thought, 'Really? It's been weeks, and you're still up about the rainbow jelly?!'

[UA Highschool, Heights Alliance, Japan]

Every one of the students began to prepare for the guest to appear as they discussed amongst themselves. But it was when they heard the words of a chant that Ren flinched inwardly as he thought, 'Oh no…'

The students paused as the chant revealed to be the Wild, Wild Pussy Cats as they entered the dorm in an upbeat tone, "Rock on with these sparkling gazes! We've come to lend a paw and help!! We've come from… somewhere… stingingly cute and catlike! Wild, Wild… Pussycats! (Day off version)."

The class exclaimed cheerfully as they greeted them with Kota along, "Yayyy! Pussycats! It's great to see you after all this time!"

Pixie-Bob smirked as she responded with Kota on the side entering the building, "I hope my little kitties have all been well!"

The students began discussing with the Pro Heroes as Ren went over to Kota, talking to the little guy in a chill tone, "Sup, little man. Been awhile how are things?"

Kota gazed at Ren before scoffing him off with a light blush, "B-Been good. Still, I don't like heroes…"

Rubbing his head, Ren smirked as he muttered, causing Kota to try and punch him, "Wow… such a tsundere."

Kota began to argue back much to Ren's enjoyment of treating him lightly. It was when Pixie-Bob then Mandalay said of their return calmly, "Because they're about to announce this year's second hero billboard chart JP. We're in 411th place."

The Hero Billboard chart JP is when incident resolution rate, contributions to society, and public approval rating are filled to create a posting of who has done the most. All these factors matter when coming up with the official hero rankings, twice a year.

The ones who reach those upper echelons of heroism are heroes who preserve the peace and keep the public smiling. As everyone watched the news, Ren spoke with a bored expression to Kota, "Soooo… wanna ditch them and play some Smash Brawl in my lab to pass the time?"

Kota's eyes glinted in excitement, but being the tsundere, he turned his head to the side, "Ye – uh… I mean, sure, jerk…"

Ignoring this, they went to the first floor as Ren suddenly remembered something that occurred today, 'Ah, right, it's almost time for that to happen to Endeavor, right? Better send my clone to do the job. No, I could better.'

[Later, Random Restaurant, Kyushu, Japan]

A couple of hours later, after the Hero Ranking Announcement. Hawks and Endeavor are in a restaurant; they sit close to the window with the view of the city, discussing recent events as Hawks cheerfully say, "Haha! That's what they'll tell you, yeah… it's just not in your character. Oh, are you gonna finish that?"

Endeavor merely grunted, "You glutton."

Hawks, taking some of Endeavor's lunch cabobs, jokingly says to him as he munches down on the food, "That's where I am. When I want something, I go for it. Like after the Sports Festival, when I tried scouting your boy. The son of the number two would've been a nice feather in my cap. But now I'm glad it was Tsukuyomi who came to me."

*Flare*

Heat around Endeavor flared up lightly as he growled, annoyed, "You're no UA Alum, but you sure stay informed."

*Fwip*

Flapping his wingers, Hawks openly said in a joking manner in a cheerful tone, "Hahaha! Endeavor, don't worry about it. Though your popularity polls are not as high as mine, I couldn't think of a better person than you to ask for the job. Your case-solving numbers are through the roof, and my back isn't enough to put people at ease."

Endeavor merely scoffed, pointing his finger at him and getting straight to the point as he bluntly said, "Cut the crap. Why'd you really drag me down to Kyushu? Get to the point already. Those Nomu… the League's freaky remodeled puppets. When we captured AFO, we also found a few dozen that were stashed away in Kamino. The League's made some trouble since then. But there haven't been any more Nomu sightings."

Listening to his words, Hawks loses his friendly attitude as he calmly explains, getting Endeavor's attention, "The rumors? So, either you rounded up all of them… or there's more, but only old AFO knows where they are. Those are the two lines of thought."

Endeavor with a stern expression asked sternly gazing at Hawks intently, "You're the one talking rumors. So, you must have proof if you're suggesting teaming up…"

But it was when Hawks casually says looking at the window, "Nope, no proof. Just rumors."

*Flare*

Endeavor stood up angry as he growled out loud in a commanding tone, "Check! I'm out of here!"

Just as Endeavor was about to leave, Hawks stopped him as he spoke calmly, gaining his attention immediately, "Hold on, now. Listen. The Nomu sightings aren't just happening here. Or haven't you heard? The rumors are springing up all over the country. Well, not enough to make it into the papers… but enough that housewives and school kids are gossiping about it."

Endeavor turned his head, listening intently as he said, "Meaning?"

Hawks continued explaining to Endeavor as he extended his wings, fully stretching them, saying calmly, "I first heard about it from the locals when I was away on business. So, I teamed up with the police, though we kept the investigation under wraps to avoid panic. Nothing turned up. Still, I was curious, so I've been flying around the country making some inquiries of my own."

Endeavor's eyes narrowed as he said, "Inquiries…?"

