MHA: The Honoured One

Chapter 8: Chapter 9: The 2 Versions of heros. (The Exam Part 2)

----------------------------------------------------

Power is a cruel paradox, a beacon that draws others close, yet a chasm that sets one apart.

I stand above them, untouchable, invincible, yet never more distant.

To them, I am a god, a force to be feared, revered, or envied, but never understood.

Strength was meant to protect, yet all it has done is isolate.

----------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------

Gojo took a deep breath, standing amidst the chaos of the exam arena.

The dust settled around him as he glanced at the wreckage left behind by the other students' battles.

His mind briefly flashed back to everything that had led him here, dodging attacks and racking up points without breaking much of a sweat.

But now, the real challenge had arrived.

The ground trembled as a massive, hulking shadow loomed over the battlefield.

The Zero Pointer.

A colossal, metal monstrosity that sent most students scrambling in fear.

Gojo, however, stood firm, his brain already racing through options.

'Do I fight it? No, that wasn't necessary and wont help anything. Its a zero pointer on the end..'

The goal wasn't to defeat.

'So escape?' He thought to himself

He looked around, seeing students trying to run away before he made up his mind.

Best way together more points is to save the rest, or assist them as much as possible.

He made up his mind before starting to run to the groups of students

One by one he told them to back away, it wasn't worth it.

His eyes caught the boy who asked him to remove his glasses earlier.

"Yoo, hey there man, listen I need a favour" Gojo said calmly as he jogged up to him.

He turned around surprised by Gojos call and arrival before fixing his glasses "I'll have you know. My name is Lida Tenya an-"

"Lida, got it. Listen, you seem to be a speedster, you need to run around and make sure everyone evacuates this area, and is heading towards the exit"

Gojo interrupted him

Lida was about to retort, clearly by the annoyance in his expression before Gojo spoke once more

"I'm saying to do this for everyone's safety, plus this will contribute to out hero points"

Lida paused, considering the logic in Gojos words before nodding in agreement

"You're right, that's true, I didn't even think of that. Doing this to see how we react, if we wil-"

And Gojo started running away from the boy.

'Need to make sure everyone's evacuating'

----------

After just helping a small group of girls stuck under rubble, he looked around the area.

Yes been going around helping those stuck or lost, directing them where to go.

"Alright.. those should be the last, better go to the exit as well.'

Just as Gojo was about to start his jog towards the large gates on the other opposite end of the simulated highway, a distant, frantic scream caught his attention.

His eyes flicked to the source, a girl floating helplessly in the air, her body weightless, flailing for control.

Her brown hair and wailing face clinging onto a piece of debris as she rose closer and close to the hero Pointer.

"Shit shit shit, howd I miss her!" Gojo said as he begun running to her area.

That's when he heard Lidas voice from behind

"Young Midoriya, stop, you'll only make thing wor-"

Before Gojo could react, a flash of green streaked past him.

Midoriya

Leaping into the air with reckless determination.

Gojo stood there, sighing deeply as he watched his

"Why, just why.. well what's he going to do, punch it, that barely solves any-'

----------

Midoriya was flying through their air, his veins glowing, his arm bulging as he cocked it back to punch it

"DETROIT..."

He looked at Uraraka, a new person, someone who wasn't rude to him.

He looked at her face, her hair, the terrified expression driving him to do this

His entire arm crackling with raw energy.

If he can just Save here then it will be alright.

"SMAASH"

He shouted as his fist collided with the Zero Pointer, his punch causing the head to collapse in on itself.

BOOM!

Midoriyas Detroit Smash tore through the Zero Pointer's head like a meteor, sending shockwaves through the entire area.

The behemoth's metal frame groaned, chunks of debris breaking off in every direction..

Learner stared in awe at this, the zero pointer falling backwards, defeated.

Before anyone could cheer, they all screamed once again in fear.

While yes, yound Midoriya managed to destroy the robot with one hit, the main body falling back, large and multiple pieces broke off.

Chucks flew in all directions, and most of it, heading to their direction.

All of it descending down towards them all.

----------

"Idiot!"

Gojo cursed, already formulating a plan in his head.

That level of force, it was beyond reckless.

Midoriya just destroyed the Zero Pointer, sure, but what about the aftermath?

What about the debris, the falling girl, and himself?!

Gojo's eyes widened, his head looking up.

