Chapter 246: Becoming the Ruler IX
The fifth crown radiated heat—scorched steel lined with molten gold, its center pulsing like a heart of lava. This was a crown forged in the belly of a volcano, tempered in endless fire.
"Dwarven crown," Leon said. "A burden they were glad to give up."
Wearing it, his body surged with the weight of craftsmanship, creation, and fire. He could feel the strength of stone and steel settling in his bones. It was heavy, but it fit perfectly.
He removed it slowly and set it among the rest.
The sixth crown was unlike the others—it shimmered like stardust, glimmering in soft pastels and gentle hues. It seemed more alive than crafted, the faint melody of laughter and nature humming from it.
"The Crown of the Fairies," Leon spoke, his tone almost reverent. "A land of illusions… and frightening power beneath their beauty."
He wore it last. His aura grew light and surreal, as though he might vanish in a wisp of dreamlike smoke. The power within was graceful, fluid, and ancient beyond measure.
He took a breath, grounding himself, then slowly removed it.
Six crowns now rested before him, each radiating its own essence, their powers still clinging to him like aftershocks of conquest.
Shubh remained kneeling, eyes glowing with silent devotion.
The six crowns at Leon's side suddenly began to glow once more. Each one shimmered with its unique essence—flames, shadows, silver leaves, molten steel, and ethereal light—before they lifted into the air. Slowly, they spiraled toward Leon, their forms dissolving and fusing above his head.
From this convergence, a single, new crown was born—pitch black in base, yet lined with a graceful silver trim. Upon its ring were six grooves, each holding a gem that pulsed with the energy of its origin: a crimson scale for the Dragon Continent, a feral fang for the Beastmen, a leaf-shaped emerald for the Elves, a shard of obsidian for the Dark Continent, a molten gem for the Dwarves, and a soft-glowing opal for the Fairies.
But there were two remaining grooves—empty, waiting.
One was shaped like a horned crescent: the Demon Continent's groove.
The other was sculpted in the form of a human crest: the Human Continent's groove.
Just then, a dark portal formed beside Leon. From it stepped a towering figure clad in flowing black and crimson robes—the Gluttony Demon King, one of the seven rulers of the Demon Continent. His eyes burned with chaotic hunger, but his gaze toward Leon was filled with deep respect… and caution.
Without a word, the Demon King extended his hand, offering his Crown, Leon took it as it tunred into a gem.
As he set the gem into the horned groove, the crown pulsed violently—then settled, now one step closer to completion. The groove was sealed, locking the demon gem into place.
The Gluttony Demon King gave a small, twisted grin. "As agreed. The Demon Continent follows." And with that, he vanished back into the portal, leaving behind only the sound of his fading laughter.
Now, only one groove remained empty—the one marked by the human symbol.
"Shall I go and retrieve the Human Continent's crown as well?" Shubh asked, kneeling once more.
Leon nodded slowly. "Yes... go and get it," he said, his eyes still locked onto the newly formed crown floating before him. Or rather—what it had become.

*Said to grant the Will of Conquest—a passive ability rumored to makes one unconquerable.
Leon let the crown hover gently above his hand, the gem grooves glowing in rhythm with his heartbeat.
"The final piece..." Leon whispered, his eyes narrowing as he gazed northward. In the far distance, beyond mountain ranges and rolling plains, stood the shining jewel of the Human Continent—the Imperial Capital, a towering fortress of white marble and golden spires. It was the heart of the strongest human empire, ruled by none other than Emperor Emeric, a man revered as a god-king by his people.
But now, that palace… that legacy… would be consumed by his creation—Shubh.
"I wonder how much time it will take..." Leon murmured, more to himself than to her.
But he would not have to wait long.
Exactly one hour later, a storm split the skies as Shubh descended from the heavens like a falling star. Her armor was singed, smoke rising from her shoulders, and in her hand… she carried not only the Crown of the Human Continent, but also—
The severed head of Emperor Emeric.
