My Boyfriend is the Heartthrob, and I’m Just a Passerby.

Extra 2 - Heartbroken Twice.

“Where’s Yan Mei? Isn’t he here?”

“I came here for Yan Mei—”

“Why is it you?”

Countless questions swirled around him. Bo Zhehan felt the suffocating pressure in the air. Everyone was staring at him with hostile eyes, as if he were the culprit behind everything.

If only he could get through this.

But the problem was, Bo Zhehan had no idea what kind of expression he should be making at this moment.

Why am I the one being blocked?

Still, he could understand the urgency and anxiety on their faces.

Because today was Yan Mei’s birthday. A rare occasion. And yet, the main character was nowhere to be found.

[Yan Mei.]

No matter how many times he heard the name, even if it was just a name, it made his heart pound like it was about to leap out of his chest. Just thinking about that person filled him with an overwhelming sense of excitement and joy—Yan Mei had that kind of intoxicating allure.

Bo Zhehan firmly believed that no one in this world could remain indifferent to that face.

Those filthy desires, obsessive thoughts—it was like opening a floodgate to murky water, uncontrollably pouring toward that person.

And yet, no one dared to approach.

The boldest thing anyone could do was to follow him with their eyes, but when it came to taking real action, they would hesitate and shrink back.

At first, Bo Zhehan thought everyone would just continue yearning from a distance, breathing the same air as Yan Mei, and that would be enough. But then, out of nowhere, an unfamiliar classmate—someone nobody had ever heard of—suddenly became Yan Mei’s official boyfriend.

[What kind of light novel development is this…? Is this really something that happens in real life? The difference between them is so vast—it just feels off no matter how you look at it.]

It was hard to imagine Yan Mei in a romantic relationship.

But seeing how he personally picked him up from school, how fiercely protective he was—it also seemed strangely reasonable.

So, people continued to watch. And from that, the thought “Maybe I have a chance too” started to take root.

A month ago, Bo Zhehan had thought the same way. Now, looking back, he felt like an absolute fool.

[Because of various unexpected circumstances, I ended up as Ye Jishu’s roommate.]

[So, whenever Yan Mei came to find him, I would also be there—which is why they’re blocking me now.]

And yet, once again, everyone strangely, collectively ignored the real focus—Ye Jishu. Instead, they assumed that Bo Zhehan must know something, so now that Yan Mei wasn’t in the villa, they came to question him.

But—

Bo Zhehan’s face twisted in agony.

[Who the hell am I? Do I even deserve to be involved between my idol and my former obsession?!]

Every time he saw the two of them together, a complex, indescribable feeling surged within him.

His obsession with Yan Mei still ruled his heart, but he was starting to get a vague sense that Yan Mei was definitely not as simple or approachable as he seemed.

The longer he stared at him, the more a deep-seated fear settled in his gut.

Maybe it was because he had encountered those unexplainable things not too long ago.

Even though he had never seen [Yan Mei] actually appear in those abnormal events, he just had this gut feeling—

[Yan Mei] is dangerous. He is self-serving.

So, of course, he wouldn’t hesitate to abandon everyone, completely ignoring the obsessed crowd that surrounded him.

“He was just here…”

Yeah. That was true.

Just earlier, Yan Mei had been smiling and exchanging a few words with everyone, completely entrancing them.

Inside this villa—outfitted with an indoor swimming pool, a billiard room, a gaming room, and even a private theater—no one had been in the mood to do anything else.

Bo Zhehan didn’t understand why Yan Mei did this.

Was it to maintain a “normal” life?

But by now, he must have grown tired of it. Or perhaps, he had set his sights on something else.

Either way, while everyone else was in a daze, the protagonist had already vanished from sight.

By the time they snapped out of it, no one could recall when exactly they had looked away—only that somehow, they had all missed him.

Finally, someone couldn’t hold it in anymore.

“Let’s go find him!”

Bo Zhehan sucked in a sharp breath and took a step back.

[…]

Don’t drag me into this if you want to die…!

He had planned to sneak away, but the group’s excitement swept him along, forcing him to wander through the villa alongside them.

Yan Mei’s family must be wealthy.

The villa was massive—four stories tall.

Each floor had a spacious, polished living area, while the bedrooms were neatly arranged at both ends of the long corridors like a row of dominoes. There had to be at least twenty rooms.

“Are we really going to check every single one?”

Someone hesitated.

“It’s not like we have anything else to do.”

Bo Zhehan’s gaze swept over the people around him, and suddenly, he realized something—

At some point, Ye Jishu had disappeared as well.

Why hadn’t I noticed that right away?

Why am I only realizing it now…?

Yan Mei is missing.

Ye Jishu is missing too…

Bo Zhehan’s mind stalled.

It felt like something was on the verge of revealing itself, pinning him to the spot, making him stop following the others.

And then—

A voice suddenly came from nearby.

“I think I hear something.”

“…”

Ah. No way. It couldn’t be that much of a coincidence, right?!

Even with the air conditioning on, a wave of heat rushed over him.

For some reason, his cheeks flushed with warmth.

On Yan Mei’s birthday, the two of them disappeared at the same time and ended up alone together in a closed-off space.

[…This is absolutely not a train of thought I should be following.]

