The colors of the trees have completely changed to vibrant autumn hues. Blessed with clear autumn skies, today is perfect for solo camping.

I drive up a bumpy, unpaved road in a used light car I bought.

I arrive at a slightly open dead-end. Although surrounded by trees, the open area is somewhat leveled.

I step out of the car and stretch deeply.

The air here is truly fresher than in the city.

“Alright, first, the tent, the tent.”

Humming a tune, I set up a solo dome tent. I, Mochizuki Satsuki, am 27 years old.

After several solo camping trips, I finally decided to buy a mountain.

Too sudden, too extreme, even quitting my job!? My colleagues said, but there were various reasons leading up to it.

And, just a little, really just a little, I was interested.

——Living alone deep in the mountains.

I never thought I’d actually start doing it myself.

I set up a flysheet over the tent. This should handle a bit of rain. Though with this weather, it doesn’t look like rain.

Inside the tent, I lay out a foam mat and spread a sleeping bag over it. This should negate the uneven ground.

Next, I place a folding chair and a large cooler with food at the tent entrance.

I unload all the camping gear from the light car.

Thanks to the mountain’s depth, the lingering summer heat isn’t as intense as in the city, but sweat still beads on my forehead.

I hang my favorite LED lantern by the tent. It’s still daylight, so no need to turn it on, but the mood is important.

“Now, I need to clear and level some land today. Oh, and I need to make firewood too.”

I take out a tablet from the large backpack placed in the car’s passenger seat.

What’s surprising is this tablet.

I pinched my cheeks many times, thinking it might be a dream. But after using it and seeing what happens before my eyes, I had to accept it as reality.

However, it only works in this mountain.

…After all, this is another world.

When I turn it on, two app icons appear on the screen.

One is Hirogel-kun with a green base color.

The other is Tater-kun with a brown base color.

“First, open the map with Hirogel-kun.”

Several menus appear before my eyes.

I’m already excited for the magical time that’s about to begin.

The story of how I came to own this tablet and the mountain goes back half a year.
