Multi Dimension Shop

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Door That Leads Everywhere

Takashi often pondered how he ended up with such a peculiar life. He was no hero, not by the standards of comic books or epic tales. He was simply Takashi Nakamura, a young man reborn in a wealthy family due to a most unusual cosmic accident. This "accident" involved none other than a certain "God" who misplaced a lightning bolt (or so the rumor went) and inadvertently killed Takashi. As compensation, Takashi was given a new life of comfort—and something more. He had been gifted a "System Shop," a mysterious power that thrummed like a secret heartbeat in his chest.

Yet what drew the eyes of strangers, and soon-to-be customers, was his unassuming door. It appeared like the door to any quaint family shop on a busy city street in modern-day Tokyo. Wooden, with a simple sliding lock, nothing too flashy. If you wandered by, you'd think it led to a typical convenience store or café. But behind that door lay the real wonder: a swirling nexus that opened to worlds beyond mortal comprehension. It was a portal connected to countless anime realms. And that was precisely what had begun to change Takashi's life.

He peered out of the shop window onto the bustling streets. Outside, normal life carried on—a mother and child strolling by, office workers shuffling to catch the next train, a bus that hissed to a stop on the corner. Only Takashi and a select few who might happen upon his threshold knew what lay beyond that door. In the back of the store, the faintest white glow emanated from the old wooden frame. Sometimes, soft whispers echoed there, as though each dimension quietly beckoned.

Takashi sighed, resting his elbows on the counter. He flicked his gaze to the clock: 2:47 PM. No customers yet. "System," he whispered, half out of boredom.

A luminous blue screen materialized out of thin air, floating gently in front of him. **System Online**, it declared in glowing letters. Beneath that, he saw his status:

1. User: Takashi Nakamura

2. Balance: 0

3. Product Catalog: 341,202 items (and counting)

4. Mission: Earn profits. Sell items to customers from any dimension.

"There's nothing free, everything has a price," the System chirped in a monotone female voice. It always repeated that motto.

Takashi huffed a laugh. "You think I don't remember? You've been drilling that into my head ever since I was reincarnated." He closed the System interface with a casual swipe of his hand. Even after months of living with the Shop, he still hadn't grown entirely accustomed to the glowing holograms.

He patted the counter, glancing at the variety of items on display. The front shelves mostly held harmless items: packaged snacks and beverages from all around the modern world, plushies and trinkets from the anime realms that happened to slip through the dimension door. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. Deeper in the store, hidden in locked display cases, were objects that could reshape entire worlds—magical swords, artificially enhanced potions, forbidden spell tomes, futuristic firearms from alternate timelines. He once jokingly labeled that area "The Vault," because it felt safer that way.

A quiet chime echoed from the back door. Takashi's ears perked up. That was no ordinary sound—the door connecting worlds was stirring. He moved quickly, though not in a panic. He'd been told eventually someone was bound to cross over. That was part of the arrangement. **He** never had to forcibly bring in customers. If they wished for something dearly enough and had some cosmic resonance with the Shop, they would find their way to the threshold. In time, the door would guide them here.

He saw a flicker of azure light swirl around the door's frame. **Is it a new customer?** he wondered, heart thumping with excitement. He'd had a handful of visitors since the Shop awakened, but each time felt like opening a treasure chest of possibilities. There was no telling who—or what—would step in.

The door creaked open on its own, revealing a breathtaking moment of dimensional overlap. For a second, Takashi glimpsed a world of floating lights that hummed like electricity, shaped by ancient magic. Then, through the rippling air, a figure stepped across.

**She** was slender, with dark hair pinned neatly back, her crimson skirt and top emanating a refined aura. The moment she placed a booted foot on Takashi's shop floor, she froze, her gemstone-like eyes flicking across the shelves of random wares. She took a measured breath, tension coiled in her posture. Her presence was like a blade drawn halfway from its sheath.

Takashi recognized her in an instant. In his previous life, he had devoured anime, manga, and visual novels. He knew those twin-tails and that regal, self-assured expression anywhere. **Rin Tohsaka**, from the Nasuverse—one of the main heroines from the Fate series.

He almost swallowed his own tongue. **This is real.** He forced a casual grin, adopting a merchant's polite tone. "Welcome. How can I help you today?"

Rin's eyes narrowed as she glanced around. Slowly, she lowered the defensive stance in her shoulders. "Where am I?" Her voice was calm but laced with cautious curiosity.

