My Formula 1 System

Chapter 468: S3 Bahrain Grand Prix

"...Good afternoon, good evening—wherever you are in the world—and welcome back to the heart-pounding, adrenaline-soaked world of Formula One. This is not just another race. This is the race. The first of twenty-one rounds that will carve a new legacy into the soul of motorsport. The grid is alive once again… and so is the dream...."

"...As we come to you live from the glittering sands of Bahrain, beneath a searing desert sun and a sky as open as the hopes of these twenty drivers, we begin this new season with mixed emotions. Because while we look forward to the unknown that lies ahead, we cannot forget the wounds of the past. The tragic loss of Ansel Hahn during last year's Spanish Grand Prix still weighs heavy on the paddock. Trampos Racing proudly tributes him on their new livery in order to never forget, and we shall not too.."

"...But in the cruel balance of racing, the season did go on. It ended with triumph for Squadra Corse, who clinched the Constructors' Championship with a breathtaking late-season charge, led by none other than Antonio Luigi, the Italian maestro, the Black Dread, who delivered consistency, tenacity, and sheer brilliance. A well-earned crown after a season of war. We'll bring you the final standings from that fierce campaign shortly..."

"...Today, however, the desert roars again. Over 92,000 spectators are packed around the Sakhir International Circuit, and the tension is almost unbearable. New contracts have been signed, young blood has stepped into veteran shadows, and fresh rivalries are already simmering. But among them all, the spotlight turns—unsurprisingly—to one man..."

"...He's been called a prodigy, a phoenix, a firewalker. Because while many men in this paddock have walked out of fire, Luca Rennick is the man who walked into it to save another. After a headline-shaking move back to Trampos Racing, the same team he once helped build with Hahn, Luca begins a new chapter. New colors, same fury. What will he bring this year...?"

"...This is it. The lights, the legacy, the long road ahead. The 20XX Formula One World Championship… begins now..."

Just like the championship had been announced, it now sat calmly on a raised plinth at the paddock's ceremonial center, enclosed in reinforced glass and bordered by lights. Both trophies stood loftily, as cameramen gathered around to capture them for the big screens.

The ceremonial center was positioned at a deliberately projected location so that whenever drivers were heading toward their garages after arrival or going anywhere within the paddock, they'd have to bypass it.

A few drivers reached out to touch and caress the reinforced glass: Luigi, DiMarco, Damgaard, and Derstappen. Some others tried and failed to act like they didn't see it, deliberately ignoring the display in a way that made it obvious how badly they itched to be crowned champion—like Max, Rice, and Dreyer. Meanwhile, others like Luca simply saw the plinth, acknowledged the trophy's presence, but didn't linger or make a spectacle of it before continuing on their way—such as Ailbeart and Marko.

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!"

Formula 1 was roaring with excitement once again.

The Constructors' Championship Standing had been updated; it was time to clash once more, and Bahrain was the first colosseum.

"..A golden sunset will soon fall over the desert, and 20 machines would be lined up beneath it with engines rumbling low, nerves steeled, and the world watching..."

"..And just look at this starting grid—Pole position belongs to Davide DiMarco, the artist of Velocità himself, with a clinical qualifying lap, stamped his authority at the last minute of Q3. Breathing down his neck from P2, is Ailbeart Moireach, hungry for a revival after that itsy bitsy close difference in qualifiers. That front row promises fireworks before the first corner...!"

"...Behind them, Antonio Luigi holds P3, the reigning world champion, all calm precision and icy calculation after falling short of pole expectations. But still, he doesn't need to prove anything... yet you know he'll be itching to remind the grid exactly who still holds the crown...."

"...P4 and P5? Marko Ignatova and Jimmy Damgaard. A true F1 fan knows that spot is even more deadly.."

"..Further back in P8, the man the cameras can't stop following—Luca Rennick. The return. The Mazerunner, The firewalker. Back in Trampos colours. His qualifying was subtle, some say too subtle, but make no mistake; that Z24 has hidden fangs that only Rennick seems to see..."

"...Victor Surmann starts all the way back in P16, nerves may have crept in for the rookie, but race day often opens new gears. And at the very back, Józef Konarski in P20, a difficult start, but Bahrain is a track of opportunity for the bold...."

After a progressive discussion with Grant and Vallotton, Luca nodded in understanding and lifted his chin, allowing the crew members swarming around his suit to work more effectively.

His eyes shifted toward Victor, who wore a tightly-held anxious expression. The young man was slipping on his balaclava, but even through it, Luca could still see the waver in his eyes.

The crowd was chanting, screaming, and jumping in unison. It felt like an earthquake, as though a section of the ground itself was shifting beneath them. Announcements rang out repeatedly, declaring the presence of special spectators and VIPs in attendance. Luca felt the tremor of the entire atmosphere thumping in his chest and vibrating through the rest of his body.

He picked up his helmet and put it on after socking his head first.

The Trampos crew guided the two drivers toward their Ferraris, and the atmosphere exploded with intensity. The pitlane was thunderous with fervent activity, even though there had already been several broadcasts warning for it to be cleared. Photographers clicked away furiously from behind their designated zones, media officers paced with headsets and walkie-talkies, and mechanics from other teams paused briefly to glance over at Luca before returning to their duties.

Trampos' in-race strategy was quite simple, and everything relied on Luca.

It was strictly Tiered Pursuit. And if that was the case, then it completely canceled out any multiple subordinate strategies, since the team was placing full focus on a single driver.

[SYNCHRONIZING HOST....]

[SYNCHRONIZATION COMPLETE]

[Host is now synched with Ferrari (Scuderia Z24)]

Luca took a deep breath as his car steadily began to warm up. A beam of sunlight, piercing from above one of the grandstands, sliced across the track and hit directly through his visor, momentarily blinding his left glassy eye.

He looked both ways, scanning the pitlane as it slowly began to empty itself, while other teams prepped their stars. After the brief observation, he turned his focus straight ahead, awaiting the next order.

"I still can't believe my profession is Formula racing," he said a joke to himself.
