Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 91 The Chill at Sunset

"So you chased us down without even knowing our identities?"

Resting a hand on her ear, the black-haired girl looked down with a gaze as she spoke indifferently, while in front of her, a man with a pointed mouth like a monkey replied nervously.

"Yes, yes, that's how it is." He nodded hastily, as if doing so could prove his innocence and earn him some leniency.

"What else? The things you've said were already mentioned by the previous few, nothing new here." The fingertips of the black-haired miss tapped lightly on the armrest, her voice soft, yet in this silent and tense environment, it sounded like a death knell.

"I, I..."

His mind raced frantically as he tried to think of something that might satisfy the curiosity of the miss before him, but his brain seemed rusted and jammed, unable to recall anything useful.

Just then, the burly man beside the black-haired miss slowly lifted the heavy muzzle of his gun, aiming it at the man's forehead, making him even more anxious.

"I know a secret, a secret about the boss Haus." Suddenly, he seemed to remember something and shouted quickly. The black-haired girl then gently raised her hand, signaling the man beside her to lower the gun.

"Continue."

"What I know is, our boss is extraordinary, he used to be a veteran of Sequence 5 too, but he couldn't advance until half a year ago when he suddenly made it." After finishing, he took a deep breath.

"Is that it?" Kinsenke shook the gun in his hand, clearly dissatisfied.

"There's more, my cousin used to be an old man around Haus, and he occasionally boasted to me that the boss's advancement wasn't by chance, but because of an artifact they discovered in the ruins."

"If we find those ruins, there must still be many good things inside, and I can take you there, just don't kill me."

"That's too vague." The girl's tone remained exceptionally indifferent, utterly unmoved.

"There must be good stuff inside. My cousin said that when they couldn't overcome the protection system inside, they had to escape early."

"Stop, stop, stop." Kinsenke stepped forward.

"The ruins you spoke of, where are they located?"

"I don't know, but my cousin does. I can take you to him, I know where he is, we'll definitely find it."

"Ah, you don't even know this." Now even Kinsenke implied he couldn't save him. Continue reading at empire

"Let's leave it at that." The girl waved her finger lightly.

In the panic-stricken gaze of the man before her, the burly man gradually aimed the muzzle at his forehead, and then he felt a sudden pain in the back of his head, lost consciousness, and fell to the ground.

"That will do, we've asked about everything we could." Finally able to stretch her legs, the girl stood up, moved around the chair briefly, then squatted down in front of the unconscious man to check his condition.

"He's just lost consciousness, huh, not bad, the previous times I was worried you'd kill someone outright." She then stood up.

The group came together again to discuss what to do next.

"We certainly can't just let them go like this; it would only make the others think we are afraid to act, weak, and that they can chase us again without any worries, knowing we won't kill." Yalian analyzed calmly.

"So we do need to take some measures, huh." Guluo moved his stiff waist and responded casually.

"We can't just kill them, this area may be beyond the federation's jurisdiction, but we are good students, we can't just take that kind of blame casually, it'd be too much of a loss." Ximu shook his finger.

"Besides, Teacher N is watching from a distance, she'll definitely report back to the Academy afterward, so let's not touch upon killing." Xie Lian continued, and from his tone, it seemed he thought that killing might be fine as long as nobody discovered it.

"So that makes it tricky." Their gaze shifted back and forth between their bound and unconscious enemies.

"If we don't properly resolve this, others might interfere in the future, making our mission harder. I don't want to be in gunfights every day, it's thrilling, but too annoying."

"What to do..." The group fell into contemplation.

"I think instead of waiting and reacting passively, we should just charge into their lair and take care of their boss, then no one will dare to mess with us anymore." Kinsenke suggested casually, leaning against a flipped off-road vehicle.

"Why wait for someone to come knocking before fighting back? I like the feeling of kicking in doors." This rich young master indeed had a history of such actions.

"This... is also a strategy, but considering the current situation, it's too reckless." Yalian stroked his chin.

"Just let it be for now; maybe today was just an accident, a lower-middle order from the other side. We just need to take out that middleman named Brother Long."

"Oh right, that guy called Brother Long, almost forgot about him. We definitely can't let him go; he must have ordered his lackeys to come here, and he can't be far. Let's grab him first." Once they had a target, their eyes brightened.

The Leopard Head Gang's boss was untraceable, and their lair was probably dangerous, so dealing with the instigator Brother Long was the more reliable option.

What followed was simple. They had the captured enemies contact Brother Long by phone, pretending they had captured the two girls and found many good things inside the car.