The falling wreckage was about to crush the students below, there wasn't enough time to think.

No time to hesitate.

He gritted his teeth and pushed himself.

He ran into the middle of the street, breathing slowly as he closed his eyes.

He stretched out his arm, before bring them together I'm a clap, and slowly parted them.

"Blue."

The air between his hands warped violently as a chaotic orb of pure blue energy formed in front of him, as if drawing blue energy from the surrounding air, pulsating with unstable power.

Gojo strained to control it, his hands trembling as he spread his arms slowly, the orb growing in size and becoming more and more unstable

'GRAVITY WELL'

He shouted in his head as the blue orb was fired into the air, moving around towards the robotic body and in the center of all the falling pieces

CRASH!

KLANK!

The robot's massive fragments were falling slower, before being yanked mid-air, pulled violently toward Blue's gravity-like core.

The chunks of metal, as if attracted to it started following the ball Gojo created, he was there standing in the middle of the street, visibly straining as his control over blues direction became weaker and weaker.

He then maneuvered the orb to move in the opposite direction, having it all fall back with the main robot body.

Once he was certain the metal chunks were no longer a threat, he realised control, stumbling backwards slightly.

The blue energy orb drawing in and absorbed from of the debris before unravelling and fading into nothingness.

The other students gasped in awe as their impending doom was erased in an instant.

But Gojo wasn't done.

Even as his vision blurred slightly from the strain, he saw Midoriya plummeting like a ragdoll, unconscious.

The girl wasn't far behind, still floating but unable to control her descent.

'Damn it, I need one more.'

He clapped his hands together, summoning another Blue before he directed it upwards towards Midoriya and the girl, slowing their fall.

They fell safely toward him before the blue energy orb was dispelled the at the last second.

Just as the girl closed her eyes, ready to be planted face first onto the ground, she plopped gently into Gojos arms bridal style.

Midoriya, however, was beyond his reach, and frankly couldn't care about him.

With a dull thud, the green-haired boy landed face-first onto the pavement beside him.

Gojo glanced down, before looking at the red face of the girl in his arms, deep sigh escaped his lips before he put on a slightly strained smile

"...You're good, right? Name's Saturo Gojo, your current hero"

He said with a chuckle.

The girl nodded slowly before beginning to speak.

"Ochaco Uraraka.. N..nice to meet you." She stuttered as a slight blush came across her face before Gojo put her down.

Gojo let out a breath, satisfied, only to feel a warm trickle down his upper lip.

His nose was bleeding.

"Hey.. are you alri-"

The now named Uraraka wanted to ask before Gojo waves his hand at her

"I'm alright, don't worry about me."

He wiped it casually, ignoring the pounding headache forming behind his eyes.

Using Blue at that scale took a serious toll on him, but at least everyone was safe.

"Come on, we have to go."

The arena was silent for a moment before they all saw Gojo limping slight Midoriya on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and Uraraka walking next to him.

The students erupted into cheers.

"That was insane!"

"Dude, he saved all of us!"

"He's way too powerful!"

Gojo barely acknowledged the praise, limping toward the exit, exhausted.

He dropped Midoriya onto the ground there before bending over to catch his breathe.

"Saturo Gojo, that was extremely impressive work you di-.. Are you okay??"

Lida came to him, patting his back in congratulations before noticing how bloodshot his right eyes was and the blood tickling down his nose.

"Nah.. I'm fine.."

Gojo said, clearing his voice before standing up right, wiping the blood from his nose away before continuing walking forwards.

"I leave the green haired idiot in your hands. "

He said to Lida as he walked away.

The other students cheering, thanking him

But among the crowd, some were jealous, envious and down right pissed about what happened

"Tch. I already hate this guy."

Gojo simply kept his smirk plastered on his face as he walked.

'Fuck... I must of gotten brain damage from that..'

Gojo thought to himself.

----------

U.A. Staff Room – Watching the Live Feed

Inside the U.A. staff room, the pro heroes observed the exam unfold through multiple screens, each displaying different angles of the battlefield.

All Might sat at the front, arms crossed, his usually bright smile replaced with a look of silent contemplation.

His eyes lingered on the struggling green-haired boy, his fingers unconsciously tightening into a fist. '

He has the heart of a hero… but he still lacks control.' He thought to himself as he watched Midoriya

He wanted to believe in the boy, but the reckless nature of his actions made it hard to remain impartial.