"This is my shop," Takashi explained, motioning to the tidy interior. "You could consider it… a place that exists between worlds." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Though to me, it's just home."

Rin studied the narrow aisles lined with oddities: normal, everyday grocery items next to bizarre potions locked behind glass. The glimmer of something distinctly magical behind one case drew her attention. A faint light traced her collar where her magical circuits might be reacting. "You're telling me this is some kind of interdimensional market?" she asked, tapping a finger against her elbow.

"That's one way to put it." Takashi leaned on the counter. "And you're my first official customer from… well, from your particular dimension, Miss Tohsaka."

She blinked, slightly rattled that he knew her name. "How—" she began, but promptly sealed her lips. In the end, she decided that knowledge itself was neither threat nor comfort. "No matter," she said tersely. "But I have to say, stumbling in here was not part of my plan. I was studying the grail war, practicing a dimensional scrying ritual, and the next thing I knew, I caught a flicker of a portal that didn't belong. I only pursued it out of curiosity."

Takashi's lips curved in a knowing smile. "Often it's our curiosity that leads us here. In this shop, we have everything. When we say 'everything,' we mean absolutely anything you can imagine. But, of course, are you willing to pay the price for receiving it?"

A faint flicker of suspicion sparked in Rin's eyes. "That phrasing… that's an ominous statement." She reached into the pocket of her jacket, presumably checking for her gemstones or some mystic code. "What exactly do you sell?"

"Whatever your heart desires," Takashi answered, letting a tinge of theatrics slip into his voice. "It could be magical artifacts to bolster your magecraft, the most advanced modern technology from my realm, or potions to enhance your abilities. But everything has a cost, Miss Tohsaka." He paused, studying her carefully. "You can purchase with coin, with bartered items, or… other forms of exchange."

Rin's posture softened just a fraction, curiosity winning out over apprehension. "I won't lie; I am intrigued. You said you have magical artifacts? Mind if I take a look?"

"By all means," Takashi invited, gesturing to the locked cases. They approached a sleek display cabinet that shimmered softly. Inside were items of all shapes and sizes: an ornate staff of dwarven make, a dagger that seemed to reflect moonlight even in the dim shop lighting, and a necklace that glowed with an inner flame.

Rin's brows arched at the variety. "These are incredible." She could sense the faint thrums of power emanating from each. Her analytical mind set to work, scanning for illusions or curses. None of these relics appeared to be illusions. Each possessed genuine magical presence.

Takashi watched her, remembering her characterization from Fate/Stay Night: proud, brilliant, meticulous. He observed the small changes in her expression, the way she tried to maintain an aloof demeanor. "Is there something in particular you're searching for?" he asked. "I also have a private warehouse if you're looking for something more… specialized."

Rin tapped her chin thoughtfully. "I was in the middle of preparing for the Holy Grail War, so I'm particularly interested in anything that could give me an edge in high-level combat." Her eyes flicked to a staff, then to a ring enclosed in black velvet. "But on second thought, the real question is how do I pay? My world's currency might not hold any value here."

Takashi clicked his tongue. "The System can convert currency from different worlds, but that's only if you can muster enough. Alternatively, you can offer an equivalent item from your dimension—a gem or artifact. Maybe a piece of knowledge or magical formula you have. The price can vary widely. The System sets the terms, but I can usually negotiate to an extent."

She considered the ring for a moment. "I see." Another silent pause. Then she turned to Takashi. "That ring behind the glass—what does it do exactly?"

Takashi smiled. He stepped around the counter, gently unlocking the display. He pulled the ring from its cushion. A faint light flared in the center, like a tiny star pulsing at its core. "It's called the 'Starweave Ring.' The System's description: *Enhances the wearer's mana flow by approximately thirty percent and offers limited protective wards against mental interference.* It might be helpful for your magecraft, though it's best suited for subtle enhancements rather than raw power outputs."

Rin nodded, absorbing the details. She glanced at the ring with a mixture of longing and intellectual curiosity. This was no trifling trinket. The potential synergy with her gem-based magecraft was huge. "I'm definitely interested," she murmured. "But I need to know the cost."

Takashi let out a small sigh. "I'll check with the System." With practiced ease, he invoked the invisible interface. A wave of shimmering code scrolled in front of him. "Hmm… the System is asking for either five extremely high-quality mana crystals or a payment of 1,500 gold coins if converted from your dimension's currency. Alternatively, you can trade a piece of magecraft knowledge or mystic code of a similar rank."

