Chapter 285: Chapter 282: Tennis and Daily Life

If it were just about playing tennis, it wouldn't be a big deal. It'd be like playing house. Even though there were still many tasks to complete, for one, there was no little donkey by his ear saying, "Doctor, you can't rest yet." And two, while there were many tasks, there was no need to rush. Hanachirusato was still living well in Fuyuki City, Koyanskaya was still lively in Tunguska, and Yae Miko spent her days lazing around reading light novels.

But joining the tennis club…

"Sorry, Totsuka-san. As the saying goes, there can't be two suns in the sky. For me, Li Mo, there's only one club president, and that's Yukinoshita Yukino." Li Mo spoke with an air of righteous solemnity.

Originally, he had planned to respond with something like, "The Service Club president is cute, speaks nicely, and I really like it here." But after taking a good look at Totsuka Saika's appearance, he changed his approach.

Totsuka Saika was also very cute. If Li Mo had to rate their looks, he'd choose Totsuka Saika over Yuigahama Yui.

Of course, if Totsuka Saika weren't a boy, he'd choose Yuigahama Yui.

Ah, men.

It's best not to dwell on messy thoughts. Totsuka Saika had only brought it up casually, and soon the training resumed.

Even though Totsuka Saika was a boy, his stamina was no match for a demon's. Even while controlling his strength and speed, the vast difference in endurance left Totsuka Saika completely overwhelmed.

By the end, the training session had to be paused. Totsuka Saika was drenched in sweat, his clothes clinging to his skin.

In contrast, Li Mo didn't have a single drop of sweat on his forehead.

"Li Mo-kun, your stamina is amazing."

"Just average, third in the world."

Now, there was one more person sitting on the sidelines—Totsuka Saika. Li Mo had completely worn him out, and his exhaustion forced him to take a break.

Totsuka Saika said, "Looks like today's training will have to end early. I didn't realize I'd pushed my stamina to the danger zone."

As a member of the tennis club, Totsuka Saika was well aware of his physical limits. He was now dangerously close to them. The little stamina he had left was only enough for him to walk, and he had even lost the strength to swing his racket.

"Why didn't you take a break earlier, Saika?"

"That's a good question, Hachiman. It's because Li Mo-kun was teaching me a technique." Totsuka Saika explained. "But, Li Mo-kun, have you played tennis before? Why are you so skilled?"

Without a doubt, today had been his most rewarding session. Not only had Li Mo been feeding him easy shots, but he had also been guiding him on how to improve.

Li Mo stood at a level far above his own.

"Tennis? I've never played before. Today was my first time touching a tennis racket. But I've done other sports before, and the experience I gained from those can be applied here."

By "other sports," he meant demon slaying. Most of Li Mo's combat experience had been accumulated in the Demon Slayer world. Even after learning magic and onmyōjutsu, he still leaned more toward close-quarters combat.

The technique of force dispersion required precise control over every muscle and the strength behind it. Combined with his past experiences of slaying demons, his brain could tightly calculate how much force and at what angle he needed to swing the racket to land the ball exactly where he wanted.

He could even predict his opponent's reactions. It wasn't that there were too many possibilities, but as more information came in, the possibilities gradually narrowed…

"I call this technique the 'Tezuka Zone.' It's a technique that allows you to win matches without moving from your spot, completely toying with your opponent!"

"Isn't that just a technique from the manga?!"

Once again, Hikigaya Hachiman took on the role of the designated snarker.

This world had *A Certain Magical Index*, *Demon Slayer*, so why not *The Prince of Tennis*?

"Just because it's a technique from a manga doesn't mean it can't be replicated. At its core, the Tezuka Zone relies on overwhelming experience and skill. It's the most efficient way to dominate weaker opponents. Of course, it's a bit of a cheat."

The human brain doesn't calculate with the precision of a computer but rather through fuzzy logic. Being able to predict where the ball would land was based on past experiences, applying those lessons to the present. And because fuzzy logic doesn't require pinpoint accuracy, there's a certain margin of error.

As a demon, Li Mo's intelligence had also increased. But his brain still operated on fuzzy logic, though his mathematical intuition had improved significantly. While he couldn't derive the quantum world like Einstein, calculating the trajectory of a tennis ball was child's play.

"So the technique you taught Saika was this?"

"No, I taught him the Twist Serve."

"That's still a technique from the manga!" Hikigaya Hachiman, as the snarker, was perfect. Aruji had found his successor.

Li Mo didn't respond, simply smiling as he watched the lively Hikigaya Hachiman.

Totsuka Saika tugged at Hikigaya's sleeve and whispered, "Hachiman, the Twist Serve actually exists in real life. It's just not as exaggerated as in the manga."

The tennis club member successfully sank Hikigaya Hachiman.

Ah, to make bold claims about a field one is unfamiliar with—this is not something a lonely king would do.

So, I made a mistake. Why are you all looking at me like that?!

"Alright, Hikki's being unusually lively today. Let's not pressure him," Yuigahama Yui said.

Instantly, the looks directed at Hikigaya turned to pity.

Even Yuigahama had noticed Hikigaya's awkwardness.

The air fell into a brief silence.

"Um, well, it's still early. Why don't we go to Tokyo?" Yuigahama Yui, realizing she had unintentionally made things worse, quickly tried to make amends.

"Totsuka-kun?"

Yukinoshita Yukino turned her gaze to Totsuka Saika, who shook his head. "I'm completely drained. I might need to go home and rest. But, could this request be turned into a long-term one?"

"What does Li-san think?"

"I don't mind, but I'll need Hikigaya Hachiman to come with me."

"Huh?" Hikigaya Hachiman was stunned. "Why does this involve me?"

"Because it's fun," Li Mo said with a wink.

"Indeed."

Yukinoshita nodded. "What about you, Hikigaya?"

"Well…" Would it be like going to work? If I just sit on the sidelines, wouldn't that be too awkward? Hikigaya hesitated.

"Hachiman, could I trouble you?"

"No problem."

Hikigaya Hachiman gave an unexpectedly enthusiastic affirmative answer.

Li Mo watched all of this unfold.

If Totsuka Saika were a girl, there probably wouldn't be a story about the Service Club. *My Youth Romantic Comedy* would've turned into "Hikigaya and Totsuka's Sweet Story."

"How about after school on weekdays?"

"What about weekends?" Totsuka Saika asked.

Li Mo replied, "No can do. I've got to hit the gym."

In the city, if you can't find someone to fight, you might as well work out.

Perhaps, this is what daily life is all about.