Meanwhile, Aizawa leaned forward slightly, his sharp eyes narrowing behind his goggles as he focused on another student entirely, Gojo Satoru.

Unlike Midoriya, Gojo wasn't just reacting to the situation; he was dictating the flow of it.

'Hmm.. Tactical thinking, battlefield awareness, and that Quirk… Interesting.'

Aizawa knew raw power when he saw it, but Gojo was demonstrating something beyond brute force, strategy and efficiency.

Beside him, Nezu sipped his tea, his beady eyes practically sparkling with intrigue.

"Fascinating,"

The small principal murmured, tail twitching.

"Not only does he avoid unnecessary conflict, but he maximizes his score by focusing on rescue and efficiency. A very calculated approach. Most students struggle to think beyond self-preservation, yet he treats the battlefield as if he's already a seasoned pro."

Then, the moment came.

Midoriya, against all odds, launched himself into the air, his arm glowing with an overwhelming surge of power.

"Detroit… SMAAAASH!!"

The room vibrated slightly as the speakers blasted the sound of metal being torn apart. All Might's heart swelled with pride, barely containing his approval.

'That was reckless, but… incredible.'

He knew more than anyone what the boy was fighting for.

But before any of them could celebrate, the screens showed the aftermath, the Zero Pointer collapsing, debris raining down like an impending disaster.

The pro heroes instinctively leaned in.

Then, Gojo moved.

In a single moment, his hands clapped together.

Blue.

The staff room fell silent as the gravitational force of his technique pulled the wreckage mid-air, redirecting it before it could crush the helpless students below.

The display of precise Quirk control had every teacher's attention locked onto the screen.

Aizawa's brows furrowed deeper.

'That kind of power should have completely exhausted him, yet he's still moving…'

Nezu chuckled, setting his tea down.

"Now that," he said with a gleam in his eye, "is someone to keep a very, very close eye on."

As the live feed continued, the pro heroes remained fixated on the screens, watching Gojo limp forward with Midoriya slung over his shoulder.

The contrast between the two students couldn't have been clearer, one completely unconscious from a single attack, the other pushing past his limits after a calculated display of power.

All Might exhaled, relaxing slightly in his seat, though his mind raced.

Midoriya had succeeded in his goal, but at a cost.

He was completely incapacitated, unable to even stand after his attack.

That was a problem.

'Raw power alone won't be enough… young Midoriya..'

But still, seeing the boy's determination brought a hint of a smile to his face.

Aizawa, however, was still focused on Gojo. His fingers tapped against the table as he rewound the footage on his personal screen, replaying the sequence where Gojo used Blue.

It was clear from his body language that it strained him, yet the control he displayed over such a destructive force was remarkable.

He didn't just use it to attack, he manipulated the battlefield, saved others, and ensured there were no casualties.

That kind of judgment in a high-stress scenario…

'That's not normal for a kid his age.'

Nezu let out a small, amused chuckle.

"It seems our students this year will be… exceptionally interesting."

His small paws folded neatly on the table, his ever-present smile widening.

"Gojo Satoru. I wonder just how deep his potential goes."

"I don't like it."

Aizawa finally spoke, his tone as neutral as ever, but his words carried weight.

"He's too calm, too composed. Students at this level usually hesitate, make mistakes, or panic. He didn't."

His gaze narrowed.

"That kind of confidence comes from experience."

"You say that like it's a bad thing," Nezu replied playfully.

"It is if it means he underestimates danger."

Aizawa leaned back, sighing.

"I need to see more of him before I decide if I like him or not."

All Might, still watching the screen, finally spoke up. "Regardless… I think we just saw two students who will change the future."

"Heh, seems like you have someone besides Saturo you're rooting for~" Midnight made a sly smile.

Cementoss just sat there. Depressed

"My cityscape.. gone.."

He said with a hint of sadness with Snipe patting his back comforting him.

As the footage ended and the screens faded to black, the pro heroes sat in silence, each lost in thought.

U.A. had just found two wild cards, one reckless but brimming with potential, the other powerful yet unsettlingly composed.

Perhaps more will come through, as tine goes on.

The entrance exam had ended.

But the real test between these two heros, Gojo Satoru and Midoriya Izuku was only just beginning.