Rin's mind whirred. She did have a few unique gem-crafting techniques that might qualify. But selling away vital magecraft knowledge that belonged to her family wasn't a decision to make lightly. "I need some time to think," she replied, stepping back from the display.

"Of course," Takashi said, gently placing the ring back. "There's no pressure. Feel free to browse anything else in the Shop. There's also, well, normal items, if you want a snack?" He pointed to a shelf with instant noodles, candy bars, and sodas that were foreign to Rin's world.

She gave him a measured look. "In a shop that sells mythical weapons and advanced technology, you also sell… potato chips?"

Takashi shrugged, a smile tugging at his lips. "You'd be surprised how many travelers from different worlds crave everyday comforts. I've had a legendary swordsman from another dimension buy an entire box of chocolate bars."

Rin couldn't help a faint grin. "Fair point."

In that moment of shared humor, Takashi felt a sense of relief. Rin Tohsaka might be a serious magus from a war-torn scenario, but here she stood, half-amused by his shop's bizarre mix of the ordinary and the extraordinary. The tension between them eased somewhat, replaced by curiosity on both sides.

They spoke further about the Shop's unique nature. Takashi revealed that he had been reincarnated into a wealthy family in modern-day Tokyo—where, ironically, most people had no clue about the dimension door in the back. He explained his arrangement with "God" and the subsequent discovery of the System Shop. There was an entire realm of comedic tragedy in how Takashi had tried to lead a normal life until the day the door manifested, connecting his storehouse to infinite realities.

Rin listened intently, occasionally interjecting with remarks about how improbable or dangerous such a phenomenon could be. "Your door is effectively a location with unlimited potential. There are some in my world who'd kill to seize that power." Her voice turned more somber. "You'll need to be careful."

"I know," Takashi replied, gaze flicking to the door that still shimmered faintly. "But ironically, it's not exactly something I can switch off. The blessing from God… or the curse, depending on perspective… ensures the portal remains active. And according to the System, it's my responsibility to oversee it, handle any visitors, and ensure that 'every transaction is made fairly.'" He exhaled. "Believe me, I don't plan on letting any unscrupulous tyrants waltz in and pillage my stock."

She folded her arms. "Still, you're just… one person. If your customers start including arch-demons or powerful spirits, you'll need some defense mechanism or a method to protect yourself."

Takashi nodded, a grim smile forming. "The System does offer me some protections, though it's mostly behind the scenes. If a customer tries to steal or harm me within the Shop, the dimensional portal can forcibly eject them or block their powers. It's apparently an ingrained rule of the Shop—like a neutral zone. But beyond these walls, I'm on my own."

Rin assessed him carefully. "You don't strike me as a naive fool," she concluded. "You're cautious, but you also have the look of someone who still can't believe the magnitude of what's happening. That's probably normal for a person in your situation."

He laughed. "No arguments there. This is definitely more than I bargained for, but it's my second shot at life, so I plan to make the most of it."

A short silence fell between them. Rin, ironically, found this place oddly comforting. It reminded her of the small corners of respite she found in her own world—places where she could breathe, away from the chaos of the war for the Holy Grail. Here, nobody was battling, no Servants lunged from the shadows. Sure, there was an unnatural swirl of cosmic energy in the next room, but Takashi's genuine courtesy made it almost homely.

She glanced back at the ring under glass. "Let's say I wanted that ring. If I choose to pay with a piece of knowledge, would it remain in your inventory, or would it vanish once I offer it?"

Takashi tapped the display case's glass gently, setting it humming with a faint protective barrier. "Once the trade is made, the System records that knowledge as a commodity it can replicate or store, effectively removing it from your possession as a unique trade. But I don't think it literally wipes the knowledge from your mind. It's more like providing the blueprint. You'd still recall it, but you'd have to accept that the Shop could potentially sell that same knowledge to others in the future—assuming it's requested."

Rin frowned. The Tohsaka family prided itself on its gemcraft secrets, passing them down through generations. Could she part with something so precious? Yet that ring could be a game-changer in the Grail War, especially if she aimed to outmaneuver her fellow masters.

She lifted her eyes, meeting Takashi's. "If I do that… I want a guarantee you won't sell Tohsaka secrets to someone else from my dimension."

Takashi considered. "The System might allow me to place a restriction. I can try. Let me see…" He pulled up the intangible interface again, scanning columns of data. "Yes, there's a clause that says I can designate certain trade knowledge with dimension-based exclusivity. So it'd remain 'locked' unless a prospective buyer was from a different dimension. Would that help?"