Hawks continued his explanation as he calmly stated, sharing his investigation information with him in a serious tone, "There are slight discrepancies between accounts, but similar stories are popping up in unrelated areas. Still, it is unsubstantiated at this point. Now, I'm talking purely hypothetical, but… after UA, Hosu City, and Kamino… those remodeled villains are just about the creepiest things on people's minds, right? But I say some idiot got it in their head to tell a few tales to rile people up. And now those tales are spreading across the country."

Endeavor glares at Hawk, sharing the news as he continues explaining as calmly as possible to his savior, "That guy earlier, screaming long live metahuman liberation'… this is kinda like that. They republished some old-time criminal's autobiography, and it's flying off the shelves. I think that's influencing people. That stuff tends to sell best when society's unstable, right?"

*Grrr*

Endeavor, genuinely getting frustrated, stated in an angry tone, "Well, ain't you a know-it-all. What're you getting at here? Spit it out."

With an amused grin, Hawks said in a cheerful tone as he said cheerfully to his savior, "I want our top hero to be a leader we can rely on! You should be the one to investigate these ominous rumors… and tell everyone there's nothing to fear! Puff out your chest and give them the message! While I sit back and do nothing! Like I said yesterday this is your show to direct, future No.1! I wanna make this world one where heroes have time to kill."

*ZOOOM*

Suddenly they see something dark flying towards them. One of the workers at the restaurant came to check on them saying unaware of the danger coming to them, "Your bill, gentlemen – "

"GET BACK MISS!!"

*CRASH*

The lady moved back as a Nomu bursts through the window and leaps into Endeavor. Grabbing the man by the face and attempting to slam him on the ground till the hero roared out, "[Flame Beam]!!"

*BRRR*

*FWOSH*

A beam of fire engulfs the High-End Nomu, pushing him away from the window. But already as the flames died down, the Nomu was regenerating its skin and had even finished doing so already as it says in a broken speech, "Heh… you m – must, b – be pretty strong…"

From there on, the battle in Kyushu against the High-End Nomu began. From the sidelines of the ongoing fight between the heroes and Nomu.

Immediately, Endeavor notices that something is wrong because, as he knows from the previous Nomu sightings, none of them spoke like humans as the High-End broken's voice rings through the fight with him, "I – I wAnT tO b – become stronger… I have to b – Beat you…"

Endeavor yells out loud as he floats out of the window, "You talk too much!"

Grabbing the High-End Nomu, the creature is ecstatic at this and goes to use its [Power] and [Muscle Augmentation] Quirk. But in a bizarre turn of events, its eyes widened gazing at itself confused not being able to access its Quirks.

*CRUNCH*

Clutching tightly to the High-End Nomu, hearing bones break from Endeavor's power, he smirked as he stated in a determined tone, "Surprised? You shouldn't have picked a fight with Heroes."

*SWOOOOSH*

Going high into the sky above, away from harm he roared out loud shining brightly as the heat around him shone intently, "[PROMINENCE BURN]!!!"

*BOOOOM*

A big explosion of fire erupted in the sky. The High-End Nomu is instantly burned into ashes as the battle is over as soon as it starts…

[Random Rooftop, Kyushu, Japan]

In another roof building, Aizawa, together with Ren, is also there on the scene after seeing the news of the Nomu attack. They immediately made it on time using Ren's [Wormhole] to get ready to thwart the Nomu.

Both using [Erasure] and [Negation] stopped the High-End Nomu in its tracks. Aizawa spoke up stoically, "Seems like we made it on time. But the League of Villains is surely getting bold, targeting the top pro heroes."

Ren nodded his head, agreeing with Aizawa's words as his eyes tracked down on a certain villain getting his attention, "True. It would be natural for them to go after the lesser heroes, seeing society fall into despair. And it seems like someone was seeing this happen…"

Their eyes landed on the villain, Dabi, gazing at the scene and turning to leave. It was when they saw that [Warping] Quirk take effect safely, taking Dabi out as Aizawa asked bluntly at Ren gaining any information, "Shit. Seems like the villain managed to get away seeing Endeavor win, but problem child, what did you get from him?"

Ren, acting confused, raised an eyebrow, rubbing the back of his head, responding with clear confusion evident in his voice, "Not enough to locate their league but an identity to his real name. Although… it's very strange to see a member of the Todoroki Family be a villain. Much less one who should be dead to them?"

Aizawa raised an eyebrow at this with clear confusion, muttering out loud, "Sigh… great. Just what I need to hear is that the villains have tragic backstories. Although it should be simpler to learn from the Todoroki Family what you mean."

Ren simply nodded his head, turning away to leave as he explained to Aizawa the identity of Dabi. Aizawa sighed, rubbing his head in an annoyed tone, "Sigh… great, just what I need. But with the situation like this…"

Aizawa paused, considering something as he asked, staring at Ren with a curious glint in his eyes, "Say problem, child, how would you like to help with something… drastic? To plus ultra your classmates as you can leave this issue to the adults."

Ren raised an eyebrow as Aizawa began discussing the next course of Training with Class A, gaining a sly grin from Ren's face at the idea and role he'd be playing this time around…
