Chapter 57: A conspiracy
I woke up early in the morning with Kishirika lying on top of me. A smile spread across my face as I slowly pushed her off me and climbed out of the earth igloo.
The weather around me was snowy as always, and a sense of calm settled over me.
"It wouldn't be a bad idea to settle down in this country with my whole family..." I muttered to myself, and it was true.
From my past life, I dreamed of living in mountainous places with forests and mountains, and Ranoa was the perfect environment for this long-lasting dream of mine.
So, taking a deep breath, filling my lungs with fresh air, I built a fire and from my pocket-sized container took out some raw wild boar meat and began to roast it.
Shortly after, Kishirika emerged from the earth igloo, perhaps because of the smell of the meat being cooked, and lay down beside me.
"Good morning..." she murmured sleepily.
"Good morning, how did you sleep?" I asked, and she blushed.
"What do you think? You didn't let me rest!" she pouted, and I just smiled, stroking her head as she let out a satisfied sigh.
"Well, that only happened because someone kept saying, 'Don't stop!'" I said with a mocking smile, and she blushed deeply as she avoided my gaze.
We remained silent while the meat cooked, and Philip finally emerged from his earthen igloo and sat down next to us directly to eat.
Even so, I noticed he was eating slowly, as if he was delaying the inevitable...
Even so, I let it be, but I made a mental note to go twice as fast this time.
Looking at the ring map, I could see that Hilda's group was about three days' walk away from us, so if we continued at our current speed or increased our speed, we would catch up to them by the end of the day.
This brought a huge smile to my face, and the three of us flew off.
Unfortunately, Philip almost threw up on my back, so I had to slow down to 400 km/h until nightfall.
...
[Orsted POV]
"..." I remained silent as I walked through the cold and desolate mountains of the Red Wrym's lower fang.
Beside me was a girl with facial features I'd never seen before in my more than 20,000 years of experience in this world.
Although she couldn't speak my language and we couldn't understand each other, it was clear she wasn't from this world.
I found her alone and exhausted in the middle of the Mana disaster crater in Roa 20 days ago. Seeing that she didn't fear me and followed me wherever I went, I decided to take her with me.
Honestly, having someone who doesn't want to try to kill me out of instinct is comforting... is that the word?
Even so, these new feelings were completely overshadowed by the enormous changes this loop has undergone.
The most notable would be the destruction of Roa and the emergence of the current third world power [Rudeus the Magical God of Fighting].
His name had never appeared in the world powers before, and no one had ever climbed the rankings so quickly.
I immediately tried to find out what had become of this individual, but I couldn't find anything.
Even so, I had a bad feeling, something that had never happened to me in my thousands of years of life.
"Orsted?" the girl's voice pulled me out of my thoughts, and I realized I'd been standing in the same spot for a while, which made me frown even more.
"Let's continue," I said, and she nodded. Fortunately, she'd already learned to recognize basic words.
The topic of Rudeus and the girl had momentarily deviated from my objectives, something I'd never done before, but now found myself doing.
Even so, strangely, I didn't find it bothersome. My current goal is to take her to that old fool Peragius to see if he can do anything for her, although I highly doubt it. Still, I have nothing to lose by trying.
"Hmm?" Even so, as we walked, I felt a huge mana fluctuation come out of nowhere and immediately went on guard.
I was already familiar with this mana pattern, but... what was he doing here?
"Tch... what a nuisance..." I muttered as I cast God-rank barrier magic around Nanahoshi to protect her... the lost mana is definitely something to regret...
*krooom!!!*
Immediately after, a massive attack launched in my direction.
Debris and earth were thrown everywhere due to the force of the impact.
Fortunately, I managed to protect Nanahoshi, making the attack miss her, but I still couldn't help but frown.
"Alekzander Ryback ll... what are you doing here? You were supposed to be on the Beggarit continent..." My voice came out as hostile as I expected and before me was revealed the face of a young man with black hair and red eyes, who was holding a golden staff. "You know very well why I'm here, Dragon God... you ordered the death of my son! And that Rudeus was the one who killed him! Tell me where he is!" Alekzander shouted as he lunged at me.
Once again, I found myself frowning, even though that was my normal face. I still couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
'Rudeus?... The third world power?'
'Haaa!' While Alekzander attacked me and I dodged with ease, I couldn't help but wonder what this meant.
'But how? How was Alekzander able to travel from Beggaritt to here? There was only one explanation, and that was the teleportation circles. But how could he discover one and travel specifically to me? It just didn't make sense...
'Tell me where it is!' With a quick swing, Alekzander's staff swung towards me, but I stopped it with my hand.
*boom!!*
Even so, the force of his blow was enough to sink my feet slightly into the ground and create a small earthquake all around.
'Hmm, he's definitely gotten stronger than before. He could defeat Randolf if he wanted to.'
'Nnghh!!' He gasped, trying to pull his staff out of my grasp. Even so, against me, his strength means nothing.
