Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 4: Dusk Skirmish (Part 2)

Seeing this, Tilan also wanted to go up and help, but Ores couldn't run fast and she couldn't leave her behind.

She could only endure the pain and use some magic power. She held Ores's hand and then used the low rank secret technique recorded by the Qing Luan Faction. This kind of fast traveling spell was originally a technique used by outer sect disciples during the Third Era when they went on long journeys, but now, with various planes and hover cars, almost no one used it anymore.

With the blessing of the spell, the two felt much lighter, and their steps became swift. Running also became much easier. Holding Ores's hand, Tilan quickly caught up, pursuing the distant figure of Sura.

As the three of them approached, the shouts and sounds of battle behind the rocky hill became clearer, along with a few crisp gunshots.

In the mountain hollow, a group of dark red-skinned humanoid creatures were shouting in frenzy. They threw burning, black goo all around, igniting everything they saw. Meanwhile, some of the people stationed there charged forward with weapons to fight them, while a few hid behind wooden walls, using muskets to shoot. Unfortunately, these muskets were of poor quality and low accuracy, hitting the target only once after several shots.

In the central clearing, a collapsed watchtower and miscellaneous items were fiercely burning, dividing the open space. Many corpses lay on the ground, most of them from the stationed settlement people, and only a few of the dark red-skinned creatures.

"Awwooo——"

A long howl echoed in the mountain hollow, and about a dozen 'Black Spot Beasts' burst out from the fire, pouncing on the central combatants. Among them, three tore at a rather brave warrior, trying to topple him. The warrior grabbed a large machete and slashed at one of the 'Black Spot Beasts' backs, causing it to howl in pain.

"Hiss hiss hiss hahaha, Noniglu (you lowly mongrels)." The leader of the dark red-skinned creatures jeered, his chest bare, covered only by a dark brown fur apron. His whole body was packed with worm-like muscles, looking extremely ferocious and terrifying.

After speaking, he wielded the crude stone blade in his hand and jumped up, striking the warrior who was originally brave back a few steps, making him fall. Then he laughed wantonly, caught up, and with one slash, split the warrior's head open, lifting it up.

"No!" Seeing their general beheaded with a single slash, the remaining settlement members were in a panic. Some of the fighters, who were barely holding on, lost focus and were swiftly taken down by the enemy.

"Wahahaha~" The remaining dark red-skinned creatures also laughed wildly. They kept setting fires and stabbing to death those still resisting.

One man had barely held off a heavy stone blade with his gun when a dark red-skinned creature kneed him in the abdomen, making him slump weakly to his knees, then knocked him out with a skilled chop to the back of the neck.

"Tino-niga (caught one)." Saying so, he tossed the unconscious man backward, where some of the more slender dark red-skinned creatures bound him with ropes.

Crying and wailing spread throughout the mountain hollow settlement. The few remaining members lost their will to fight and began to flee for their lives, but unfortunately, this was an enclosed mountain hollow with only towering cliffs behind them.

"Ahhhh——" An elderly woman charged forward with a crude iron bucket, but it was cut to pieces by one of the dark red-skinned creatures. Strange black oil gushed out, soon ignited by the surrounding flames, consuming both the woman and the creature in fire.

Even the fire-loving creatures couldn't bear the scorching heat. He rolled on the ground continuously, trying to extinguish the flames with dirt, but to little effect, forcing his companions to jump away.

"Kluxi (idiot)." Growling, the leader of the dark red-skinned creatures walked over and lifted him up. Then he directly stomped on the struggling woman's body, smearing her blood and flesh on his companion's, barely extinguishing the flames.

After that, he couldn't be bothered with other things and simply let the others handle it. At this moment, he noticed a few people still fiercely defending a cave entrance at the foot of the mountain wall, so he kicked aside several obstructing compatriots, striding towards the cave.

"Hehehehhe——" He chuckled wildly and harshly, looking very excited and in a good mood.

The massive stone blade swept across, smashing apart and breaking the obstructing debris, sending two people flying and crashing into the mountain wall. Then he slashed down, cutting one of them in half, blood spattering everywhere.

"Ahhhh——" The yet-to-die person mustered his last bit of strength to crawl on the ground. Unfortunately, he barely moved before losing the ability, eyes wide open as he fell to the ground.

A massive foot trampled over the gravel-covered ground, crushing the head that couldn't close its eyes, and then headed deeper into the cave, where the air was cool and dry, with numerous ceramic jars laid out further inside.

"Keh!" A jar shattered with a chop, revealing finely milled wheat bran flour inside.

The tall dark red-skinned creature rarely stopped, pinching some between his fingers and tasting it.

"Chewruga (delicious)."

He then turned, beckoning two subordinates to take care of these ceramic jars, preparing to explore further inside.

At this moment, a long, angry roar emanated from deep within the cave, its sound dull, much like the deep moo of a large bull.

Then came the sound of urgent footsteps and running, shaking the entire cave like an earthquake.

A figure about three meters tall, with eyes blood-red, burst forth from the cave's interior, raising high arms, with gigantic palms like rough iron, directly grasping for the stone blade-wielding dark red-skinned leader.

The stone blade sliced sharply through the air, cutting through the rough palm and sparking slightly, then the giant hands firmly grabbed his shoulders and lifted him.

His feet off the ground, the dark red-skinned leader struggled continually, his worm-like muscles bulging with crimson blood aura like steel tendons, swinging the blade relentlessly, leaving bloody gouges and cuts on the black shadow's arm.

He was then smashed into the stone wall corner, back and head creating a crack, but it wasn't over. The opponent steadfastly bashed the dark red-skinned leader's head against the stone wall, like ringing a bell again and again, until finally, the entire head was reduced to pulp, before he was thrown aside. With a roar, the giant shadow charged outside.

At this moment, witnessing their leader's grisly death, the remaining dark red-skinned creatures were shocked, retreating in panic and continuously hurling burning black goo to block this terrifying giant figure.

In the pursuit, the shadow exited the cave, finally exposed under the evening sky, revealing prominent giant horns and hooves, its form akin to an enlarged humanoid moose. Its eyes bloodshot, gazed at the entire mountain hollow, letting out a mournful wail, then charged towards the intruding dark red-skinned creatures, regardless of the flames on its body. Along the way, it trampled several dark red-skinned creatures, lowering its massive antlers, scooping up and flinging whoever couldn't evade in time, tracing a high parabola in the air, crashing against the mountain wall, rolling to the ground, and crushing them underfoot as it charged again.

Rotating its body, this wounded, blood-soaked figure, still alight with flames and smoke, charged at the retreating dark red-skinned creatures, crashing through countless debris, relentlessly pursuing every unfamiliar moving figure within its blood-red sight.

Two massive wrists grasped an arm, lifting high, tearing it apart in mid-air, spilling fetid blood and organs onto the ground, with its mournful bellow echoing through the mountains.

...

When Tilan and Sura arrived, the entire mountain hollow settlement was a scene of destruction and desolation. Charred ash from burned flames, black congealed blood, and various incomplete bodies were everywhere.

Only in the center of the clearing, the towering silhouette kneeled, its giant horns draped with blood and entrails, still alight with dark red embers, its life or death unknown.
