He needed to find a new home as he flew off back towards the ancient dunes he found an suitable place it was an great 3 meter wide river with mud on the edges of it and around the gigantic boulders in the water on an large arch about the waterfall an golden shine caught his attention.

As zybel landed he realized he committed the greatest atrocity killing another monsters mother as that apex seregios was female and had an singular egg zybel couldn't kill something that wasn't even born yet so he made an decision he held the egg as gently as he could in his Jaws and flew south hoping to find human civilization and he did at the very edge of the ancient dunes.

Was an group of 15 people traveling 5 of them were riding aptonoth and 1 of them was riding an yian-kut-ku zybel landed before them putting them on guard as they prepared to flee quickly he dropped the seregios egg gently and flew off proceeded to fly off leaving the monster taming humans confused.

Monster tamer POV

Arsaru the young chief of this extremely small village of monster tamers was leading them to a place called the ancient dunes Avast Desert but inside it was an a waterfall growing trees with mud plants in all sorts of monsters and wildlife perfect and hidden for a monster tamer village.

Halfway on their journey they saw a shadow in the sky before something dive bombed slamming in front of them the only licensed monster rider Jacob and his monster an yian-kut-ku named pecker got in front of arsaru as the chief he was the top priority besides the people when the sand cleared it was revealed to be an overly sized adult astalos.

Holding an seregios egg within its mouth Jacob froze he knew as the 6th generation of Royal guard to the chieftain he was expecting to face Diablos maybe an roaming Anjanath not some six star or beyond the level threat but when it's simply place the egg in the sand and flew off in the direction they were heading everyone was confused.

Arsaru took as an gesture of good faith from the monster gods and their "righteous warrior" as arsaru picked up the egg as if on the spot the egg cracked open effortlessly revealing an unknown breed of seregios it's scales were an golden brownish color and it's tail was that of an mace shape it was bigger than the average hatchling this was an ultra variant to seregios the first of its kind it was called blazing seregios.

Author:so a little bit of lore the blazing seregios is an ultra variant like the golden rathian and the silver rathalos it's believed that due to the slight increase in Ultra variant rathalos and rathians appearing that seregios an evolutionary arms race to combat their falling numbers due to Ultra variant rathalos and rathians killing them and destroying their nests an ultra variant of seregios was born the blazing seregios said to have once been an egg that survived an gold rathian attack due to its mother sacrificing itself the flames from the battles still reached the nest but never touch the egg it was thought that the bioenergy within the hatchling incubating absorbed the flames granting it it's own flame sack enhanced size and muscle strength And even due to its body temperature always being so hi whenever would throw it scales they would explode and splinter on contact with the ground.

And as such the research commission fully understand why astalos,seregios,rathalos/rathian were considered rivals to each other he had constantly evolved to match each other in evolutionary arms but now the question came would an Ultra variant astalos ever appear to combat its ever evolving rivals.

Of course those would be answered at a later time but right now arsaru guided by the hands of fate unintentionally found his monster as the blazing seregios imprinted on him they continued towards the ancient dunes to set up their village.

Zybel pov

Zybel was deep in thought it seems the monster Hunter stories universe had crossed over with the regular Capcom universe of monster Hunter creating an even bigger world than it already was but that also left a scary possibility for the elder Dragon eats rathalos seregios and astalos to be in this world as well which worried zybel.

A/N: okay quick writer intervention so basically in monster Hunter stories 2 there was an elder dragon that would eat rathalos by creating these pheromone balls that would attract them so I decided to tweak it a little bit and make it so that seregios and astalos were also on its menu and a new origin story for how the elder Dragon was defeated basically instead of just the razewing rathalos there was the heavenly seregios and primordial Astalos as well these three legendary monsters banded together and banished the eater of their species on an Island which was supposedly a continent back in the day then those three legendary creatures split up and were never seen again but there were some interesting details about them left behind for the heavenly seregios it was said to be born from killing and eating the light organ out of an divine kushala daoura obtaining pure White scales and the ability to shoot beams and balls of light from its mouth and tail as for the primordial Astalos it was said it wielded four of the six elements found in monsters around the globe elements dragon,electricity,wind and ice the only element it was missing was water and blast and fire.

As we return to to the story zybel was I'm looking down from his arched perch to check out his competition and surprise surprise another monster that wasn't in rise that the author shamelessly added because he thought it would be cool and it should have been in real eyes monoblos the styracosaurus inspired wyvern capable of using it to drill like horn to drill through the sands and Rock.

Said to be the legendary herbivore and the ruler of the desert it was said that hunters that dare to challenge this monster was challenged it alone but that was how legendary its status was ironically enough it also fed on cacti like diablos it is believed the two were actually kin who took two different paths of evolution the one with a drill like horn while the other with demonic like horns.

As the monoblos came for a drink from the waterfall the second apex predator arrived Basarios it mainly ate the minerals that grew around the area but it would also eat the cacti as well as they were the source of decent water during droughts there was barely any water in just mud causing a turf war between two herbivorous monsters which has never been seen before except for when diablos would have a turf war with another diablos.

