Mountain Sitting Immortal

Chapter 436: Vermin Vs Scavengers.

Even if they get the spells, they won't be able to use them because of their lacking internal energy. It is a sort of handicap for cultivation families.

Loose cultivators and family cultivators only have life energy and their body to rely in for power. This gives them a handicap compared to the people from sects.

With these kind of deficit, there is just no way they cultivators from families match the people of the sect in terms of power and skill. But there are other things that they are lacking compared to sects, such as pills and high-quality weapons.

Then there are people of the Blood Skull sect who not only cultivate both paths but also combine the power of both paths to double their power. For the Milton family, the Blood Skull sect is a no-go area.

If loose cultivators are vermin, then cultivation families are scavengers who live on the scraps that fall from between the teeth of the five large predators. This is why the great Milton family didn't dare to attack Arthur even though they were stronger than him.

They could only create a facade on the surface while they watch Arthur and prepare to take him for themselves. Once their preparation is ready, they will then make their move and hope for the best.

Arthur was in the private room, full of anticipation for the main item. This item is an elixir that can prolong life.

Lifespan is a very important thing for both mortals and cultivators. No one would say no to having more. Especially not cultivators.

With more lifespan, cultivators will have more time to transcend their mortal coils and acquire more power. So an item that grants 1 year of life span to cultivators of the third mortal coil and 10 years of life span to cultivators of the second mortal coil will have a lot of people vying for it.

What's more, this elixir can be taken during the process of forging one's foundation in order to preserve their lives and keep them alive during the process. So even if the elixir will contaminate one's life energy, people will still want it.

After all, anything is better than death. Death is the end. But with life, even if it is contaminated, there is still hope.

Many people wanted this elixir, and so did Arthur. He was so eager for it that he bid only in increments of 5,000 energy stones.

Because of him, the price of the elixir quickly reached 20,000 low-grade energy stones or 2 million gold coins. Yet, the price of the elixir was still increasing.

People were cursing Room 21 for being shameless, and some were even threatening him, but he didn't stop bidding.

He soon raised the price to 30,000 low-energy stones. No one could compete with him, and they realized this, so they stopped competing.

Besides, they also had plans on how to retrieve the elixir from him after the auction was over, so they decided to let him have his victory for the short term.

Arthur won the elixir with a smile on his face. It was brought to his private room soon after. So he quickly paid for it and the other things he had bought.

After the auction came the exchange of information and bartering between the guests. But Arthur was unwilling to wait for it because of the hot potato that he had on his hands.

He wanted to leave for safety as soon as possible. Besides, he didn't think any of these poor people would have something good enough to attract his attention.

So he opened the private room and went on his way. This action was noticed by those watching him. They quickly informed the family, who rushed to execute a series of orders.

Orders came down from above and trickled down from layer to layer. In a few seconds, the bandits had been informed to prepare for the attack.

Arthur himself didn't know what was going on. All he knew was that as soon as he reached the exit of the auction house, there was an explosion within the building.

The explosion caused a lot of panic and noise. The guests began running about for their lives. Everything became chaotic.

People were screaming either in fear or in pain. And people were stampeding because of the chaos.

It was in this chaos that some people began attacking each other. This added an extra layer of chaos that pushed the teetering order into the abyss.

Three people saw Arthur and rushed in his direction. These three people were masked, so he couldn't tell their identities. But he sensed from their energy fluctuations that they were all at the third mortal coil.

He didn't know why they were coming in his direction, but he didn't wait for them to reach him before he attacked. He grabbed some seeds from his space pouch and threw them towards the enemy.

The seeds were already growing before they fell onto the ground. When they touched the ground, they took root, expanded in size, and turned into a forest of living spears.

He directed the forest of spears to attack three of them while he continued to escape. The forest served as both a wall that defended him and a weapon that attacked his enemies.

He didn't use his armament or lightning spells so as not to reveal his identity. The wood spell he had used is special, but without an armament to tie to him, his identity as a disciple of the Blood Skull sect won't be revealed just yet.

It turned out that his decision to attack was right because the three enemies didn't choose to avoid his attack. Instead of dodging or backing off, they sped up and ran straight towards him.

They had decided to do this after they realized that he was onto them. They stopped pretending that they were moving in the same direction as him as a matter of coincidence.
