Chapter 39: Aftermath
Settling into a chair beside the bed, Kade leaned back and propped his feet up on the edge of the mattress, his eyes never leaving Vala's peaceful face. He knew that he had taken her by surprise, but he also knew that she had enjoyed it as much as he had. It was a bonding moment, something that went beyond mere physical attraction and into the realm of the divine. He reached out and brushed a stray lock of hair from her forehead, his touch feather-light.
"Well," he said to the room, his voice a low rumble, "That was certainly... intense." He laughed again, the sound a little shaky.
The door to the apartment slid open, and Aria popped her head in, her eyes scanning the room with a knowing smile. "I see the training session went well, did you have fun Kade?" she quipped, stepping inside and surveying the destruction.
Kade looked up from his chair, his cheeks tinged with a hint of color. "You could say that," he replied, his grin unabashed. "But I think 'fun' is an understatement."
In a sudden burst of energy, Vala's eyes snapped open, and she shot up, her tail swishing wildly behind her. "What happened?" she exclaimed, surveying the wreckage around her. "It's like a tornado hit my place!"
Kade couldn't help but laugh at the sight of her, his chuckles deep and genuine. "Well, it wasn't a tornado, but you could say we did stir up quite the storm," he replied, his smile wide and playful.
Vala's eyes grew wide as she took in the scene before her. "You think?" she quipped, a hint of amusement in her voice as she took in the destroyed furniture and the remnants of their fiery union scattered around the room. Despite the mess, she felt an overwhelming sense of peace and belonging that she hadn't felt in decades.
Kade's laughter grew louder, the sound warming her soul. He stood up and offered her a hand, which she took gratefully, allowing him to pull her to her feet. Her legs wobbled slightly, a testament to the intensity of their lovemaking. With a grace that belied his massive size, Kade bent down and picked up the shreds of her torn clothing, draping them over her trembling body.
"I'll train you, Vala," he said, his eyes sparkling with determination. "We'll turn this raw power into something unstoppable. Together, we'll show the universe what it truly means to be a Saiyan."
Vala felt a thrill of excitement at his words. For so long, she had felt like an outsider in the Saiyan community, her lack of a tail and her unorthodox fighting style marking her as different. But with Kade beside her, she felt like she could conquer any challenge. She nodded eagerly, her eyes shining with anticipation.
The weeks that followed were a blur of intense training and passionate nights. Kade pushed her to her limits, and she reveled in every moment of it. They worked tirelessly in the gravity chamber, her muscles screaming with every punch thrown and block made. Slowly but surely, she began to see improvements. Her strikes grew more precise, her movements more fluid, and she found that she could maintain the illusion of weight for longer periods of time.
One evening, after a particularly grueling session in the gravity chamber, Vala stood in the shower, allowing the hot water to cascade over her bruised and aching body. She felt alive, more alive than she had in centuries. As the water washed away the sweat and pain, she realized that she had found her true purpose.
When she emerged she found Kade waiting for her, his expression serious. "I've been thinking," he began, his eyes searching hers. "The time has come for you to face your true potential, Vala."
Her heart raced at his words. What did he mean? What new challenge would he throw her way? She waited, her anticipation building as he stepped closer.
"I want to show you something," he said, his voice low and filled with a hint of excitement. "A technique that only a true Saiyan can master. Are you ready?"
Vala nodded, her breath hitching in her throat. "I'm ready," she said, her voice steady despite the butterflies that danced in her stomach.
With that, Kade took her hand and led her back into the gravity chamber. The room hummed with anticipation as the gravity began to rise again, pressing down on them like the weight of destiny itself. Vala took a deep breath and prepared herself for whatever was to come. This was it—the moment she had been waiting for, the moment she would prove herself to Kade and to the universe.
The gravity grew more intense, but instead of fighting against it, Vala allowed herself to become one with the pressure. It was as if she had finally found her center, the place where power and grace converged. And in that moment, she felt a surge of energy unlike anything she had ever experienced before. Her body began to glow, a soft, golden light that grew brighter and brighter until she was all but a sun in the room.
Kade watched her with pride, his own power flaring in response. "Now," he said, his voice a command. "Release it. Show me the full extent of your power."
