Multiverse: Invasion of the 2D Heroines

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Heroine vs Demon Lord → Both Get Sent to the Police

For girls especially those sensitive about their size hearing the one thing they don't want to hear is basically like maxing out the "Taunt" skill in a boss fight.

The crimson-haired girl's hair bristled like a witch on the verge of casting a curse. Her shoulders trembled, her delicate fists clenched so tightly her knuckles cracked. Her beautiful face twisted in barely restrained rage, her pearly white teeth clenched as if she could bite through steel. The fiery yellow-green eyes locked on him were practically shooting daggers.

Yoru Moonshadow's taunt had hit critical aggro. He braced himself for the inevitable a no-holds-barred street fight against a woman who was about to lose all reason.

"Hehe…"

Her smile was icy, the kind that made his scalp tingle.

The moment her gaze shifted from fury to terrifying calm, Yoru instinctively raised his right arm to block.

Bang!

Her spinning kick landed cleanly against his forearm, making him grimace and stumble back several steps.

What the hell? How could such a skinny girl kick this hard?

Without missing a beat, she grabbed the rolling pin again and lunged at him like a missile.

Yoru Moonshadow bobbed and weaved, barely dodging the precise, rapid jabs.

It was just a rolling pin, but in her hands, it had the sharpness and speed of a real weapon. Her technique was crisp, fluid this wasn't some random angry girl. She was trained, possibly a top-tier martial artist.

Clack, clack…

Their wooden weapons clashed as Yoru scrambled to grab another rolling pin from the shelf to defend himself. But even armed, he was slowly being pushed back.

His combat memories, though vast, couldn't make up for his currently limited human body.

Smack.

"Ugh!"

Her strike connected with his fingers, making him wince as his weapon dropped from his grasp.

Enough of this.

Yoru made the split-second decision to charge straight in, taking a few glancing blows to close the distance.

His reckless advance caught her off-guard, throwing off her rhythm.

In the next instant, he barreled into her, tackling her to the ground.

Bang!

"Argh!"

He even threw in a headbutt as they tumbled.

The two of them rolled across the floor in a chaotic heap, limbs entangled as they grappled for control.

She recovered quickly, locking his wrists behind his back with alarming strength. Yoru felt like his shoulders were on the verge of popping.

Her toned legs wrapped around his waist like steel cables, trapping him in place.

Their current position looked dangerously like something pulled from a questionable doujinshi.

Trapped and immobilized, his face was awkwardly pressed somewhere… soft?

Wait what exactly was he pressed against?

It didn't matter. He wasn't about to surrender.

He gritted his teeth, shifted his weight, and in a desperate move, smashed his forehead into hers again.

"Ahh!"

Her pained cry echoed as she instinctively released him.

Yoru tumbled backward, clutching his head. "Damn it, my head's still sore from earlier."

She sat up, her expression pale and rattled, her chest rising and falling as she steadied her breathing.

Her glare was sharp enough to cut steel.

"You...you bastard!"

Her clenched fists trembled with the urge to obliterate him.

Yoru, as if he couldn't care less, spat to the side and shot her a look of utter disdain, as though he'd just touched something filthy.

Her face flushed several shades darker.

Was provoking her further a good idea? Of course not.

Did he do it anyway? Absolutely.

He turned on his heel to escape, but in his path, a group of well-meaning bystanders had already gathered along with several uniformed officers.

"Over here, over here! That's him!"

"You two, freeze!"

Of course someone had called the cops after such a ridiculous public brawl.

And so, at the nearby police station…

Three people sat side by side: the thoroughly battered Yoru Moonshadow, the firebrand self-proclaimed justice warrior Emi Yusa, and the deceptively elegant Shizuno Urushibara.

Across from them sat a stern-faced male officer and a female officer.

Shizuno's explanation: she thought Yoru was acting suspiciously, like a potential pervert about to attack someone, so she stepped in first to stop him from committing a crime.

Her flawless, polite tone and refined aura made the officers immediately believe her version.

Emi Yusa's explanation: she happened to pass by, couldn't tolerate Yoru's barbaric behavior, and bravely intervened. She had no idea the guy was so shameless he'd actually fight back against girls, which only proved Shizuno's point.

Her righteous delivery made the officers nod even more.

Finally, Yoru Moonshadow's explanation: he was peacefully buying groceries when Shizuno suddenly attacked him like a lunatic. Then Emi Yusa, a short-tempered brawler, jumped in without understanding the situation and kicked him in the gut. He calmly recommended that both girls get their mental health checked.

Naturally, Yoru's version was met with icy glares from everyone present, including the officers.

With his bruised face and his troublemaker vibe, Yoru looked exactly like someone who probably went around harassing girls.

Good-looking girls would always have the upper hand. Looks were justice, huh?

But the officers didn't immediately declare him guilty.

Ten minutes later, they retrieved the security footage.

Turns out, Yoru really was the victim.

"Ugh, my head… my stomach… I'm in so much pain!"

Yoru groaned theatrically, grabbing his head and curling up as if on death's door.

"Your head hurts, but you're holding your stomach?"

"Huh? Oh, everything hurts. Just terrible. Probably long-term psychological damage, too."

He flatly refused compensation or medical treatment. Instead, he demanded the two girls apologize on the spot.

But he didn't just want a simple apology he insisted they call him "Onii-chan."

Was it because he enjoyed being called that? No. It was purely to mess with them.

Emi Yusa's face turned bright red, looking like she was about to explode.

Yoru's smug grin only deepened.

Watching his figure walk away, Emi Yusa seethed, her chest still aching from their earlier fight. That guy was the worst.

Meanwhile, Shizuno Urushibara quietly contemplated something.

When she had helped him up earlier, she'd felt a strange flicker of familiarity something about him resonated with her past life memories.

As for why the black mist hadn't affected him, she assumed it must have been completely erased by the surface world's rigid physical laws.

Oh, and on the way to the station, he wouldn't stop muttering "fake, fake, fake," infuriating her to no end. He actually thought her size was enhanced.

Shizuno didn't particularly mind the "Onii-chan" thing. She just wanted to get it over with quickly. She'd call him that on the surface and secretly think of him as a pig.

Emi Yusa, on the other hand, found it deeply mortifying.

Hopefully, they'd never run into that infuriating guy again.

But fate had other plans.
