Sebastian barged in

"I would never…! Even if I wanted to, it would be impossible with Leo and the fenrirs around. Besides, you are not at fault. And so I would never do you any harm!"

"Then what's the problem?"

"However…that desire in me can be considered a flaw. To work close to you and Lady Claire would be…"

So that's what was troubling him.

He did not know how to erase the desire. And now he was starting to think it made him unfit to work for me or the duke.

"But what's wrong with wanting to be a noble? I am just guessing here…but I would not be surprised if many people in towns and villages want to be one as well."

"So, Mr. Winfield. You believe that it would be inappropriate to work as a servant…while hoping to be a noble one day?"

Well, since they were talking about how a servant should act, I knew that I should leave the rest to Sebastian.

"A servant's job is to support their master and take care of them in various ways. And in the duke's house, everyone has their own role."

Some of them took care of Claire directly, while others worked in the kitchen or cleaned the house.

There was a butler who tended to the herb garden and there was a messenger who went to the towns and villages.

"It does not matter if you have feelings of wanting to become a noble. What is necessary is honesty."

"Mr. Winfield. Are you saying that you will be dishonest towards Lady Claire or Mr. Takumi?"

"No, I would not be."

"Then everything is fine. You have your own individual way of thinking. But as long as you do your job, then all will be good."