Rin's expression softened. "It's a start. Means I'm not arming a potential rival from my own world. Fine. That might be acceptable."

She took a small gem from her pocket, swirling with condensed mana, and began to channel a bit of her magecraft. The gem glowed, showcasing a glimpse of her unique technique. "This is the first half," she said, referencing the knowledge. "I'll finalize the details if we agree on a fair deal. I assume the ring is guaranteed to function for me as described?"

"Guaranteed, and if there's a problem, we have a return policy," Takashi joked, though the System had indeed a function for refunds under certain extraordinary circumstances.

Rin nodded, satisfied. She gently placed her gem on the counter, turning it in her slender fingers. "Alright then, how do we finalize this?"

Takashi's eyes lit up. "We confirm with the System." He opened the interface, initiating the trade. A bright swirl of light encompassed them both, scanning for the item's authenticity and the proposed knowledge. Another notification popped up: **Trade Approved.**

A quiet hum of energy passed between them. The gem vanished, leaving behind a small pulse of magical residue. In its place, the ring materialized in Rin's palm. She slipped it onto her finger, feeling the immediate rush of more fluid mana circulation.

She closed her eyes, testing it. **It's real.** The ring hummed in sync with her circuits, every bit as potent as promised. Her senses sharpened, and she let out a breath of amazement. "It's remarkable," she murmured.

Takashi grinned. "Congratulations on your first purchase. Please take care of it—and yourself."

Rin gazed at the ring, then back at the dimension door. "I suppose I'll have to return to my own world soon. But… this place interests me. Would it be alright if I come again? I doubt I'll stop at just one item if I manage to gather enough resources."

Takashi gave a friendly wave of his hand. "The door is always open to returning customers. Well, as long as you have something to trade. You might have to trace the dimensional signature or something from your side, but the Shop will call you if it sees fit."

She nodded, a ghost of a smile on her lips. "Fine. Until next time, then." She turned on her heel and strode toward the swirling portal.

Just before she stepped through, she paused. "Takashi Nakamura… you're an odd one, but I appreciate your directness. Thank you."

With that, she crossed back into her world. The door shut behind her, the swirling light dissipating. Silence enveloped the shop, leaving Takashi alone with the faint hum of a realm that had once again sealed itself.

He leaned against the counter, letting out a deep breath. His first official transaction with a major figure from an anime world had gone… surprisingly well. Adrenaline still coursed through him. She had been every bit as intimidating as he imagined, but also gracious in her own refined way.

A chime rang out again, but this time it was the System, delivering a new mission status:

**Transaction Completed**

**Profit Earned**: +1,500 Shop Credits (Equivalent to knowledge value)

**Current Balance**: 1,500 Shop Credits

He stared at the hologram, mouth quirking into a wide grin. "So it begins," he muttered. "The door really does connect to everything."

With renewed excitement, he stored away the precious knowledge that Rin had traded, making sure to apply the dimension restriction as promised. Then, hooking a thumb in his pocket, he strolled back toward the front of the shop. Somewhere outside, the hum of modern cars buzzed by. Life went on, oblivious to the cosmic commerce that had just taken place within these four walls.

Takashi glanced one more time at the dimension door. Through it, uncountable wonders and dangers might appear. This was just the first step in a story that would bring legendary heroes, cunning anti-heroes, and otherworldly beings to his humble shop. Each came with their own desires, illusions, and bargains.

At the memory of Rin's confident smile and the subtle hum of magic as she left, Takashi felt a spark of possibility light up inside him. He had been thrust into this peculiar fate, gifted by "God" to rectify a cosmic blunder. Yet now it was his to shape—an extraordinary existence as a merchant straddling infinite universes.

"There's nothing free," the System's words echoed again in his mind, "everything has a price."

He couldn't help but answer in a hushed voice, "And that's exactly why this Shop exists."

He closed his eyes, letting the moment settle. Outside, the sun was dipping lower, painting the street in orange and red. Soon, the day would end, and then a new one would begin. And who knew what that day would bring? Another version of a skilled magus? An armored knight from a medieval world? A giant mecha pilot looking for advanced weapon parts?

Whatever came, Takashi stood ready, wearing the mantle of the interdimensional Shopkeeper. His life might not be the normal one he once wanted, but it was undeniably exciting. **And perhaps, that was the truest blessing "God" could have given him.**
