Chapter 164: The inter racial touenament is over
In the arena, Croot and Seraphina were standing opposite each other.
Though Croot was a plant-type lifeform and Seraphina was a Phoenix who excelled in fire elemental manipulation, giving her the apparent upper hand in this battle but no one thought so. Whoever had seen Croot's battles before never believed he was at a disadvantage.
In fact, it was the opposite.
"Sigh! That beautiful doll is going to lose. This plant is really something else."
This was the most popular thought in the crowd.
Seraphina felt irritated, as she could also hear the voices of the audience.
The referee declared the start of the battle.
Instantly, Seraphina turned into a phoenix,a very beautiful, blazing red bird.
Meanwhile, Croot transformed into a fifty-meter-tall tree. This was a new form he had never revealed before.
Hundreds of vines erupted from his body and surrounded the entire battlefield.
Seraphina either had to leave the arena or fight him head-on.
She unleashed her flames on the vines, and they burned away.
The audience was excited to see Seraphina holding her own against the massive tree. But soon, their hopes were crushed as countless new vines replaced the old ones and again surged toward Seraphina.
This cycle of burning and regrowth continued for a while. Then, suddenly, Croot produced some red thorned vines.
When Seraphina spat her phoenix fire on them, the flames had no effect. The vines wrapped around her body tightly.
The battle was over. Seraphina had lost.
Croot advanced to the next phase.
The next battle was between Kronar and Zephyron, the Jormungandr.
This fight was decided quickly, as Kronar was on a completely different level than Zephyron.
The following match was between Ethan and Nero.
Nero was from a lower race, but he had reached this stage through sheer talent alone.
He belonged to a bird-human race.
Ethan looked at him and said, "Nero, I respect your dedication and talent. So I won't make things difficult for you. If you can hold on for twenty seconds under my barehanded attack, you will win."
Nero replied politely, "Okay."
Ethan instantly assumed his Heavenly Asura combat form and attacked.
But it was impossible for Nero to withstand Ethan even for a second. Still, he persisted for three seconds before being defeated.
Ethan looked at the fallen Nero. "Why don't you join under the Primordial Humans? I like your talent."
Nero was stunned. It was beyond his wildest dreams that Ethan would personally invite him into the Primordial Human race.
"It would be our honor, young supreme."
Nero was a smart man. He quickly assumed his new role.
Ethan smiled in satisfaction and left the arena.
The battles continued, and soon the final eight were decided:
Ethan
Kronar
Lucien
Alistair
Velmora
Croot
Yuriel
Noran
These eight would fight in the quarterfinals.
The matches were set:
Ethan vs. Noran
Croot vs. Yuriel
Alistair vs. Velmora
Lucien vs. Kronar
But in this lineup, Lucien would need to defeat Kronar to even have a chance to face Alistair. It would be a tough battle.
Soon, the battles began.
Noran was from the Celestial race. The moment the match was decided, everyone knew he was doomed as Ethan hated the Celestial like a plague.
Ethan vanished and reappeared in front of Noran. He covered Noran's mouth so he couldn't say "I admit defeat," and then began slapping him violently.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
He slapped him at least ten thousand times within a single minute.
Noran began crying like a child.
But he couldn't say anything as his mouth was sealed shut.
Ethan slapped him a few more times until Noran's face was swollen like a pig's head. Then he lost consciousness.
"What a trash." Ethan turned and left the arena.
Everyone was speechless. Ethan had never been so heavy-handed with anyone else.
The next battle was between Yuriel and Croot.
Everyone thought Yuriel would lose. Croot had already earned that much trust.
But as soon as the match began, a red blood domain enveloped the entire arena.
There were murmurs among the audience. They recognized this domain. It was the Blood Domain of the royal family—only a chosen few could master it. It was an open secret.
Yuriel had learned the Blood Domain inside the Trial Tower.
After three minutes, Yuriel was still standing, while Croot lay unconscious on the ground.
Yuriel had won, and quite easily at that.
Next was Alistair versus Velmora.
Velmora transformed into a five-clawed golden dragon, while Alistair revealed a twelve-winged angel form—the Seraphim bloodline he had obtained from the Celestial Trial Tower.
It was a tough, high-level battle, but Alistair eventually won.
Finally, it was Kronar versus Lucien.
Ethan was curious. He wanted to see what this regressor protagonist would do when outmatched.
Kronar said, "You have to lose this battle. I want to fight Ethan Hunt. So it's better if you admit defeat willingly, or else—"
Before he could even finish, Lucien vanished and reappeared beside him, landing a punch.
Caught off guard, Kronar was blasted out of the arena, though he managed to steady himself and land back inside.
But Lucien wasn't finished. He vanished again, but this time Kronar was ready. He countered with a punch fueled by instinct, and their fists collided—equal in power.
Lucien then activated his spacetime physique at full potential. This time, it was not a normal punch. It was a punch of time.
Lucien struck one second before the present moment.
No one saw what had happened, but Kronar flew away like a ragdoll and fell out of the arena.
Lucien had won.
Ethan was impressed. This "time punch" was something Ethan could try to do, though he had never needed to use something like this.
The semifinalists were decided:
Ethan vs. Yuriel
Alistair vs. Lucien
In the arena, Yuriel faced Ethan.
"I know this is just a fraction of your power," she said. "But I will defeat it today. And someday, I will defeat your main body too. Remember it."
Ethan remained calm.
"You are not worthy of that. Use your highest power and let me see what makes you so arrogant."
The entire arena was swallowed by Yuriel's blood domain.
But instantly, it was consumed by darkness.
Ethan unleashed his Chaos Domain over it.
Yuriel was suppressed so completely she couldn't even stand.
The battle was over.
Ethan left the arena.
Yuriel, however, stayed behind. She was crying. Why couldn't she even defeat a clone of that man? Was she truly this pathetic? Even the Blood Domain was useless against him? Then what could work?
She didn't know. No one knew, because the answer didn't exist.
Lucien and Alistair stood face to face.
"Lucien, today I will de—"
But before he could even finish, Lucien time-punched him.
He hated Alistair with every fiber of his being.
Alistair couldn't even react. No one could—except those who also comprehended the spacetime law.
Lucien pummeled Alistair for two hours straight. It was a satisfying battle for him, and also for Ethan.
Ethan smiled.
"You have earned your gift."
The final was unnecessary. Both finalists were from the Primordial Humans.
The origin artifact was sent directly to Earth.
Ethan spoke to Lucien.
"Come to Earth to take your gift."
Then he vanished.
