Chapter 450: Groupies Call To Action.
He thought to himself, "I'd doesn't even matter if they can get away with it. They can do it if they are mad enough. They can attack me if they get desperate enough, so I think it is best to nip this problem in the bud."
He doesn't know what they have in mind, but he doesn't want to experience it, especially if they can get away with it. So he told his die-hard fans that some people wanted to take his life.
He might have exaggerated a little bit, but he didn't think it was wrong to do so. He was doubly sure that it was the right thing to do when Jade began sending him angry messages about how he was playing dirty.
He has fans from every walk of life. Some of them are from his dojo, and some of them were gained through his books.
His wide range of influence meant that he had fans in various families and sects. So he got to see what would happen if those fans began to work together to eliminate a vulnerable target.
And the Roar family was vulnerable. They only had three elders at the third mortal coil, and all three were at the early stages of the third mortal coil, so their power wasn't that different from those at the peak of the second mortal coil.
This made them easy pickings for everyone picking on them. Even before they made a move on him, they were made to regret thinking about it.
The attacks weren't purely physical. Not everyone used violence against them. Some people only attacked them economically and tried to destroy their sources of income with financial power.
But there were many others who used violent means against the Roe family. The combination of violent and financial pressure became too much for the Roe family less than a week after Arthur turned his fans on them.
The Roe family had to give up on all of their businesses and properties and go into hiding in order to survive the onslaught of pressure. Jade didn't like it at all.
She began with smashing his gate with her fists and cursing at him. But when that didn't work, she began sending angry messages to him through the identity network.
She called him a lot of names and said a lot about how he was being a coward that was easily scared, but Arthur didn't care. He refused to call back the hounds of hell that he had unleashed on her family.
He could delete her contact so that she wouldn't be able to contact him, but he liked receiving her messages. They made him chuckle and say, "And to think you thought it was smart to threaten me. Wherever did you get the idea and the guts to go along with it?"
He sent that question to her once, but she didn't reply. She said that he should come out to speak face-to-face with her if he wanted the answer.
He didn't do that because he didn't care to know the answer that much. No matter what she said to him, he remained determined to stay in his lab and work on the Life Pill Art.
To be specific, he was working on the revised part of the life pill art. He is still in the testing phase, so the life pill he is trying to create is based on his flesh, not Roar's.
He can heal easily thanks to his wood-based life seed, so if anything goes wrong, he can easily regenerate lost flesh. This means he can afford to start over and over again, practicing the refining process until he has mastered it.
Roar doesn't have that privilege. The poor dog can't regenerate at all. Every piece of him is too valuable to lose, so Arthur has to be the source of raw materials for testing for now.
The flesh that he needed was his bone marrow. He needs to cut out a piece of his bone containing his bone marrow and use it that way to make the life pill.
He chose to cut out from the bone in his lower leg. The bone he chose was the tibia. He cut out a nice cylindrical piece of it.
After cutting out the bone, he put it in a vat full of nutrient solution. Then he activated the formation that he had etched onto the inner wall of the vat.
The vat is a cylindrical barrel made with glass, so it is transparent. From his position on the outside, he can see all the arcane runes he etched with liquefied metal, one tiny piece at a time.
The array being drawn on the inside of the vat meant that it was in direct contact with the nutrient solution and in direct contact with the bone in the nutrient solution. So when he activated the formation, there was nothing standing in the way of it taking effect.
The effect wasn't easily visible on the surface because it was slow. So it would take time before the formation was done with its job.
In the meantime, the best way he could tell that something was going on was that the energy stones that he placed into the sockets of the formation above the nutrient solution were dimming as energy was drained from them.
The second best way to tell what was going on was through checking the readings from the sensor that he had added to the arrays. This was a part that he had added himself because the genius patriarch had a powerful divine sense and didn't think there was any need for sensors.
He, on the other hand, didn't even have a divine sense, so he couldn't fine-tune the information he was gaining from ambient mana, and his perception of mana was still lacking.
Despite his sensory handicaps, he had managed to create a way to sense the process of the conversion of the bone in somewhat real time. So he could tell that the process would take at least three days before it was completed.
