Chapter 172: Learning his first spell
Ethan sat cross-legged and closed his eyes.
His father was slowly guiding him from behind.
"Breathe slowly, try to concentrate. Don't think about anything else."
The moment Ethan closed his eyes, he saw white particles all around him.
And he tried to catch them. Instantly, his colorless core activated and started absorbing mana like a black hole.
The moment the white particles entered his body, they turned purple, it was the color of lightning element.
Space and Time didn't have any color, only the basic elements did.
Instantly all the purple mana particles started going into the core and it started turning purple.
But what Ethan didn't know was, Cadis Entrama Di Raizel, the strongest Arch Magus and the Emperor of Lukedonia, had started sweating.
Because the scene unfolding in front of him was unnatural.
He came here to guide Ethan for 7 days at least. Because he himself needed 10 days to finally see the particles properly and grasp them inside his body.
So he thought his son would at least need 7 days, even if he were a genius.
But his son had done that instantly.
The moment he closed his eyes, he saw mana gushing inside him crazily.
He soon stopped Ethan by touching his shoulder.
Ethan opened his eyes with a surprised face.
"Father, what happened?"
Cadis said, "Nothing son. You did a good job, but don't become proud, because I saw many geniuses who did this even faster than you."
He was talking nonsense to brainwash his little baby boy.
There was no way someone could be even faster.
But Ethan believed that nonsense.
"Okay, father. I won't become proud."
Cadis nodded in satisfaction.
"Good. Now let me teach you the most basic spell."
"Mana Ball."
In this spell, you need to learn mana control and create a ball with your mana between your hands.
This could become a lethal weapon and you would be able to manipulate mana more perfectly.
Ethan's eyes were sparkling again.
"Please father, teach me."
He was becoming a magic maniac.
Cadis took out a scroll.
"This is the spell diagram which you need to remember and channel your mana like the diagram inside your body.
Don't rush it. Learn slowly. If you can learn it in 7 days, I will give you a gift."
He smiled at Ethan.
Ethan took the scroll with a serious face. He wanted to give his 100% effort.
Then he looked at the diagram and instantly remembered it.
Whose soul was he? The soul of Ethan Hunt, the owner of Infinite Comprehension. Of course his understanding and memory would be out of this world, even if he didn't have that talent now.
After remembering the diagram, Ethan closed his eyes and started channeling his mana like the diagram.
It felt like breathing to him.
Instantly a purple ball started to manifest between his two hands.
Cadis was about to tell him how to remember it easily, but then he saw the craziness in front of him.
Instantly he became petrified.
He knew his son was special, but he didn't know he was a monster.
This boy was in a league of his own. He had already broken some world record the moment he stepped on the path of magic.
Cadis instantly created a barrier inside the training room, no one should see this.
That might cause a war if any other empire or other races learned about this.
Ethan opened his eyes. He was panicked.
"Umm, father, I think I have lost control of this spell. What should I do?" he looked at his father.
"Huh?" Cadis was about to ask what happened, but then he saw the purple lightning ball becoming larger and larger, and in a few moments, it turned the size of an adult human and was still growing.
Ethan's mana core was absorbing magic and supplying it. This was not included in the spell scroll, that was why he lost control.
Cadis shouted, "Release that instantly."
"But father, it might destroy the training room and hurt you, too." Ethan was in full panic mode.
"I am an Arch Magus, have you forgotten? Just release that. I promise nothing will happen."
"Okay father, I am releasing."
And boom, the huge mana ball with an 8-foot diameter was released from his hands and went toward Cadis.
But as soon as it reached near him, Cadis snapped his fingers and the mana ball disappeared.
Ethan's eyes opened wide.
"Wow, father. You are so awesome.", he was jumping up and down happily.
He was full of admiration toward his father.
Cadis didn't know why, but he felt super proud right now, even if he were an Arch Magus and the person who praised him was a 3-year-old boy.
He felt a little smug getting praise from his monstrous son.
Then he became calm again.
"Okay, your training is finished for today. Don't tell anyone about what you did today. Don't use the spell anywhere. Come to the training room in the morning. You can go now."
Cadis disappeared from the training room.
But Ethan didn't leave instantly.
He was thinking about what happened today and why he lost control over that mana ball.
Soon he got his answer. It was his core.
It was helping him absorb mana faster than he could control.
So he needed to control the input of mana and also the output.
Ethan was super pumped up now. He couldn't wait for tomorrow. But he respected his father very much, so he left the training room after changing.
He would read books about magic tonight in the library.
Cadis went to the bedroom with Trina.
She was wearing her night dress and was combing her hair infront the mirror. She looked ethereal at that moment.
"Your majesty , how was our son today?"
Cadis said with a smile,
"Trina, you have gifted me the world. I can't thank you enough. I will grant one wish of yours. Tell me what you want."
Trina was surprised. It was an excessive compliment, she wasn't ready for this.
"Your well-being is my biggest wish, your majesty. Please take care of yourself even if you have to rule this empire, that's my wish."
Cadis felt warmth in his chest. Then he embraced Trina gently and blew out the light of the room.