But it was too late to stop. His head jerked toward the front, just in time to see the person ahead reach for the door handle and push it open—

Revealing the entire scene inside.

Yan Mei and Ye Jishu were both there.

But the first thought that flashed across Bo Zhehan’s mind was—

Wow, that’s a huge screen.

And displayed on that enormous screen—was a game in progress.

Yan Mei sat on the couch.

And Ye Jishu… was playing the game.

“…”

Playing the game—he was seriously playing the game!

Yan Mei’s phone rested on the side, and from Bo Zhehan’s position, he could see the rapidly scrolling barrage of messages on the screen.

【I heard the door opening…】

【I feel like there are quite a few people… yjs, are you outside?】

【It was quiet before.】

Bo Zhehan’s body trembled violently.

If they could hear their footsteps, it meant the microphone wasn’t muted, which also meant—

Someone couldn’t hold back and spoke. “Yan Mei… um, what are you guys doing here?”

Damn it!

[The name was exposed.]

Bo Zhehan felt a wave of dizziness.

He didn’t know what the Bureau of Control would think, but if this somehow blew up online, his status as a mere bystander would be completely shattered. Not to mention, Yan Mei’s special identity being exposed on the internet wouldn’t be a good thing either—

The bullet screen paused for a moment, then instantly flooded with messages.

Without hesitation, Bo Zhehan stepped forward and said, “Alright, that’s enough. Stop playing around and don’t disturb Teacher yjs.”

“……”

His voice was quite distinctive.

Compared to that classmate’s casual, ambiguous remark, Bo Zhehan was immediately recognized, and all attention shifted to him in an instant. The bullet screen exploded with comments like:

【Why is the young master there?】

【Do you guys know each other in real life?】

Bo Zhehan couldn’t care less. He immediately ushered all the classmates out of the room and slammed the door shut.

“Bang—!”

The sound of the door echoed through the enclosed space.

Bo Zhehan let out a sigh of relief. He turned around abruptly, only to see the once-lit gaming screen now turned off.

Ye Jishu had ended the livestream, without a second of hesitation, completely disregarding what the audience on the other end might think.

That was undeniably his style…

However, just as Bo Zhehan was staring at him absentmindedly, he suddenly felt an icy gaze from the side.

A chill ran down his spine.

Even without turning his head, he knew exactly who was looking at him.

In an instant, countless thoughts flashed through Bo Zhehan’s mind, and his overwhelming survival instinct forced him to blurt out, “I’ll explain everything later. Yes, we know each other offline, but there’s absolutely nothing between us, so don’t overthink it—also, you definitely have a boyfriend…!”

Ye Jishu: “……”

He hadn’t even said anything yet.

However, it seemed that Bo Zhehan had been triggered, because he suddenly started venting all his bottled-up frustrations.

“To be honest, I’ve never liked that Bai Feng guy. A real heartthrob isn’t someone who takes things out of context and gives himself undue credit. If anyone deserves that title, it’s Yan Mei… In fact, if it weren’t for the current situation, I’d want to show everyone his pictures—”

Anyone who had seen Yan Mei would never be able to say they didn’t like him.

“No.”

Before he could even finish, Ye Jishu interrupted him flatly.

“But—”

“No.”

“I was just—”

“I said, no.”

“……”

Another decisive rejection.

Bo Zhehan’s voice abruptly stopped.

Of course, it was just a thought.

Yan Mei’s identity absolutely couldn’t be revealed, especially since it would inevitably drag Ye Jishu into it as well.

However, as he took in Ye Jishu’s furrowed brows and firm attitude, Bo Zhehan suddenly realized the real reason behind his reaction.

[This… is possessiveness.]

Ye Jishu didn’t want others to surround Yan Mei.

The realization struck Bo Zhehan like lightning.

He hadn’t known Ye Jishu for long, but this kind of emotion was the last thing he expected from someone as indifferent as him. If anything, Ye Jishu resembled a robot far more than a human.

After all, Bo Zhehan had rarely seen him display any kind of significant emotion.
Sometimes, when he saw Ye Jishu sleeping in class without moving a muscle, he’d even wonder if the guy was dead.

And yet, this “inhuman” person was capable of experiencing human emotions—for [Yan Mei.]

Truthfully, Bo Zhehan had always had a feeling.

That Yan Mei might belong to that [other] world—the one he had inadvertently come into contact with. In other words, Yan Mei wasn’t human.

But the thing was—

Yan Mei seemed to express emotions far more vividly than Ye Jishu, making him easier to understand.

Bo Zhehan could clearly feel that Yan Mei liked Ye Jishu—a lot. So much that he wouldn’t allow anyone to take him away. And yet, Ye Jishu himself seemed oblivious to the danger of this, acting so freely that he gave people the illusion of being emotionally dull.

So today, when Bo Zhehan accidentally stumbled upon this scene, he was struck by an overwhelming sense of realization.

[Ye Jishu had always known.]

And more than that—he felt the same way. He had just been hiding it.

But today, through his firm and unwavering refusal, Ye Jishu’s true emotions had finally surfaced.

[He, too, liked Yan Mei—deeply.]

A flood of complex and indescribable emotions surged through Bo Zhehan.

In the end, his overloaded brain crashed, and he let out a heartbroken wail:

“Who the hell… loses in love twice at the same time?!”