"What do I care if your son is dead? And why do you think I would have anything to do with that Rudeus?" I asked him as I stared into his eyes.
When our gazes met, he shuddered but didn't falter.
"Interesting."
"Don't lie to me! Rudeus himself came into my dreams and mocked me! He mentioned you as his partner, and I could barely find you! What kind of magic did that Rudeus use against me?!" He screamed, and my pupils contracted.
"I see... now it all makes sense..." I muttered, anger building inside me.
*clank!*
With a simple movement, his staff snapped in half in my grasp.
He barely had time to react and look at me in horror before his heart was pierced by my hand.
"Aagh!!..." He spat out a mouthful of blood as he stared at me with rage in his eyes, but I knew that wouldn't kill him, so I watched him as he slowly regenerated.
"That Rudeus guy, what did he look like?" I asked, to see if my suspicions were true.
"Huh?!" He looked at me like I was crazy, which made me frown even more.
"You should know, bastard! That faceless bastard is working with you! You should!"
Before he could even continue, his body was completely incinerated by my fire magic as I stared at him.
My suspicions had been resolved; there was no need to do anything else...
"That Rudeus guy and Hitogami must be working together..." I muttered, anger rising within me. "But that bastard is getting more and more careless. That means my victory is near," I muttered in my mind, a smile forming on my face.
'If that bastard got careless it only indicated that he felt cornered and that was a good sign for me.'
Still, the Rudeus Greyrat issue has become my top priority right now, I'll be able to help this girl with whatever she needs later, but right now I have to find Rudeus... But I have no idea where he is...
I've never encountered anything like this before, I know all the people in this world who will live in the 200 year period that I'm in but why?...
Why is this happening?...
"Let's go..." I said to the girl while ignoring her state of shock.
The only person who could help me right now is Kishirika Kishirisu... With her mana eye she can see anyone in this world...
Only she could help me...even if Badigadi or anyone else gets in my way.
Orsted said and so he began a new path through the lower jaw of the Red Wrym.
His destination was the demonic continent but once again a bad feeling swept him away.
"hmmm... "So fast?..." I muttered as I looked at the ring on My right hand
The small ring, brown in color, it only served one purpose.
Hide my true identity.
But with that a price was needed and that was Mana and that was what I had the least of.
Normally the ring would have an effect of a whole year with an amount of mana similar to a King rank spell.
An artifact created by the DragonFolks themselves and of which only one remained.
But again I frowned.
'So fast?... It's only been 10 months...' I muttered with a grimace of dissatisfaction.
Hiding my true identity was necessary, otherwise I would be exposed to Hitogami much sooner because I would even lose My invisibility ability at the sight of the faceless bastard.
'What a bad streak...' I muttered in my head.
Recharging this ring takes about an hour, and it is also where I am most vulnerable due to the skills that I lose from this.
"Let's go down the hill and camp," I said, and so I started walking quickly through the mountains.
"Oi, mattero yo! !" The girl responded in an unknown language as she ran towards me.
I ignored her and continued walking down the mountains until I reached a snowy forest near Wrym territory.
But thanks to my curse they would never come near me or the girl.
After starting a fire to keep her warm and hunting some meat for her, I walked away from her with the excuse of "doing something important" and went into the forest.
So I walked, walked, and walked for several minutes until the light of the campfire was no longer visible to me.
And so after twenty minutes of walking I thought it was prudent to do so.
So I slowly took off the ring and my true appearance was revealed.
...
[Third-person point of view]
Within a lush forest on the borders of Asura stood a solitary figure.
Anyone who looked at her even from a distance would run away in terror, as if they had seen a creature pulled from the jaws of the abyss.
But for the things that were not affected by her curse they would only see... a woman
With white hair down to her back, yellow reptilian eyes, scales on her cheeks
E cup tits and a round ass.
Her tunic that used to hang down now tightens, highlighting the most attractive parts of her body, but her gaze detailed it.
A look that literally kills.
Originally Orsted was born as a woman and his name was Lunaria like her mother.
But due to Hitogami's betrayal, Lunaria was sent to the future and had to assume Orsted's identity for millennia until it became her true personality.
Still she was not ashamed of being a woman but the situation required Orsted
'Shit... It'll take me months to restore all my mana lost from ring use' she muttered in her mind.
So after an hour of non-stop mana depositing during the ring, she put it back on again, resuming Orsted's form as if nothing had happened.
So she returned to Nanahosh while they both watched the bonfire burn.
But even with everything that had happened it had served to set a new objective for Lunaria-Orsted.
'If I want to find him as quickly as possible...we'll have to go back the way we came...' She muttered in her mind with a cold expression
"tch..." Lunaria clicked her tongue as she realized the complications that had accumulated in just a few hours.
"What a fucking annoying thing..." She sighed to herself.
But little did Lunaria know that this decision would change her life forever.
[Coment and give me power stones!!]
