Chapter 7: The Merchant Carried by the Bison (Part 3)
"I'll have to go back to the mountain village and discuss it with the boss." Guy thought for a moment, deciding to stall for some time and wait for Sura to arrive.
A few minutes later, Sura came over, carrying six or seven nice weapons wrapped in leather, all of them steel-forged knives and spearheads.
"These are indeed enough to trade for linen." After a glance, the other party weighed them and nodded.
Then Guy and Sura started talking about the radio and generator placed nearby. Seeing these two items, Sura's eyes gleamed, but unfortunately, she couldn't think of anything to trade for them right away.
Although there were still plenty of iron tools and household goods in the mountain village, the other party probably wasn't interested in those. The two of them and the man in the felt hat discussed for a while, and many suggestions were rejected by the other party.
"Why don't you ask Miss Hexia? If she's from the Central Region, she should have some rare items." It became clear that this was his plan, and the two quickly understood.
But the true situation with Hexia was basically clear to them by now: her vehicle had fallen from the sky, and nothing was preserved.
"Me?" Tilan thought for a moment; if she could access her storage in space like before, she would have plenty of valuable items.
Unfortunately, she couldn't use it now; it would take several months to gradually recover her ability to use authority, and she usually didn't wear any gemstone jewelry.
Speaking of gemstone jewelry, Ores did have quite a lot. When they rescued her, her dress was adorned with many lifelike silk flowers masterfully crafted, and her hairpins were decorated with gems and pearls. Tilan had even put some of these away when Ores took a bath.
"I'll go back and see if there's anything in the things I'm carrying." Tilan said, and then went back with Sura.
On the way, Sura inquired, and she shared her thoughts.
"Pearls and gems, if they're just ordinary ones, are probably not worth much." After all, in this land, few people pay for useless luxury items.
Back at the cave, they found Ores, temporarily kept in a room by Tilan. At this moment, she was sitting by the table, watching the dough ferment in the basin, her gaze curious, occasionally touching it with her fingers.
"Ores." Tilan approached.
"Tilan." The Ice Spirit raised her head, delighted to see the girl return, even though the separation was only for a few tens of minutes.
"Can I borrow your hair accessories? I'll make new ones for you later, okay?" Tilan brought out two pearl hairpins from the bedroom, which were crafted with exquisite workmanship, combining silver leaves and pearl stamens into vivid pearl flower drops, with fine silver chains about half a finger long below. It should be a master-level craft from the Central Star Domain, as Ores' family wasn't short of money.
After listening, Ores seemed a little confused but nodded anyway.
"Tilan, give me, new ones." She remembered only the latter half.
"I will remember." Tilan patted Ores, thinking she had also collected many accessories given by Ores in the past. The Ice Spirit's family had almost endless luxury items, giving Tilan plenty every visit.
Having obtained the accessories, the two returned to the outskirts of the mountain village once again. Along the way, Sura looked at them repeatedly and felt a bit reluctant.
"The craftsmanship of this thing is truly exquisite and elegant; even though I don't understand art, I can tell this is a beautifully aesthetic treasure. Are we really going to trade it?"
"No matter how beautiful the jewelry is, it's just an embellishment." Tilan shook her head. While they were indeed precious, compared to Ores and her, it's not really a big deal; as long as they return to the Federation, there would be plenty of such items available.
"Having a radio, understanding the surrounding situation of this land, is the most important thing."
