The winner was decided
Liza and Shery were cheering on top of Riruru's back, but…the rest of us were just shocked.
It was the kind of battle that would be impossible for humans. I had been expecting something impressive, but not to this degree.
I had no idea how they were able to turn and change their trajectory while in the air… It was as if there were invisible platforms.
Was that really not magic? How could you do that with physical ability alone…? Well, Leo said it wasn't, so it must be true.
"Papa! Feri and Fen are so amazing! But I think Feri is going to lose?"
"They really are… But Feri is at a disadvantage? Can you really keep up with them?"
"I can't see it clearly, but… I can sense it?"
"Sense it…"
The fighting continued for about ten more minutes, and then it ended suddenly.
"Gau! Grau!!"
"Gurr…"
"…Is it…over?"
"It looks like it…"
There was a loud bang and the ground shook. A crater had been made, and Feri was inside of it, looking rather stunned.
Fen placed his paw on Feri's stomach. And while pressing his opponent down, he howled in triumph.
So, Fen had won after all…
"Wuff. Wuff!"
"Awooo!"
"Gurr…"
Leo also nodded and raised her paw as she declared Fen the victor.
"Are you alright?"
"Gur…"
"Gau.."
"Haha. That was an impressive fight!"
"Grau!"
A short while later, I was petting Feri and consoling him.
He had been so confident about winning, and so he felt a little down now.
"Still… Feri and Fen sure have become dirty."
"Grau?"
While I was petting the fenrirs, I noticed that they were covered in dust, and their fur was all tangled.
"I suppose you'll have to take a bath…"
I remembered that while Leo took baths, we had never really washed the fenrirs.
"Wu-wuff!?"
"Grau?"
"Gur?"
"Why are you reacting, Leo? Well, I suppose it's because you hate bathing. Regardless, it will have to be after we get back. …Hmm? Riruru?"
"Grau."
"Gau. Grau."
I saw a shadow, and then Riruru came up behind me.
She then moved close to Fen and rubbed her face against him.
Fen barked happily. They sure got along well.
"Gurr…"
"Haha. You did well too, Fen. Here."
"Gurr…"
Feri looked at Fen and Riruru a little jealously.
I quickly petted him again so he wouldn't go back to being depressed… Now that I thought about it, did Feri have a mate? It seemed likely, if he was the pack leader.
After that, Riruru told Fen not to be too proud and get carried away with the victory, as Feri was clearly old…
