Chapter 175: The Lonely Valley Lake (Part 3)
This insect looks a lot like a 'pillbug', with a round body, about as tall as Yulanduoja. After being picked up, the dense row of segmented legs at the front swung through the air, with the bristles on them clearly visible.
"Uh, overall, you could say it's kind of cute, but it's still really scary." Tilan lightly blocked in front of her with an arm, looking at the giant bug with curiosity and a hint of fear.
"It's fine, it's actually quite docile and cute, much better behaved than that big spider." Yulanduoja teased, referring to the previous big spider.
"Hiss hiss—" A familiar sound came from above Yulanduoja's head. The big spider suddenly leapt onto her head. With the spider's current size, it almost completely covered Yulanduoja under its eight furry paws.
"Clumsy, stupid thing, stop messing with my hair, you'll mess it up." Yulanduoja struggled while reaching out to forcibly push the big spider off to the side.
"Go, Little Ball, pin it down!" So this new companion is called Little Ball, Tilan thought to herself.
Although Yulanduoja gave the order, the Sequence 4 Little Ball was clearly a bit scared of the Withering Sequence 5 big spider. It hesitated, curling up in Yulanduoja's arms and waving its paws in the air.
Seeing this, Yulanduoja didn't hesitate, she directly picked up the brown-black 'round ball' and hurled it at the big spider's head.
This kind of attack didn't bother the big spider, it was more curious about what this creature was. It pressed it beneath itself and kept prodding, but Little Ball was coiled up tight, giving no openings.
In response, the big spider turned it around, even biting it a little, but the smooth body and the shell that was harder than steel after hardening left the big spider with no good methods. In the end, it could only spin silk to trap and bind it.
"Hiss hiss—" Beside the two, the big spider rolled the ball around in circles, as if playing some game, while the two sitting in the circle had mixed feelings, not knowing what to say.
After a long while, Tilan and Yulanduoja finished their conversation. The former stood up, stopped the big spider, and rescued Little Ball, holding it again in her arms.
"As for what's next, I'm afraid I won't be able to help you much. After all, as a songstress back then, I was only a dilettante, not as steady as 'Red Stone Bamboo' Chi Wanxin of the same term, and not as talented as 'Falling Cloud Gauze' Masha, who was a few years younger than me." Yulanduoja spoke of her own experiences.
"However, if you're talking about the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain, I do have some clout there. After all, I was the darling of Four-leaf Crystal for nearly forty years until you and Prin came along and shared in that affection." Although external evaluations of 'Cui She' Yulanduoja aren't high, and she often courts trouble and plays around, she is always the closest songstress to her own Star Domain people.
This songstress allows the people in the Star Domain to attend her concerts without having to take distant superluminal flights, allowing close interaction. She shares a similar growth environment and experiences with them, and she'll voice the interests of the Star Domain in the Federation.
Thus, any songstress can easily garner the support of the people in her Star Domain, which is the foundation of her future activities and influence.
"Well, getting older has its perks too. Many of those who liked me back in the day are now figures of real power in the Star Domain. They may not entirely listen to me, but as an intermediary, connecting you with them won't be too difficult." Yulanduoja raised her finger confidently.
"Get a good night's sleep tonight. Tomorrow I'll accompany you to meet Lady Isabella. She's probably discussing future issues with those high-ups from the Star Domain now."
"When we appear together, we'll totally crush it~" She lightly teased Tilan with encouragement.
At this moment, Tilan had many thoughts she wanted to voice, but finally held back, considering it a gesture of gratitude for the senior's tremendous help.
