Chapter 32: The Girl's Cold Sword Light under the Moon_2
The flesh monster embedded in the wall slid down, but quickly, it reconstituted itself. Its mouth split open in a grotesque grin, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth, like a beast, lunging towards the man who had collapsed on the ground.
At this time, his weakened state no longer cared about tormenting his opponent; he only wanted to devour the other to replenish himself.
An ice sword, clear as glass, shot out from not far away, embedding into his body, followed by a second, and a third. As he struggled to dodge, numerous ice swords wafting cold mist and frost had already floated beside the black-haired girl.
Compared to the scorching of flames and slicing of sword edges, these chilling and petrifying ice swords were far more dangerous to him, slowing his movements and weakening his self-healing ability.
"Ah—," the monster roared, its muscles and bones contorting strangely, grinding the ice swords embedded within its body to pieces, then it turned its blood-red gaze towards the girl at the alley mouth.
"You've angered me, hehehehe..."
The sinister laughter was like a cold wind, and then he charged at the girl again. Midway, his shape shifted, deftly dodging the incoming ice swords, and reached the girl in front, mouth wide open, sharp teeth biting down, but when the teeth collided, the bitten girl disappeared like an illusion.
By the time he turned back, he found that the girl had already returned to stand beside the man in grey, with a faint white light glowing in her palm, excising and healing the infected parts within his body.
To the doctor, saving lives was the priority. As for fighting monsters, she wasn't very concerned; the police would be here soon anyway.
"Cough cough..." Once again coughing up dark red blood, the man's consciousness slightly cleared, and he saw the situation before him and the girl by his side.
At this point, he was extremely weak and did not ask the girl to run anymore, instead, he just leaned his groggy head against the wall.
"Be cautious of the opponent, he can resurrect and infect."
"Got it." After carefully excising the infected parts from the man, Tilan slowly raised her head.
The two failures made the flesh monster feel like a complete clown, with sinister anger rising in its heart. Now, logically, the best course of action would be to flee, but it refused to do so, insisting on reducing the girl to a pathetic, miserably wailing mess first.
As the man in grey said earlier, this kind of transcendent potion had a profound side effect on one's psyche, making people increasingly paranoid and bizarre.
"You're brave, daring to mock me," he gnashed his teeth, emitting a chilling voice.
If this were Tilan from four years ago, she might have been very frightened, but now she just watched him calmly.
She didn't reply but slightly closed her eyes, then pressed the air beside her with one hand; an ancient sword formed of magical Light Sand slowly materialized, its sword body like the ripples of autumn water, undulating gently, emitting a silver frosty gleam.
Once again, the monster lunged forward with blood-red pupils, this time firmly locking on the girl's emitted magic aura to prevent her from escaping under his watch. This time Tilan indeed did not dodge.
Several arcs like cold crescent moons blossomed in the night, and after an instant, the alley fell silent, followed by scattered chunks of flesh falling down, rolling on the ground. These chunks had incisions covered in a thin layer of frost, freezing them solid, preventing them from growing or reassembling again, scattered on the alley floor like discarded kitchen waste.
The sword edge in her hand slowly dissipated, and the girl stepped back to keep her distance from the blood and flesh debris on the ground.
Soon after, the sound of helicopter rotors came from the night sky, followed by a prolonged alarm. More than a dozen Riot Control Units broadcasted, dispersing the crowd and cordoning off the vicinity. Then, the fully armed hover cars descended, ejecting police officers clad in exoskeleton armor.
After enclosing the alley, they surrounded the two people, and one of them came to the side of the man in grey to check on him.

The man in grey was now slightly more conscious, looking at the surrounding officers and relaxing a bit, knowing though he'd be taken for thorough interrogation, his actions wouldn't count as a heinous crime; at most he'd be charged under the name of participating in an illegal civilian organization.
It was the girl beside him who got involved; as a college student, she would probably be under surveillance for a long time.

Suddenly, the Autonomous Unit conducting the check let out an alarm, causing the officers maintaining the scene to involuntarily raise their guns, aiming at the man on the ground.