----------

The Evening After the Exam

Gojo was laying on his bed on his bed, some pills on the nightstand besides him. The events of the entrance exam were playing in his mind, his Blue technique nearly overwhelming him, the way Midoriya had recklessly destroyed the Zero Pointer, and the envious stares from some of the other examinees.

Just as he was about to turn over to sleep, his door flew wide open with Koun walking calmly inside his room.

".. You do know there's something called knocking right.."

Gojo groaned

"Boy please, I paid for that door, so I'll bash it as much as I want, not get up, the results are here."

He raised an eyebrow before sitting up and following his uncle to his table.

Koun proceeded to pull out the envelope from his pocket.

The U.A. logo was stamped on the front in bold lettering.

'Well, this is it.'

Gojo said to himself .

"If you failed I swear to God I'm beating your ass for wasting my money like that."

Koun chuckled like Gojo laughed with him, wondering why hebwas now paranoid if he did pass or not.

Koun tore it open and a small metallic disk clattered onto his desk. It flickered before projecting a holographic screen into the air.

Then, a familiar voice boomed through his room.

"I AM HERE… WITH YOUR RESULTS!"

Gojo sighed, stuffing his hands into his pockets.

"Jeez, no need to shout."

All Might stood on the screen, arms crossed, his usual wide grin in place.

"Young Gojo! First off, congratulations on your performance in the Entrance Exam!"

Gojo remained silent, waiting for the results.

"I'll get right to the point! You've officially been accepted into U.A. High School's Hero Course!"

Gojo smirked.

"Yeah, figured."

"Now, let's talk numbers,"

All Might continued.

"You dominated in the Villain Point category, taking out numerous robots with minimal effort! But of course, we weren't just looking at raw power."

A second number appeared beside his Villain Points: Hero Points.

Gojo's expression shifted slightly as the recorded clips began playing on the hologram, him pulling students from rubble, directing evacuations, ensuring nobody was left behind.

"Your quick thinking, leadership, and use of your abilities to save others earned you a massive amount of Hero Points!"

Then, the final total appeared:

Villain Points: 74

Hero Points: 36

Final Score: 110

There was a brief pause before All Might's smile widened.

"You've broken my record by six points!"

Gojo blinked.

His smirk twitched into something a little more amused.

'Oh? That's interesting...'

He thought to himself as his smirk grew larger

"I must say, your abilities and composure during the exam were truly impressive! You have the potential to become a great hero, young Gojo."

The hologram flickered.

"Welcome to U.A. High!"

And with that, the projection cut off, leaving Gojo and Koun in his dimly lit room.

"Congratulations my boy" Koun patted the back of Gojo

"You're on your way to being a hero, or if that just an excuse to get stronger." He laughed, knowing the answer

Gojo laughed with him.

"Heh, I'll become someone so strong, no one can compete, and then ill be the-"

"Noble One" Koun interrupted, laughing once more as Gojos smirking gave turned into one of annoyance.

"I'm going to come up with something better, can't be known as something so stupid"

He exhaled through his nose, shaking his head with a small chuckle.

Koun ruffled up Gojos hair before leaving with a satisfied smile, exiting the room, leaving Gojo alone.

"Breaking All Might's record, huh?"

He went back to his bed, dropping himself on it, arms behind his head, gazing up at the ceiling.

"Well… guess I'll have to set the bar even higher."

----------

Meanwhile, back at U.A., Principal Nezu, Aizawa, and a few other teachers were huddled around a screen, replaying the footage of Gojo's Blue.

"This kid…" Aizawa muttered, eyes narrowing.

Aizawa leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples.

Having a student this powerful and tactically sound was a rare thing.

But something about Gojo's attitude, the cocky smirk, the way he shrugged off his own injuries, rubbed him the wrong way.

'Overconfidence leads to mistakes. He needs to understand his limits before they get him killed.' Aizawa thought to himself

Nezu, however, seemed absolutely delighted.

"Oh, this year's class is going to be quite interesting," the principal mused, clasping his paws together. "Satoru Gojo… What an intriguing young man."

All Might hummed in agreement but kept his focus on Midoriya, who lay unconscious on the ground.

Two drastically different approaches to heroism had played out before their eyes.

One student, reckless but driven by pure heart.

The other, strategic, powerful, and composed.

Both had potential.

Both had flaws.

And both would make waves at U.A.

Aizawa sighed again, already dreading what the future held.

But even he couldn't deny it.

This was going to be one hell of a year.
