Chapter 453: Estimated Formation Master.
Arthur wasn't rest assured that everything was fine, so he checked the readings of the sensors to be sure. Then he checked the integrity and placement of the sensors to be sure that they were not giving false readings.
Only after he was sure that everything was fine did he sigh in relief. He checked the energy capacity of the life pill and the energy capacity of the energy stones that he used to charge it.
He compared the two and said, "1,100 units of energy went in, and 1,000 units of energy came out. So that's an efficiency of 90%. I'm glad that something still seems to be efficient in this revised life pill art."
He had used energy worth 1,100 units from the energy stones. In return, the life pill managed to convert and store 1,000 units of it. This kind of efficiency pleased him a lot.
He was also extra proud of himself for succeeding the energy infusion stage in his first attempt.
He said, "It seems I was right. I truly am not bad when it comes to formation engravings."
Saying that he is not bad is an understatement actually. The true estimate of his capabilities in regard to arrays and formations is to call him a master forger.
He believes he is master because he can create items like the sect ID card. This is not a measurement method he came up with. He had been told right from the first day of lessons that anyone that could create the sect ID card was a master.
He can create the sect ID card, so he calls himself a master. Even if he is overestimating his skills, he is certain that there are less than a handful of people in the entire outer sect that can compare to him.
That is just his overestimation. He has only met one person that can match him in terms of skill. But he knows that there might be others that he hasn't met yet, so he accounted for them.
The formation for the energy infusion was easy, and someone with his level of skill should be able to achieve it easily. It was why he was confident he would be able to succeed in one try. But he still took the cautious approach.
He considers it a good thing that he didn't need to resort to his backup, even though he prepared it. He only said with pride, "It seems I was worried for nothing."
Then he tested the life pill again. This time, it was for its elemental affinity. What he discovered made him sigh for another reason.
He sighed in regret and said, "The compatibility is very high, but not for someone like me."
The life pill is fine and ready for the next stage. The condition of the life is so fine that if he crushes the life seed within him right now, he will be able to replace it with this life pill without many problems.
Another advantage of this high compatibility is that if he forges a foundation into the life pill and assimilates it to forge his foundation, the process will go smoothly.
The only problem with the life seed is that it is only compatible with the wood element. He can't use the lightning element or any other element, so he can't actually use it to establish his own foundation.
This is a problem that people like him whose power doesn't reside completely in their life seed will have. In his case, the source of his lightning element is the lightning mark in his mind. The life seed can't copy it, so it can't possess it.
He said to cheer himself up, "At least, this process will be feasible for Roar. And I can also use the life seeds to practice foundation establishment. They are way better for testing than some dead corpse."
He tried his best, but the fact that he won't be able to escape the painful and deadly process of foundation establishment completely continued to linger in his mind, so he couldn't be appeased completely.
So he decided to find another way to cheer himself up.
He said to himself, "Since I can't use it to forge my foundation, my only option is to use it to create an external source of power. I believe that I can forge it into something powerful like a weapon."
The more he thought about this, the more excited he became. It was because he saw the opportunity to create something that would enhance his foundation with the external foundation.
Unfortunately, his excitement had to die down because he couldn't create what he wanted or test any of his ideas for his foundation yet. The wood base he wanted for his foundation was still absent, so he could only give up on his plans for his internal and external foundation for now.
This didn't mean he didn't have anything to do anymore. There was still the matter of helping Roar advance to the third mortal coil.
Now that he had perfected the process of creating a peak second mortal coil life pill, it was time to create a third mortal coil one and help Roar advance.
The prospect of achieving this made Arthur excited again. He rushed downstairs and outside to get Roar's bone marrow.
Roar needed a lot of healing pills and treatment after a large piece of his bone was taken. Arthur had to take a large piece so that he would have spares in case he failed during any stage.
After taking the bone marrow, he went back to his lab to work. He didn't leave it until he was done.
The process of making the life pill failed once. It failed at the first stage of transformation because Arthur didn't recalibrate the sensors to fit a beast's profile.
So when something went wrong during the transformation, the sensors didn't make any alarm. He remained blissfully unaware of this error and its repercussion when it mattered that he remembered.