As the two roared at each other they proceeded to engage in a turf war as they charged into each other monoblos tried to slash at Basarios only for it to dodge and used it's bludgeon like tail while spinning around in a 360 hitting monoblos on the side of its Crest breaking apart of it off making it extremely mad.

As monoblos turned to face basarios putting its drill like horn under its underbelly before lifting it into the sky tossing it over its back only for monoblos to fling it tail forward throwing basarios into the mud giving it the muddy status suddenly the second to last apex predator appeared well a subspecies anyway an pink rathian.

It roared challenging monoblos who accepted the challenge with a Viger as the pink rathian flew down lower in order to meet monoblos the pink rathian landed on monoblos drill like horn and begin pulling it due to monoblos being next to the mud the pink rathian pulling caused it to slip.

The pink rathian decided to be smart and used its fire shooting a fireball directly at monoblos chest as the pink rathian flew down with its talons out ready to smash the monoblos head into the mud but monoblos moved its head upwards causing its neck to barely Dodge the attack before lifting its head up and swinging it and leftwards slicing a piece keratin off of the pink rathian face and slashing it's eye causing them both to be knocked down after getting up both of them were retreated.

Zybel thought long and hard there are usually three apex predators in one area sometimes they overlap and get more than three sometimes for five and on the rare occasion six he assumed the apex seregios was the third Apex predator monster in the area but since he slayed her and took over her desk that technically meant he took her position as the third Apex to appear in the ancient dunes.

Meanwhile he heard the sounds of a cart as they had either followed him here or this had been their destination zybel watched them set up their camps as the guard of the chieftain Jacob placed his yian-kut-ku as their look out constantly maintaining a circular pathway checking for any large monsters.

Zybel noticed one of the monster tumors had spotted him and pointed him out he didn't really care as since they were monster tamers and not monster hunters they wouldn't try and hunt him to secure the area or anything unless he started destroying things suddenly he heard a primal roar an anjanath had adventured into the area looking to claim a new territory seemingly to be kicked out of its old one.

It noticed the monster tamers an due to its aggression saw them has hunters and charged towards them with its mouth open ready to demolish their whole settlement in one attack until suddenly Jacob,s yian-kut-ku did the unimaginable jumping off the cliffside with its legs reeled in before stretching them out in a dropkick maneuver hitting the anjanath on the head forcing it into the wall next to the camp.

As Jacob got on his yian-kut-ku just as anjanath torn entire chunk out of the canyon wall and crushed it into pebbles with its amazingly strong jaw before turning to Jacob and the yian-kut-ku who dared to drop kick it on its head as it chased them into the muddy water Jacob noticed that an elder Jyuratodus a little bigger than the average of its kind swimming up the muddy water waterfall.

Immediately Jacob decided he would lure them into a turf war with one another Jacob threw hit a paralysis frog with a pebble in his launcher causing paralyzing mist to spread around and paralyzed the Anjanath for an extremely short amount of time the anjanath extremely mad held a flame in the middle of its throat that you could see every time it opened its Maw wide open as it caught the Jyuratodus and it's Jaws just as it was climbing up to reach the main muddy area.

As the mud on its underbelly begin to harden and dissolve into thin dirt it struggled as it was thrashed in the air before being slammed into the ground as it tumbled regaining it original footing the two entered a turf war as the anjanath went for a lunging bite Jyuratodus Dove underneath the mud leaving anjanath to look around and smell for its foe only for to be blitzed from The underground causing the anjanath took it knocked over hitting a tree that had to lose hanging Vines causing it to collapse over the anjanath getting it stuck.

Jyuratodus stocked towards the monster that rudely attacked it for no reason ready to finish it by biting its neck only for the anjanath to shoot a fireball directly in jyuratodus face knocking it over and giving it fire blight as anjanath freed itself and jyuratodus got up as they were about to start fighting again a shadow passed over them making them look up suddenly something crashed in between them sending mud flying everywhere getting mud in the anjanath fur.

As it looked back to see it's amazing pristine fur absolutely ruined in mud you're prepared to attack the unseen foe only for a pair of talons to grip onto its snout and throw it down it into the mud before watching on to its side lifting it in the air and dropping it back in the mud causing more mud to splash this mysterious monster was none other than zybel the astalos he turned to jyuratodus and grabbed hit by the face with his talons only for it to shake him off and snap at his talons in retaliation to being denied and easy takedown zybel begin to pull apart his head crust using his sticky membrane and forcing them together again gathering piezoelectricity.

As he wrapped his wings around him he suddenly jutted them out shooting a burst of piezoelectricy at jyuratodus knocking it over and causing electrifying paralysis as zybel flew back to his nest proving his point the two monsters who had been knocked over got up and left Jacob was surprised the same monster who brought them the blazing seregios egg had just saved him from being outclassed by one of the most territorial wyverns in the area maybe.

This astalos was a true guardian after all as the sun set the monster tamers were able to get a crude wall going monsters return to their nests as zybel made one final roar into the sunset
