Mountain Sitting Immortal

Chapter 418: Calm And Full Of Confidence.

He felt a large amount of pressure when so many predators laid their eyes on him. It didn't help that some of these elders were looking at him with unfriendly gazes.

Most of the elders were just curious about him, and some were frustrated that it was the disciple of the Blood Skull sect that managed to get the Inheritance. Bt some of them, like the elders from the Black Bones sect, looked at him with sinister gazes that held nothing but malice for him.

He considers himself a brave guy. But the way the black and dried-up undead from the Black Bones sect looked at him chilled him to the bone.

No one attacked him even though they wanted to do so because they were afraid of the power of the mountain. But if he so much as dares to leave the mountain, he would be at their mercy.

Elder Storm Hawk was talking to him, so he stopped thinking about this to listen to what she was saying.

She said, "Go on. I will deal with this."

Her voice was calm and full of confidence. Her confidence was infectious, so he calmed down after hearing what she said.

He nodded to her and stepped forward to open the door. Then he opened it and stepped into the bright tunnel that appeared.

When he entered the tunnel, the door and the doorway began to disappear. The people on the fourth stage of the mountain who had been watching rushed over to enter the tunnel after him, but they failed to reach it.

For one, they were too slow. They were rushing forward with all of their might, but they were barely taking a step every second.

Secondly, there was no way they were going to cheat the system. The door that appeared was just like the runes. They were both on the invisible wall.

Without permission, no one would be able to walk through the door, just like they can't walk through the runes. Only those who could walk through the invisible wall without getting its permission would be able to pass through the door.

So everyone else was bound to be disappointed. They could only look on with envy and jealousy.

Goldwyn was one of the people who was close to Arthur. This was because he and Arthur had climbed the mountain from the same position, which was the position that the disciples of the Blood Skull sect stood at the foot of the mountain.

So he was the first person to reach the place the door was. Unfortunately, he was too late by the time he got there.

He banged on the wall in frustration and said, "I knew he was abnormal. I knew it."

Elder Calcetti was still standing where he was in shock. He hadn't bothered to move towards the door because he was too far away from Arthur's position and didn't think he would make it in time.

He was in shock because a trial that had gone unsolved for up to a thousand years was just solved right before his eyes and by a junior no less. To top it off, Arthur didn't even spend up to five seconds at the wall before he passed it. It was simply outrageous.

When he heard what Goldwyn had said, he recovered from his stupor. Then he chuckled and said, "Right. He is abnormal, so there is no use thinking about it."

Regardless of the situation, no one was willing to give up, though. The trial was still going on, so they hoped that they could become the lucky one.

Unfortunately, nothing they did helped them gain permission. There was always a question for them no matter how many they had answered previously.

This made people start to guess that maybe answering the questions was not the way to solve the puzzle. After all, Arthur spent about 2 seconds at the wall before it opened for him.

This suspicion made many people begin thinking about what they could be doing wrong. But very few people considered that they were already doing something wrong by participating in the trial as cultivators of the third mortal coil.

Many people that paid attention to Arthur began to review his performance on the mountain. For those who didn't pay attention to him then, they went around asking others for information on how he crossed the mountain.

After reviewing his performance, they were able to notice another peculiar thing about him. It was that he didn't use his armament but was able to reach the edge of the fourth section much faster than many people at the third mortal coil.

That was what they were able to summarize about him. But they didn't know which of the things he did made him worthy of the inheritance.

In their intensive consideration, they determined that his completion time, that is, the time it took him to reach the top of the mountain, might be what made him qualify for the inheritance.

The second possible option for why he qualified was that he didn't use any external object to clear the mountain. The third option was that it was because he was at the second mortal coil.

The fourth option could be all of the above. This fourth option is also the only way to be sure if they hoped to replicate his feat.

Unfortunately, no one could replicate his feat. There might be some people at the third mortal coil who could reach the top of the mountain on their own, but it is unlikely that they will be able to do so quickly.

It was also impossible for those at the second mortal coil to reach the top of the mountain at all. This is even if they have external help like armaments.

This didn't stop people from trying, though. Many people wanted to replicate what he did at all costs.

People like Thor, Leroy, and Princess, who had watched him go up and get the inheritance, felt that they might be able to replicate what he did.
