Chapter 153: Chapter 153 - Come On, You Make the Move
"Hey, Bete, that's enough. You're ruining the taste of the booze."
Loki couldn't take it anymore and stepped in to mediate.
But Bete, still belligerent and drunk, sneered and provoked further.
"You wanna take me on, huh?"
"Sure."
Raven rolled up his sleeves and slammed his beer mug down on the table.
Bete was still a Level 5 werewolf.
But Raven…
Was no longer the Level 1 rookie from before.
Times had changed.
"This is gonna be good~"
"Do it!"
"Kick his ass!"
"Fight! Fight!"
The surrounding Loki Familia members grabbed their drinks and huddled around to watch the spectacle.
Amid the rowdy cheers and spirited atmosphere, Raven took on Bete without holding back.
Half an hour later…
Bete was sprawled out on the floor like a drunk mutt, completely wasted.
"Victory!"
Raven raised his arm high and declared his triumph.
Instantly, the entire tavern erupted with cheers and laughter.
"He's insane! The Heavenly Demon Lord really is something!"
"He downed over five catties of booze and still looks totally sober!"
"Incredible. Seriously, mad respect."
After spending a lively and joyful time with them, Raven realized it was getting late.
"Alright, you all keep drinking."
"I won't bother you anymore."
With that, he excused himself and left the raucous celebration of the Loki Familia.
He returned to his own group.
"Captain Raven… you're amazing at holding your liquor."
Daphne offered a respectful thumbs-up.
"Haha, really? If I hadn't left, I might've ended up passed out too."
Raven took a bite of herb-roasted chicken thigh and continued,
"You've all eaten your fill, right?"
"We have," Mikoto nodded.
"Then… let's go settle the bill."
At the front counter:
"Mama Mia, how much is the total?"
Raven asked with a grin.
"Not bad, kid. You even outdrank the Mad Wolf."
"Comes to 51,204 valis. I'll round it down for you—make it a clean 51,000."
Mia Grand laughed heartily.
"Here you go."
Raven handed over a pouch of gold coins.
Mia accepted it with ease.
"Make sure to come back often."
"No problem."
"Syr, Ryuu?"
Just as they were about to leave, they bumped into Syr and Ryuu coming out from the kitchen.
Ryuu's gaze flickered, her expression looking somewhat complicated.
Syr, on the other hand, showed faint displeasure in her eyes.
No doubt they weren't too happy seeing Raven laughing and drinking with the Loki Familia earlier.
But…
Syr quickly put on a smile and asked,
"Raven-san, heading to the Dungeon tomorrow?"
"Yeah."
"Then don't forget to stop by. I'll have a delicious lunchbox ready for you~"
"Sure thing."
"Alright… see you tomorrow."
"Yeah, bye~"
Raven gave Ryuu a glance, then turned and left the tavern with his team.
Due to her bounty status, Ryuu Lyon had taken on the alias "Ryulia" for now.
Outside, Raven led the three girls straight toward the Tower of Babel.
Letting them stay in that broken-down church basement wasn't ideal.
And booking an inn?
Totally unnecessary.
Tower of Babel, 19th Floor.
As the doors opened—
They were greeted by a magnificently decorated reception hall, with elaborate magic stone chandeliers casting a cold brilliance.
The high walls loomed over plush, clean carpets, casting long shadows.
The interior design was nothing short of grandiose—richly adorned and dignified in every corner.
The golden, extravagant furnishings couldn't quite mask the underlying pressure and solitude of the room.
"Since our base is still under renovation, we'll stay here tonight."
"This is a newly finished commercial suite."
"There are several rest areas inside—beds and bedding all prepared."
The palace-like setting left Raven thoroughly satisfied.
Well…
No surprise—it was built with 1.5 billion valis.
Definitely worth the cost.
Mikoto looked around in astonishment and muttered,
"S-So luxurious…"
"This is my first time on an upper floor of Babel."
Even the well-traveled Daphne couldn't help but gasp.
"This is… a commercial suite?"
"Yep."
"Bathrooms, kitchen, all furnished—fully equipped."
"Alright, it's getting late."
"We'll be entering the Dungeon tomorrow, so everyone should get some rest."
Raven walked over to a massive rectangular glass panel that took up an entire wall.
His gaze swept over the brilliant night view below.
Since the glass wall faced south—
He had a full view of the entire southern district of Orario.
Of course,
He didn't have Freyja's eyes of divine insight, so he couldn't see too clearly.
Later that night.
Lying alone on his bed, Raven found himself unable to sleep.
Whether it was the alcohol or something else, his mind was restless.
He opened his eyes and muttered to himself,
"I haven't caught up with Airmid in a while… maybe I'll visit her tonight?"
"Or maybe Ryuu…"
"Forget it, I'll go see Ais instead."
As the city of Orario fell silent under the blanket of night—
At the Twilight Manor, headquarters of the Loki Familia, all the lights were out.
This grand mansion, known as the "Long Residence," stood in deep darkness.
Inside the estate—
The corridor's glowing magic stone lamps flickered like candlelight, casting a swaying flame-like glow.
The guards at the gate—one man and one woman—had just switched shifts with a pair of beastkin and elf girls.
In one of the women's tower rooms,
A brilliant white magic circle suddenly shimmered into existence.
Ais, sleeping soundly on her bed, stirred and opened her eyes.
"…Who's there?"
"It's me."
"Ra—ven?"
"Yeah."
"How did you get in?"
Ais sat up and turned on the lights.
Her room was small.
Just a bed, a table, and a curtain. Minimal furniture.
But it was tidy.
Spotless and simple.
"I used my space-type magic. Just teleported in."
Raven shamelessly sat down on her snow-white bed sheets.
"Space… magic?"
Ais blinked in surprise, tilting her head.
"Yeah, rare stuff. Anyway, did your stats update?"
Raven glanced at her pink pajamas.
"…Mm. You were right. I gained 372 points in total."
"The growth is… very noticeable."
"Thank you, Raven."
Ais whispered her thanks.
"Don't mention it."
Raven waved it off casually.
"…Can you make me even stronger?"
"I… I promise I won't bite too hard this time."
Ais hung her head, her cheeks reddening.
After all, no adventurer would pass up a shortcut to power.
To be honest—
She was clumsy with her mouth skills.
So was Ryuu, actually. Both of them needed hands-on coaching.
Between the two—
Raven definitely preferred Airmid and Tiona's oral talents.
"Alright, fine."
After agreeing, he curiously asked,
"By the way, who's sleeping next door?"
Ais glanced shyly at the bulge in his pants.
"…Riveria."
Riveria?
That made things a bit more exciting.
He wondered how soundproof the walls were…
"Come on, you make the move."
Raven lay back on her bed.
"…Okay."
…
The door…