This really is trouble, the man thought to himself, aware that a misstep could lead to being shot on the spot, after all, that's how Federation law operates.
He wanted to offer an explanation, trying to reach for the headset on him so his companions could explain the situation to the special police, but this action nearly triggered the already tense special police to fire.
"Hold on a second." The delicate voice of a young girl echoed in the minds of all the special police present.
Everyone looked surprised, then turned to the black-haired girl who hadn't said much.
"Can we not kill him for now? I think there may be some misunderstandings," Tilan spoke up.
To such a request, the ashen-faced man felt it was a bit naive. He knew all too well about the situation within the Federation, with the conservative style of the Central Star Domain's special police, letting him go would be risky, he really was in the wrong before, he should have explained verbally right away, and now he completely stopped moving.
However, to everyone's surprise, after the black-haired girl spoke up, the conduct of the special police present changed dramatically. They really lowered their guns, no longer aiming at him, and then began to check the surroundings and carefully collect the remnants on the ground.
Since when had the Central Star Domain's special police become so easy to talk to, the man wondered, as he saw the black-haired girl still standing quietly aside, with no special police keeping an eye on her, as if she didn't need to be suspected at all.
As time quietly passed, ambulances, Court of Judgment, and members of the Ethical Committee arrived one after another, recording and assessing the scene. Meanwhile, the ashen-faced man's companions presented the video captured through Autonomous Units and explained what had happened.
Throughout the process, the ashen-faced man was repeatedly questioned and recorded, yet what baffled him was that even for such a major incident, the black-haired girl was still not disturbed by anyone; he even witnessed a Tribunal Investigator in a deep blue uniform greeting her with respect.
It was only after the black-haired girl took the initiative to speak that the Tribunal Investigator carefully recorded her statement. As for the other organizations, they weren't even allowed to record.
The Songstress has special immunity privileges within the Federation, no organization may question, detain, or hinder her, unless there is a joint warrant signed by the Federal Central Council, the Supreme Tribunal, and the Golden Flame Grand Cathedral.
After completing the procedure, the ashen-faced man was taken to a special prison for treatment and detention, and the scattered flesh and remains were taken away by the Court of Judgment and the Ethical Committee for examination.
It was only then that Tilan returned to the place she came from.
Yilin was standing under the streetlight where Tilan was just moments ago, holding two cold drinks and some snacks, half-crouching, and watching the large spider in front of her that had a frozen pear on its head and was moving back and forth.
As Tilan's friend, Yilin had long been acquainted with this large spider, and when she came downstairs and didn't find Tilan but saw this creature instead, she knew Tilan must have left for some reason.
"Don't eat it yet, wait till Tilan comes back and then we can eat together," Yilin advised the spider playing with the frozen pear continuously with its paws, preventing it from gulping it down.
At this point, Tilan finally appeared at the corner of the alley.
"I'm back," she said, her steps light as she jumped next to Yilin, with a speed that seemed like just the blink of an eye, far more startling than when she faced that fleshy monster earlier.
"You're back, then this is for you." Yilin handed over the cold drink she bought, which seemed to be some kind of mixed fruit juice milk tea, very cold with a faint milk fragrance.
After taking a sip, Tilan then spoke up.
"Aren't you going to ask me where I went?" she asked Yilin.
"No need to ask, I trust Tilan. It must have been something important," Yilin said, sipping her cold drink and winking at Tilan.
The two had known each other since childhood, and Yilin understood Tilan's nature well; she knew Tilan would not break a promise unless it was something important and necessary that interrupted her.
"Yilin is really..." Tilan shook her head slightly.
"But about tonight's events, I'll tell Yilin another time." After all, it wasn't a pleasant topic, and it would ruin the mood for tonight's shopping.
Afterward, the two hand in hand again walked into the bustling commercial street, while the large spider beside them bit off the frozen pear in one bite, quickly finishing it, then followed behind them, gradually disappearing from the sight of the outside world.
